bergantung kepada stage nye; apa apa cancer pon, jika ditemui pada Stage 1, semua boleh dioperate / dichemo.
juga bergantung pada histology nye ie jenis cells yg membuat cancer tu.
bila lepas dari Stage 1, beberapa jenis cancer mempunyai prognosis yg lebih buruk, eg pancreas cancers, oesophageal cancers, dn beberap lgi.
sudahkah cancer oesophagus tadi merebak (ie Stage 3 dan Stage 4?)

Actually, we over here, very often override NOK wishes as they are made based on emotion, grief, love etc; none of these are objective and none of these can bring about meaningful life-prolongation, better prognosis or lesser pain, let alone recovery. Not only in cancers, but also in terminal COPD, terminal NYHA 5 CCF etc etc. Any cancers Stage 4 (again depending on afew criteria) are like that too. But we explain to these NOKs, patients etc.
Last oncall pon kita cakap je kat NOKs and patients that we are not going to resus you; objections or no objections. Kat mesia i know that we probably are too weak at making these calls and decisions. This cannot be. Its unethical to do futile / inappropriate decisions.

sy dah buat breast exam last oct, fr ultrasound ada lebih krg 8cyst, benign. doctor yg cek tu kata cyst yg mcm air gitu. so soalan sy, perlu ke sy risau dikhuatiri cyst tersebut brpotensi jadi sel kanser? kalau ikutkn history sy pernah ada 1 breast lump yg mana doctor keluarkn nanah, infection maybe. family takde history cancer.
dan mcm mana nk hilangkan cyst tu? |

biasanya di aspirate dgn needle dan di hanta ke lab u tuk histology dan other immunochemical staining; jika ada cells yg berpotensi untuk cause cancers, they will advise you what to do (ie treatment kenalah di buat). 8cm is quite big actually, you tentu boleh rasa sendiri. tanyalah docs u apa plan dia for you. kalau i, aspirate, histo, folo up (if not cancerous) (NB, i am not an Oncologist, but all doctors know basis of management pathways of crucial illnesses).
