MTV Video Music Aid Japan
The tenth annual MTV Video Music Awards Japan (VMAJ) will be staged as a live international music television event to benefit the Japanese Red Cross entitled MTV VIDEO MUSIC AID JAPAN.
Hosted by Japanese pop sensation AKB48 and featuring live performances from international, regional and Japanese artists, the staging of MTV VIDEO MUSIC AID JAPAN will be the culmination of MTV Japan’s MUSIC OF HOPE campaign, the multi-platform response to the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. Designed to inspire and rally young people to contribute time or funds to recovery and rebuilding efforts, MUSIC OF HOPE will feature inspirational music videos, live performances, artist interviews, exclusive news and stories about artists and young people who have been impacted by the disaster.
MTV VIDEO MUSIC AID JAPAN will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture.

SM stock price rebounded three days after its fall thanks to the SHINee effect as SHINee’s debut single is ranked 2nd on the Oricon chart.
On 24 June, SM finished at 20,150 Won, 6.61% (1,250 Won) up from the previous day, making the highest increase rate this year. [emphasis mine]
SM group SHINee was ranked 2nd on the Oricon chart with their debut single “Replay – you are my everything” released on 22 June. 120,000 copies were out for the first shipments.
Daewoo Securities forecasts SM’s album sales in Japan will increase to 2.02 million copies, double up from 2009, to bring an increase of royalty income.
Kim Changkwon, Daewoo Securities researcher, analyzed, “BoA started her first concert tour at the 8th quarter after releasing her first album in 2001, but DBSK at the 7th in 2004, and SNSD at the 4th last year. SHINee will start their concert tour in July, one month after their debut.”
Kim explained, “Having a tour in arenas accommodating more than 10,000 people means they’ve become popular singers who can make a commercial success. It is taking a shorter time for SM singers to become popular singers, and their concert scale and album sales are also making a big growth.”
SHINee’s second Japanese single Juliette is to be released on 29 August. It is Japanese version of SHINee’s second mini album title song Juliette, which was released in May 2009 and topped all kinds of music charts. As it showcases SHINee’s unique trendy and refined music and performance, it is expected to captivate Japanese music fans.
It is also coupled with Kiss Kiss Kiss, SHINee’s first new Japanese single. Juliette teaser will be made public through EMI Music Japan Youtube channel on 29 July. As ringtones and coloring service will simultaneously start through mobile sites in Japan, the local fans’ interest in SHINee’s new single is expected to increase.
SHINee’s first debut single ‘Replay-you are my everything’, released in June, made the best first week sales record in the category of Korean group debut single and received a gold certificate (for selling more than 100K) from Japan Record Association in the shortest time.
SHINee will start ‘SHINee×NEW SHINY DENIM’ campaign from September as new models for Right-On, a Japanese denim brand.
SHINee have had ‘SHINee Japan Debut Premium Reception’ in five cities, Fukuoka, Tokyo, Kobe, Sapporo, and Nagoya, from 22 July.

SHINee to release first Japanese album "THE FIRST" on November 23rd
SHINee's Japanese label revealed the release of the group's first ever Japanese album through their own website. The album, fittingly titled "THE FIRST", will include SHINee's previously released Japanese singles starting from the first one, "Replay -You Are My Everything-", till the third, "Lucifer".
"THE FIRST" will include 12 songs and will be released in a regular version, a limited, and a special limited box version. The regular version includes a CD as well as a 44-page photo booklet and an extra bonus track called "Stranger", which is an OST song for the drama "Stranger6".
The limited version comes with a 2012 desk calendar and a 68-page photobook with pictures from their stay in London from earlier this year. This version also includes a DVD with "JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM RECEPTION DIGEST MOVIE in JAPAN & LONDON" footage.
The box version comes with an 88-page booklet, a limited edition button, a deluxe CD, DVD and calendar. The box also comes a voucher to download a full MP3 version of the album, a "JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM RECEPTION DIGEST MOVIE in JAPAN" DVD and jacket shooting footage.

After releasing three singles in Japan this past year, it has been announced that SHINee will be releasing their first Japanese album on November 23rd!
Aptly titled “THE FIRST”, this album will include twelve songs, including the already released singles, “Replay – You Are My Everything“, “Juliette” and “Lucifer“. In addition to the regular version, two limited edition packages will be released.
The regular version ($37 USD) will include the CD, a 44-page photo booklet and “Stranger“, SHINee’s OST track for the Japanese drama “Stranger6“.
The limited edition ($50 USD) will include the CD, a 2012 desk calendar, a “JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM RECEPTION DIGEST MOVIE in JAPAN & LONDON” DVD and 68-page photo booklet featuring the quintet’s visit to London earlier this year.
The limited edition box version ($80 USD) will include a deluxe CD, a 88-page photobook, a limited edition button, a full MP3 version of the album, as well as the earlier-mentioned 2012 calendar and DVD with jacket shooting footage.

‎[Info] Release date of SHINee's 1st Japan full-length Album 'THE FIRST' changed from 23 November 2011 to 7 December 2011.
The Korean Cultural Center located in England has announced that the popular idol group SHINee will be performing at the London Korean Film Festival. The group has been recognized as England’s top k-pop act. In fact, they were the first Asian group to perform at Abbey Road Studios before, having garnered a positive response.
The festival will take place from November 3-24th, taking place in London, Cambridge, Sheffield, and Newcastle. 740,000 people are expected to be in attendance.
