So, Mr Joe Cole!!!! Quad eh!! Maybe you should have a little more respect for your opponents before spouting off about what you're going to win. I for one would love to see you're tiny little club end up with nothing, not even a european spot. How can you all claim to be a big club when you will never have the history of Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal or Madrid. The likes of Villa and Forest have a more prestigious history than you pretenders. If it wasn't for Abramovich and Mourinio you would still be mid table dreamers, now with Mr Grant you may end up back there.

Avram Grant should look back upon his first final as manager and conclude that the decisions he made were absolutely disastrous. There was speculation before kick-off whether Nicolas Anelka could play alongside Didier Drogba but yesterday was conclusive proof that, whatever Anelka is, he is not a left winger and he is not a right winger.


Joe Cole should have started the match and when he did not he should have come on at half-time or been Chelsea's first substitution. It simply beggars belief that he was not introduced until extra-time.
Anelka is unquestionably a high-class centre-forward but with two minutes to go of extra-time, and with Chelsea desperately trying to save the game, I counted seven Chelsea players in the box, with Wayne Bridge on the left-hand side. One of the few players not in the box was Anelka, who found himself behind Bridge.
Maybe Grant wanted to keep his big players happy but he would have done better trying to keep Joe Cole content because recently he has been without question their best player. Chelsea never got going and up front; they were not positive enough, never had any kind of width and deservedly paid the penalty.

Football is about making big decisions and, even if Tottenham had not won the final, Ramos, tactically, would have come out on top. He made good substitutions at the right time. When he brought on a third centre-back, Ramos ran the risk of allowing Chelsea to come right on to his defence, but he did in such a way that Didier Zokora was able to come through in midfield and he should have finished the game. The introduction of Tom Huddlestone made Tottenham into a more compact, effective unit in midfield.


In this Grant stands in stark contrast to his predecessor. One of Jose Mourinho's greatest qualities was his ability to make quick, decisive substitutions the moment he thought things were not working out. Grant's early record stands comparison with Mourinho's start at Chelsea but not when it comes to changing a game.
