Bendtner faces extended spell out after surgery
Arsenal will be without striker Nicklas Bendtner for week after he had surgery on a groin injury.
The Denmark international was forced off 36 minutes into the Gunners' 3-0 win at home to Tottenham Hotspur on October 31, and his worst fears have been realised with an operation needed to cure the problem.
Bendtner, who has scored just one Premier League goal so far this season, told the Daily Mirror: "I will have an operation. I don't know how long I will be out.''
It is thought he may be out of action for about a month, but his absence should not cause Arsene Wenger too many sleepless nights as Arsenal side have scored more Premier League goals than any other side so far this term.
Robin Van Persie, Francesc Fabregas, Thomas Vermaelen and Andrei Arshavin have all already hit at least four goals in just 11 matches. |
