KUALA LUMPUR, July 18 ― Ukraine authorities have recovered 121 bodies at the site of crashed Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in the country’s eastern region of Donetsk, news agency ITAR-TASS reported today.

According to the news agency, the Ukrainian State Service of Emergency Situations reported the discovery.

“As many as 121 people were found dead at the air crash site at 7am local time on July 18. Ninety-five emergency workers and 18 units of machinery are involved in the search-and-rescue operation,” the agency’s press service was quoted saying.

Malaysia is five hours ahead of Ukraine.

Flight MH17 crashed late last night and is believed to have been shot down by a Russian-made air defence missile.

A notice posted by the UK's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)on 14 June urged carriers to avoid overflying Crimea and parts ofsouthern Ukraine a month ago due to safety concerns, but they were notordered to avoid the rest of the country.
Airlines were asked notto overfly Crimea, the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov due to thepotential for conflicting air traffic control instructions betweenUkrainian and Russian authorities. It added: "Operations are normal inall other Ukrainian FIRs [flight information regions]."

"Based on the information currently available, it is believed that theairspace that the aircraft was traversing was not subject torestrictions," said the International Air Transport Association.

It also emerged that as recently as a month ago British airlines weregiven the all-clear to overfly the area where flight MH17 was downed,after being told that operations were "normal" in the region.

ikut konvensi antarabangsa ukraine yg kena lead investigasi itu, yakninya kotak hitam itu wajib di beri kepada ukraine, kalau ukraine enggan malaysia(airliner), UK (engine pesawat), US(boeing) yg bertanggunjawab sama menyiasat.

negara2 yg ada mangsa boleh jadi observer.

kalau russia langgar konvensi ini, aviasi mereka boleh kena suspend.

Ada tak sapa sapa yg ada namelist penumpang?? Aku nak chk klu passenger by the name Mr Sander Moors/Mrs Laura  Moors, Mrs Elizabeth Tammes. Depa sepatutnya arrive today but they didn't turn up & none of us can locate them. Sepatutnya naik Emirates but checking with Emirates their name is not on the list. Suspected depa ni amik MAS. Oh!! pls Allah!! jgnlah depa amik MAS yg kena tembak tu.

negara yg patut lead investigasi ini adalah ukraine, tempat kejadian disaster.
malaysia(airliner), UK(engine RR) dan US(boeing) membantu sama.

bukan hak tanah air nak pergi rampas kotak hitam itu. if anything ukraine yg bertanggungjawab. jikalau russia enggan bagi kotak hitam kepada ukraine atau 3 negara lagi itu, aviasi mereka boleh kena suspend.

RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STATE
OF OCCURRENCE

General

3.2 The State of Occurrence shall take all reasonable measures to protect the evidence and to maintain safe
custody of the aircraft and its contents for such a period as may be necessary for the purposes of an investigation.
Protection of evidence shall include the preservation, by photographic or other means of any evidence which might be
removed, effaced, lost or destroyed. Safe custody shall include protection against further damage, access by
unauthorized persons, pilfering and deterioration.

Note 1.— Control over the wreckage is dealt with in 5.6.

Note 2.— Protection of flight recorder evidence requires that the recovery and handling of the recorder and its
recordings be assigned only to qualified personnel.


Request from State of Registry, State of the Operator,
State of Design or State of Manufacture

3.3 If a request is received from the State of Registry, the State of the Operator, the State of Design or the State
of Manufacture that the aircraft, its contents, and any other evidence remain undisturbed pending inspection by an
accredited representative of the requesting State, the State of Occurrence shall take all necessary steps to comply with
such request, so far as this is reasonably practicable and compatible with the proper conduct of the investigation;
provided that the aircraft may be moved to the extent necessary to extricate persons, animals, mail and valuables, to
prevent destruction by fire or other causes, or to eliminate any danger or obstruction to air navigation, to other
transport or to the public, and provided that it does not result in undue delay in returning the aircraft to service where
this is practicable.


Release from custody

3.4 Subject to the provisions of 3.2 and 3.3, the State of Occurrence shall release custody of the aircraft, its
contents or any parts thereof as soon as they are no longer required in the investigation, to any person or persons duly
designated by the State of Registry or the State of the Operator, as applicable. For this purpose the State of
Occurrence shall facilitate access to the aircraft, its contents or any parts thereof, provided that, if the aircraft, its
contents, or any parts thereof lie in an area within which the State finds it impracticable to grant such access, it shall itself effect removal to a point where access can be given.
