Teru's post-tour post
Hey, I translated Teru's lengthy blog post last night with some reflections about the tour and the last show. Interesting read <3
I'm back at home.
Last night, we arrived at home safely.
It was just 3 days, but it WAS the 3 days US tour.
It was great that for three days, we shared this experience with you and our Glay team even if there also were things that could have been done better.
We became even more confident to keep going.

The last shows for GLAY’s second U.S. Tour “THE GREAT VACATION” are held on September 11 and 12 at Hollywood’s HOUSE OF BLUES in Los Angeles. This is also the last day of GLAY’s 15th Anniversary short tour that started off at NISSAN STADIUM.
This is their second US tour since last year. Although it is only a short tour, making stops at the west coast San Francisco and Los Angeles only, since they have not been very active for a while, it must have been quite a challenge for GLAY to do lives in America.
Sunset Strip, where HOUSE OF BLUES is located, is packed at night due to the weekend crowd. A long line surrounds the live house in the midst of it all. This line stands out from the Sunset Strip crowd because of its high ethnic mix.
At around 9pm, TERU’s call of “Are you ready?!” kicks off the show on the stage they had not been on for over a year. Starting out with “GREAT VACATION,” they are filled with energy.
Court rules in favor of rock band GLAY over copyright ownership
Friday 23rd October, 06:56 AM JST
TOKYO - A Tokyo court ruled Thursday in favor of the Japanese rock band GLAY over the ownership of copyrights on 147 songs and ordered its former management company to pay 670 million yen in back royalties and unpaid contract fees. Tokyo District Court Judge Masayuki Abe recognized the validity of the notice the four-member band sent in 2005 to the company, Unlimited Group, seeking to terminate the contract regarding copyrights on the songs, including the hits ‘‘HOWEVER’’ and ‘‘Glorious.’’
According to the ruling, a contract signed in 1998 between GLAY and Unlimited Group stipulated that the band hand over the copyrights on the songs to the company and receive royalties in return. But the company stopped providing royalty payments around May 2005, leading the band to notify the agency of its intention to terminate the contract.

Idol group AKB48 has finally reached the top. Their 15th and newest single, "RIVER," achieved sales of 179,000 this past week to give them their first number-one hit. The single also sets this year's current record for highest opening week sales by a female artist.
Until now, AKB48 has only ranked as high as #2, which they achieved with their two previous singles, "Namida Surprise!" (released in June) and "Iiwake Maybe" (released in August). "Namida Surprise!" was their best overall seller before this, with 144,000 copies sold in the 18 weeks since its release.
AKB48's competition included new singles by AAA (#2), Ken Hirai (#3), and May'n as the "Macross Frontier" character Sheryl Nome (#5). Kana Nishino ranked #6, while two new "K-On!" image singles also broke the top ten.
On the album charts, GLAY's best album "The Great Vacation Vol.2 ~SUPER BEST OF GLAY~" came out on top with over 122,000 in sales. This is their 11th number-one album, though their last one was nearly three years ago.
Hexagon All Stars ranked #2, and a Quruli tribute album landed at #8. The only other new release in the top ten was "BEST★SCANDAL," the major label debut album by the girl band SCANDAL. At #5, they are the first female band to have a Top 5 debut album since ZONE in 2002.
On the DVD charts, Kumi Koda's new tour DVD sold 59,000 copies to top the rankings. She now has six consecutive number-ones in the music DVD category, which is currently the longest streak by any solo artist.
