Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben is out for another month due to an injury sustained against Recreativo on Saturday night...
The Dutchman collapsed under the weight of an over-the-ball challenge from Recre's Quique Alvarez, resulting in his substitution soon afterwards.
Now it seems as theough he'll need to spend another month on the sidelines to recover from this knock.
The 24-year-old has already spent around half the season on the sidelines due to injury, and a further spell on the treatment table to overcome spraining and bruising will no doubt dent his morale severely.
In the shorter term, he will miss the visit from AS Roma on Tuesday evening in the Champions League.
The silver lining for the Madrid medical staff is that, of the four injuries suffered by Robben since his arrival at the Bernabeu, this is the first one to affect a joint, meaning that it's not a recurrence of the three prior muscle injuries.
Gonzalo Higuain offered some support to his stricken teammate: "It's a pity. We must help him return as soon as possible."
Real Madrid To Offer Robinho New Deal? Spanish sports daily Marca claims that Real Madrid are weighing up the prospect of making Robinho one of the best-paid players at the Bernabeu...
The Brazilian is currently under contract only until 2010, having signed on in Madrid in 2005.
As his contract will enter its third year this season, he could technically leave under FIFA's 'Webster Ruling' at the end of the season by paying off the remainder of his deal. Unlikely though that is, Madrid are still eager to tie him down in the longer-term.
Thus sporting director Predrag 'Pedja' Mijatovic has allegedly already begun preliminary investigations into securing the winger until 2013.
Mijatovic has apparently already been in touch with the player's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, to alert him of the fact that the blancos wish to secure the future services of one of their prize talents.
Rumour also has it that Madrid are preparing a bumper salary for the Brazilian international, with a figure of

Bronzetti: Roma Should Be Wary Of Ref Not Real Madrid Ernesto Bronzetti, one of football抯 most well known agents, believes that Roma need to be wary of the referee and not Real Madrid when the two sides meet at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.
Both teams will clash for a place in the quarter finals of the Champions League and the match official will be Kyros Vassaras, a Greek travel agent. Bronzetti believes that the ref has a habit of favouring teams who play at home.
揑 have seen Vassaras, the only guarantee is that he is an international referee, but affectively he is usually a 慼ome
