YOONA CUTS HER LONG HAIR UNHESITATINGLY TO ACT WELL IN "CINDERELLA MAN"
Yoona has trimmed short her hair which she had kept long since her debut by about 30cm.
The move to cut her hair was to better fit into the role as fashion designer Seo Yeo Jin in the MBC Wednesday-Thursday Drama 'Cinderella Man', set to air at the start of April.
The drama production team suggested that Yoona's originally long hair gave her a soft alluring vibe, which conflicted with the hardy never-say-die tone of the character Seo Yeo Jin who had to eke out a living due to her family circumstances. In order to portray her character well, Yoona unhesitatingly agreed to cut her hair.
The production team also revealed Yoona's strong passion for acting, saying, "Yoona will be acting as the female lead in a mini-drama for the first time, and she was very enthusiastic. Her decision to cut her precious long hair without hesitation is proof of her passion, and has surprised us as we were hesitant to approach her with such a daring suggestion."
Yoona will be cutting down as much as possible her activities as one of the wildly popular SNSD in order to better concentrate on the drama.
Yoona had even undergone 1-to-1 professional training with a fashion designer to better portray her character. The training included fashion design sketching, the use of sewing machine as well as other techniques related to fashion designers. The production team revealed, "Yoona doesn't want to use a double when she's acting as a fashion designer, so she took the initiative to learn how to be like one to act herself in the drama."

SNSD's Yoona and male actor Kwon Sangwoo have been developing great chemistry acting alongside each other in MBC's upcoming drama "Cinderella Man".
At the Newsen press conference on the 27th, Yoona smiled saying, "I've been so busy with the filming of the drama everyday." She followed by adding, "Filming proceeded smoothly and happily for me as the staff and cast treat me very well."
Yoona will be acting as fashion designer Seo Yujin in "Cinderella Man" which is set to air on April 15th.
Besides having great chemistry during the filming, Yoona and Kwon Sangwoo had both been sharing approving comments about each other outside the set as well. Kwon Sangwoo had praised Yoona during a recent Newsen interview, saying, "Looking at Yoona almost makes me feel like seeing Shim Eunha sunbaenim again."
Yoona reciprocated by saying, "I'm thankful to have received much expert help from Kwon Sangwoo in acting." She teased jokingly, "He's been looking so happy and blessed because his son was born not too long ago, so much so that he's been using every opportunity to flash the photo of his newborn son to show off how cute his son is." (how sweet... )
Yoona then became serious and expressed, "I'm actually under a lot of stress and pressure to perform well for the drama." Aware of her heavy involvement in SNSD's "Gee" promotional activites as a member, Yoona fretted, "I'm very worried and anxious about the inadequacy of preparation for the drama." As for her role as Seo Yujin, Yoona commented, "There are bound to be differences in personality because of the age difference, but I will strive hard to make sure that the character I'm portraying will not appear unnatural and awkward as a result of that."
Yoona will be concluding the last of her promotional activites as a member of SNSD with farewell performances at KBS2TV's "Music Bank" on the 27th, MBC's "Show! Music Core" on the 28th and SBS's "Inkigayo" on the 29th.

Released "Cinderella Man" promotional posters attract much attention

MBC's latest Wednesday-Thursday drama "Cinderella Man" featuring popular Hallyu star Kwon Sangwoo and SNSD's Yoona released 5 promotional posters today, and had become much sought after by the netizens due to their unique and extravagant designs which set them apart from other dramas' posters.
One of the five released promotional posters (topmost) was created by photomanipulating two different images of Kwon Sangwoo, representing the two different drama personalities he's portraying. On the left stood bespectacled Lee Junhee, the wealthy third generation heir of a famous fashion company, while on the right stood Oh Daesun, a poor low level part timer in the Dongdaemun (East Gate) shopping area. Kwon Sangwoo's maiden challenge to act out two strikingly different roles in a single drama had been drawing much attention from the masses.
Meanwhile, posters comprising of the main cast of Kwon Sangwoo, Yoona, Song Changui and Han Eunjung exuded pure "fashion" sense and feel. The vivid and extravagant array of designs, images and colours also serve to uplift the mood and positive vibes given off by the posters.
"Cinderella Man", written by Jo Yunyeong of "Save the Last Dance for Me" fame and directed by Yu Jeongjun who had also produced "Rebirth - the Next" drama, is set to air on April 15th.
