Fabianski - My thoughts on my Premier League debut
Lukasz Fabianski was satisfied with his Premier League debut at Derby on Monday.
The 23-year-old Polish keeper had a busy night at Pride Park in Arsenal's 6-2 win, it was his first experience in English football outside the Carling Cup.
"It was really intense," said Fabianski afterwards. "Derby are at the bottom of the League but they were going forward and trying to create some chances.
"I thought I dealt with it OK. My coming for crosses was OK, my punching was OK and my catching was OK. The boss spoke to me after the game he said 'well done'."
It was also Fabianski's first appearance since the 5-1 defeat at White Hart Lane in the Carling Cup Semi-Final second leg.
"It is painful when you lose a game against your biggest rivals," he said. "Especially when you conceded five goals. But I have forgotten about that and I am looking forward.
"I hope that the experience of this season will give the team a little bit extra for next season. We will be more mature, more experienced and that will help us to win something." |

Cesc hints Arsenal lack killer instinct
tribalfootball.com - April 30, 2008
Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has hinted they must find a killer instinct if they're to win honours next season.
"We can see the games against Birmingham City at home [1-1], Birmingham away [2-2] and Aston Villa at home [1-1] where we can regret that we didn't get more points," Fabregas said. "If we could have had these points that normally if you want to win the title you have to get, then we would be at the top.
"But we can learn from it. Definitely. Because we are young, because we want to play, because we are hungry for titles. We will improve for next season. In fact, I would say that it has already started for us. In our last two games we know that we have started a new season. For us, it is now." |
