IN the past it was chain letters sent by anonymous senders implying that you will suffer misfortune if you do not forward the letters to others.
Now in the age of technology, handphone users have been warned not to reply to SMS messages from strangers with a long list of telephone numbers listed.
Harian Metro said the message from the unknown numbers, which usually contained more than eight digits, bore messages that the recipient would die from santau or black magic.
The paper said the rumours of death through technology, was first detected in Indonesia.
The warnings were found to be fakes after Indonesian police arrested a teenager, who admitted to spreading one such SMS message to her friend as a joke.

camni kesnyer.. yg aku dengar dari mak aku ler.. makcik akunyer abg ipar punyer isteri yg kena.. kira biras ler..
memula si siteri dapat calling.. dia cakaplah kat suami dia ada nombor panjang kaler merah calling dia...
tak sempat suami dia halang.. si isteri dah angkat.. cakap hello! hello! takder org balas katanya.. si suami dah suh letak tepon tuh.. letak cepat... kata si suami tuh.. terus ler si siteri letak..
esoknya si siteri muntah2 darah..
perkara yg sama gak berlaku kat kawan aku punya family ler.. dapat calling 15no kaler merah... angkat jerk.. pastu terus muntah2 darah sesumer..
tapi sampai tahap mati tuh aku tak tau ler.. sbb cam makcik akunyer biras tuh tgh berubat skrg katanya.. |
