Shraddha reminds me of Waheeda, Madhubala: Shakti Kapoor
Actor Shakti Kapoor appreciates his daughter Shraddha Kapoor's talent saying she reminds him of legendary actress Waheeda Rehman and Madhubala. He also confesses that she is so intelligent that he ends up taking advise from her.
"I don't interfere in anybody's life and never at the script level," said Shakti, who is married to Shivangi, Padmini Kolhapure's elder sister. They have two children - Shraddha and Siddhant, who was seen in "Shootout At Wadala".
"If she needs my advice, she is welcome. But she is a very intelligent girl, she studied at the Boston University. On the contrary, if I am in some problem, I take her advice," the 54-year-old said here Tuesday on the sets of his film "Ishk Ka Manjan".
"Today's youth know more than we know and I can only give her my experience," he added.
Sharddha hit the bull's eye with "Aashiqui 2" and Shakti says he is proud of her.
"I am happy that her film has done well and as a father I am very proud to see a very good actor. I am not saying this because she is my daughter but actually she is a very good actor. She reminds me of natural acting what Madhubalaji or Meena Kumariji used to do," Shakti said.
"She reminds me of Waheedaji, of those era actors who were not just beautiful, but their acting also was very natural. There was no artificiality. She reminds me even of Madhuri Dixit, the innocent Padmini Kolhapure of 'Prem Rog'. I wish her all the best," he added.
"Aashiqui 2" was Shraddha's first hit after dam squibs "Teen Patti" and "Luv Ka The End". She is currently shooting for Punit Malhotra's "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein".
As the rains lash the city, soak in some unforgettably sensuous monsoon moments from Bollywood
As the first drops of rain brought relief and succour to Mumbaiites, it was a moment for many of us to curl up with a cup of tea to watch the pitter-patter of the monsoon kick up a storm on rooftops. And with that came flooding, flashes of rain-drenched moments from Bollywood film over the years. Several of our B-town actresses have shimmied in their barely-there sarees, grooving to the beats of the incessant rains.
Aashiqui 2 (2013)
Irshad Kamil’s lyrics effectively capture the mood in the chartbuster Tum Hi Ho. The rain in the background acted as a catalyst for the characters, played by Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, to fall in love. And that’s exactly what they do.
Agneepath (2012)
Keep this action film on one side and the O Saiyyan on another to find a semblance between the two. Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra seemed to be immersed in a world so different from the one they inherit when the song comes to an end. Beautiful song, beautifully executed.
Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010)
In a bid to go with the era this gangster film is set in, Kangna Ranaut appeared in a dark red chiffon sari in a song-dance sequence. Despite the heavy shower, the actress looked picture-perfect. The strong gale had failed to displace even her red bindi, and she looked hot, alright.
3 Idiots (2009)
The chemistry between Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor was evidently missing in this highest grossing Bollywood film of all time. Until the rain song happened. With Kareena in her rich orange sari and sleeveless blouse, the temperature had to rise. Aided with Aamir’s expressions, Zoobi Doobi remained etched in our memories.
De Dana Dan (2009)
In this Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer comedy, the Gale Lag Ja track was perhaps the only watch-worthy sequence in the film. Both the actors embodied passion was palpable and the actress draped in an orange (again!) sari just took one’s breath away.
Wake Up Sid (2009)
It takes a good rainfall for the female protagonist to come to terms with the love she has for her guy. Iktara, sung by Kavita Seth, made the perfect ode to a romance that was just about blooming between the lovebirds, convincingly essayed by Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma.
Gauri Khan to debut opposite SRK, Priyanka Chopra in Silsila remake?
There are more than 1000 films produced every year in India, however, only a few films stay in heart of the audience forever. As we celebrate 100 years of cinema, we at Dailybhaskar.com, feel there are several evergreen films that deserve to be remade. In this series, we will give you a list of movies that we think should be remade and also the new stars who can play the iconic characters in the films.
Amitabh, Jaya Bachchan and Rekha created ripples with their film Silsila in 1981. The film was released at a time when everyone was talking about the alleged relationship between Rekha and Amitabh. However, Silsila bombed at the box office, but it has its own significance in the history of Indian cinema.
Now, it was not easy to finalize the actors for Silsila remake, but we again zeroed on Shah Rukh Khan. This time not because the King Khan is always over excited to act in a remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s film, but the recent rumors of his link ups with Priyanka Chopra earned him this role.
Silsila remake is incomplete without Gauri Khan playing the role of Shobha (Jaya Bachchan). And when SRK and Gauri both are there then how can Priyanka Chopra say no to the role of Chandni (Rekha). Everyone knows that there was no substance in those rumored link-ups, we are sure that the three will not have any problem in coming together for the film.
There is only one man who can handle all these three celebrities together and will also deliver a masterpiece. Friend of the entire Bollywood industry (From KRK to SRK) Karan Johar is perfect to director for this film.
We understand that Gauri Khan is not interested in acting, however, she can give a special appearance in the remake of Silsila. Karan Johar, who is a close friend of Gauri, can also tweak her role according to her demands. Also Karan and Gauri can co-produce the film. For those who have doubts about Gauri Khan’s acting skills, check out her TVCs with hubby Shah Rukh Khan.
With Shah Rukh Khan on board, history won’t repeat itself and the film will be a hit. We trust your marketing skills, SRK.
There was a famous dialogue in original Silsila, “Mai aur meri tanhaai – aksar ye baatein karte hai….” However, in the remake Gauri Khan will deliver this dialogue but in a different style.
Gauri (clever modern wife), who has hint about SRK-Priyanka relationship, will post this dialogue on Priyanka’s (cleverer modern girlfriend) facebook account from SRK’s facebook account. However, Priyanka (who also has SRK’s facebook password) will understand the trick.
Gauri will use such tactics to know about what’s cooking up between SRK and Priyanka. Later Shah Rukh Khan will understand that Gauri is her true love and will leave Priyanka. But Priyanka will not take it lightly.
You are in trouble SRK because Babli is seriously badmash!!!!
