Carlos Vela to replace Eduardo?
The Arsenal medical staff have assessed the extent of the damage to Eduardo and hope that he will have a full recovery after nine months.
So who is the man to replace Eduardo?
With RVP apparently soon to be back from injury himself I’m sure he can slot into the left hand side of attack until the end of the season. But this still leaves us very short of attacking options for almost a year.
Will Arsenal go out and sign a striker in the summer? I doubt it.
I feel we already have the prefect replacement for Eduardo and thats Carlos Vela.
Currently on loan to Osasuna,Ars鑞e Wenger has already said that he expects Carlos Vela to be a part of his first-team squad next season. Carlos is a very similar player to Eduardo.Cool in front of goal and naturally left footed.

Budgie: Strip petulant Gallas of Gunners' captaincy
IF I was Arsene Wenger, I would strip William Gallas of his Arsenal captaincy and fine him four weeks' wages.
What was the French defender thinking of when he displayed shocking petulance during the game against Birmingham on Saturday?
When Gael Clichy made a mistake late in the game to gift Birmingham a late penalty equaliser, did you see how Gallas reacted?
He left his team-mates behind, stormed off to the touchline near the team benches, and sulked.
Even after the match was over, Gallas sat on the pitch and refused to enter the dressing room, needing Wenger to come out and coax him inside.
I really want to ask Gallas a few questions: Have you not made a mistake all your life, son? Are you not the captain of your team? Why are you behaving like a spoilt brat?
Wenger defended his man and said Gallas reacted the way he did because he is a winner.
If Gallas is really a winner and a leader of his men, this is what he should have done.
When the mistake was made, he should have gone to Clichy and told him: It's okay, keep your head up.
He should then have gone to goalkeeper Manuel Almunia and encouraged him: Boy, you can save that spot-kick.
ALERT
Then he should have stood right behind the penalty taker and be alert in case Birmingham missed the penalty. He could then be on hand to try and boot it out and save the three points.
Gallas didn't do all that.
The moment the penalty was awarded, Gallas conceded defeat. In his mind, the Gunners had lost.
He didn't trust his team-mate could save the spot-kick.
And by not standing by his team-mates when the chips were down, Gallas showed that he was not worthy of being a captain.
Wenger should boot Gallas out of the team - that idiot didn't want to be there anyway. |

Arsenal's Toure hopeful of making AC Milan clash
Kolo Toure is hopeful that he will shake off a calf injury in time for Arsenals Champions League second leg tie against Milan.
Toure sustained the injury in the early stages of the first leg in the 0-0 draw at Emirates Stadium.
Having missed Saturdays traumatic 2-2 draw at Birmingham City, Toure also expects to sit out the visit of their local rivals Aston Villa to North London on Saturday as he continues his recovery.
"I should be a bit short for Saturday against Aston Villa, however against Milan, fingers crossed, I will be fine," said the Ivory Coast international.
"We are going there to qualify, Milan will be favourites in their stadium, however we have already won there heavily so they will be ready for us.
"We beat Inter 5-1 in the San Siro so we can do it to their fierce rivals." |
