You know what people - whether the Prophet consummated the marriage when Aisyah ra. was 9 or 16 yrs old, it really doesn't matter at all. First, it was the ancient custom & the marriage was not a crime in those days. Secondly, their marriage is legal. |

I say "married off" because by the words used by Bukhari that was the closest you'll ever get. The word "consumated" was the English translation used. It's boot-leg and does not reflect the true sense of the word used by Bukhari. How can one dictate the "taste of words" based on translation? The end game would only dictate being totally "lost in translation"! Dawg..you can dig that can'tcha? And as for the small talk on the girl dog thing, all I can say is that it's rather off topic, wobbling on the edge of your sensibilities. It happens when one gets disorientated while writing in continuity. So my advice to you on that is to go take that dawg for a walk off this thread. Comprende?

Bukhari vol. 7, #88:
"Narrated Urwa: "The prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death).""
