Arsenal Closing In On Metz Youngster Pjanić

Arsenal are eyeing Metz play-maker Miralem Pjanić according to reports in France, the talented 17 year old recently signed a pro-contract has already made 21 appearances scoring nine goals.
But Pjanić is happy to stay at Metz, despite bigger clubs showing interest.
“Everything went very fast for me. The club gave me a chance to prove my quality, and that was the most important thing. That’s one reason I’m staying with Metz.”
“My father and my manager reported to me that Olympique Marseille want to buy me. From all the leagues, my most favorable are Spanish and French leagues. The most important thing for me is to play football, and money comes later.”
But Marseille and Arsenal are not the only clubs eyeing the talent, PSV, Liverpool, AC Milan and Bayern Munich are also keen but the Gunners are thought to be in pole position with manager Arsene Wenger’s pedigree in France.
There is also doubt over his International future, he was born in Kalesija, Bosnia Herzegovina, but Pjanić played in the 2006 European Under-17 Championships for Luxembourg, for which Luxembourg had qualified automatically as hosts.
He scored Luxembourg’s only goal a fantastic first time, long range, dipping effort lobbing Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo. In that same year a memorable game against Belgium ended 5-5 with Pjanic scoring 4 goals for Luxembourg.
But he is yet to commit his long term future, with His native country Bosnia-Herzegovina and his current footballing home France wanting him to represent him.
As a player, he can play on either flank, as well as a central midfielder, at 17 he plays with the talent and style of a player ten years older, his goal scoring ability is nothing short of exceptional.
Arsenal are also monitoring the progress of Pjanić’s Serbian team mate Ljubomir Fejsa, the holding midfielder was close to joining Hertha Berlin in the January window but after complications with the paper work, Berlin signed the impressive Gojko Kačar instead,
Fejsa is rated as a wonder-kid by the French outfit, and has already featured for the Serbia national team against Kazakhstan. |

Flamini aims to stay 燵/color]
Mathieu Flamini has reaffirmed his long-term commitment to Arsenal and hopes to agree a new deal at the Premier League club in the near future. The French central midfield player, who had been a fringe player at the Emirates Stadium until this campaign, has been integral to the progress of Ars鑞e Wenger's side this term but his current contract expires at the end of the season.
"Do I look as if I want to leave?" Flamini said. "Every time I play I give 100% and there is a lot of positivity in this team. I want to be part of this squad. We are a new generation and we have created a bit of history by winning at San Siro. I want to be part of the history [of this club]. I hope I'll be here next season. My adviser is talking to the club and I really hope everything will be ok. I'm really happy here." |

Arsenal Soccer Schools Malaysia to go big
PETALING JAYA: The Arsenal Soccer Schools Malaysia will be launching one of their new training centres at the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (SJMC) Sports Complex on March 15.
The Cubic Integrated Group (CIG), who manage the schools in Malaysia, have hired Hungarian Jonas Kresca as their technical advisor and coach to oversee their development programmes in the country.
Cubic Integrated Sports and Recreation Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of CIG and managed by former Selangor footballer E. Elavarasan, said that Kresca, who holds a UEFA A-Licence coaching certificate and had a playing stint with Perak in the M-League in the 90s, would kick off the launch.
At present, there are also Arsenal training centres at the La Salle PJ and Sri KDU with over 100 students between seven and 15-years-old.
The schools in Malaysia were formed in 2005 and they are franchises of the Arsenal FC in England. |

You'll have to leave Arsenal if you want to make it big, Bentley tells Walcott
England and Blackburn winger David Bentley today told Arsenal's Theo Walcott he will have to leave Arsenal if he is to develop as a top-class player.
Bentley said: 揝ometimes you need football, you need games to become better, to put your skills out on the football pitch. If he (Walcott) is not getting the minutes at Arsenal, he's going to have to look elsewhere. Your career doesn't start and end at Arsenal. It can flourish somewhere else.
揂t the end of the day you want to make a career for yourself," Bentley told talkSPORT radio station.
"You want to play football for a start and you want to make money as well. It's your job. If you want to make a career for yourself you can't afford to stay at a club where you might be 24 or 25 with 30 games under your belt. |
