It was you who made presumptions regarding the F-22 maximum speed. Not I.

Originally posted by tin at 25-2-2009 12:56 AM

now, the question is, If the F-22 top speed is still classified information, how do you know that it is in the vicinity of Mach 2.5 in the first place???

oh, BTW guess what?

QUOTE:
US Congress passes $487.7 defence spending bill, slashes aircraft

The US Congress today passed defence spending bills slashing funds for the Lockheed Martin F-35 and Lockheed/AugstaWestland VH-71 presidential helicopter, and also left the Lockheed F-22 and Boeing C-17 production lines still in a state of programmatic purgatory.

A joint conference committee passed the $487.7 billion defense appropriations for fiscal 2009, marking a 6.1% increase over the FY08 budget but $4 billion less than the Bush Administration’s request.

The spending proposal, if enacted upon review by the White House, would strike two blows at the F-35 programme.

First, the bill would cut one aircraft each for the US Air Force and the US Navy from the FY09, reducing the overall count from 16 F-35s to 14.

Second, Congressional appropriators added language urging the USN to request funds in FY10 for signing a third multi-year procurement deal for Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornets, citing concerns about a fighter shortfall until F-35Cs are delivered.

anddddd...

QUOTE:
Concerning the development schedule for the F-35, a March 2008 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report on the F-35 program states, “Three independent defense offices separately concluded that ... the [F-35 program] development schedule is likely to slip from 12 to 27 months.”

This is only a minor adjustment to production rate.
Probably due to the economic downturn. Since other nations are a long way behind in stealth fighter development, this small production cutback is something the US can afford
If anything , this report only affirms tha usnavy抯 ultimate intention of operating F-35s.

How do you know the Serbian MiG-29 is not armed with R-27T or R-73?

another speculation eh?

How do you know they were armed with R-27T ? How do you know their missiles were still functional ? Is it just speculation ?

Due to economic sanctions which denied them the fundings needed for maintainance, the Yugoslav air force was already in a terrible state of direpair for many years when NATO decided to attack them .

and I am still waiting for the list of kills made by any fighters using BVRAAM at speeds Mach 2.5 and above

Well you can keep on waiting.

I am not the one who brought up this argument.
If anybody has to furnish evidence concerning this subject, its you.
Where is the proof that total sparrow and phoenix kills are smaller than sidewinders ?

ok, sikalang cuba buat research. berapa tahun lifespan R-27?  jangan speculate taww

baik. the Yugoslav air force was already in a terrible state of direpair for many years when NATO decided to attack them. however, to fire heat seeking missile, does a fighter aircraft needs a radar?

jawab jgn tak jawab

ye la tu minor adjustment

the Congress wants USN to acquire 89 SH laaa... but according to CNO USN, it can go up to 200 planes.

so minor aaaa...

well, you are the one who said:

but the point I am making is : In the non-stealth era, priority number one must always be to possess a greater no escape zone by having a combination of high speed fighters and long range missiles.

since F-15 and MiG 25 can attain Mach 2.5, they must make lots of kills at that speed using BVRAAM  as according to you, combination of high speed fighters and long range missiles = a greater no escape zone. see the logic here?

ok la. if you cannot furnish any kills made at Mach 2.5, how about Mach 2.0? or Mach 1.8 even?

as for the question of where is the proof that total sparrow and phoenix kills are smaller than sidewinders, like I said before make your own research laa... prove that I'm wrong and that the sparrow air to air kills and Pheonix air to air kills is much bigger than sidewinder air to air kills

Who told you F-22 maximum speed is not in the vicinity of mach 2.5 ?

you are insinuating that you know the max speed of F-22.

are you telling me that you're bluffing? you know or not the max speed of F-22?

Aku sendiri yang akan tentukan sama ada nak jawab atau tidak.

Now I would like to know why Yugoslavian migs did not launch any R-27T. Was it because their missiles were no longer functional or was it because their IRST were out of order ?
Maybe both of the above.
