Future MPA for RMN/RMAF...

Me like C-295 Persuader. 2 turboprop engines for endurance (12 hours flying), better low level flying characteristics, low fuel consumption. commonality with existing C-235 fleet, good cargo carrying capability, a ramp (important in seach and rescue mission), a good weapon carrying capability (a mixture of both ASM and lightweight torpedoes can be fitted on 6 underwing hardpoints)

C-295 Persuader's FITS airborne tactical control stations. Usually, 2 control stations are needed for MPA mission while ASW missions requires 4 or more stations.




Crew rest area. MPA can patrol for a long extended of time and sometimes requires two sets of crews.

P-3 - US + old frame

EMB - enjin jet tak cukup endurance

C295 - aku suka tapi no customer

So aku prefer CN235 tapi EW suite and radar customise la

C-295 no customer? Really?

I thought Spanish AF bought nine C-295M,  Polish AF eight, Brazilian AF 12, Swiss Air Force two and the Royal Jordanian Air Force, two. Venezuela also ordered ten C-295 transport aircraft.

As for the MPA version,  United Arab Emirates Navy ordered four C-295 Persuader under Shaheen 1 program.

endurance is not too important,the craft can be refuelled in the mid air..the avionic n sensors r most important..

CN295 la..buat kat indonesia kan? spare parts pun senang..yg lain2 mahal..ada ke nak suruh pakai nimrod? nimrod tu tahun bila la? nak masuk grand daddy.....

If you guys manage to read PERAJURIT's March edition you will find a article on CN-235 simulator at Subang.  In that article it is mentioned that one CN-235 from 1 Sqn is currently being modified as a MPA.

have u seen any MPA with fuelling probe............or have u seen any MPA conducting air to air refuelling.........???

BANDUNG, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has expressed interest in using the Indonesian-supplied CN-235 military transport aircraft for maritime patrol.

RMAF chief Jen Datuk Seri Nik Ismail Nik Mohamed said the plane would be suitable to patrol the Strait of Melaka and Malaysian waters with some modifications and installation of additional equipment.

"The RMAF still requires aircraft for patrolling Malaysian territorial waters and we find the CN-235 already has a good platform," he said.

However, the Malaysian government had not made any decision on purchasing the plane for maritime surveillance, he told Malaysian reporters after receiving a CN-235 VIP model from PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), the manufacturer of the plane, at the PRDI hangar here.

Also present were Indonesian Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Sugiharto and PTDI first director M. Nuril Fuad.

The CN-235, a short take-off and landing aircraft powered by two turboprop engines, was developed jointly by Spanish company EADS CASA and Dirgantara.

Malaysia ordered eight of the planes, two for VIP transport, at a total cost of US$140 million (RM523.6 million). The first plane was delivered in 1999 and the final Tuesday.

Nik Ismail said the RMAF was satisfied with the aircraft's performance and there was no major problem even though some of the planes had flown 4,000 hours.

He said RMAF had taken over maintenance of the planes although it still sourced spare parts from PTDI and from time to time sent personnel to the Indonesian company for training.

Saya rasa MPA mesti penuh dgn sensor. MAD and surface search radar. CN-235 boleh bawa semua ke? If possilbe even juga pylons for torpedo and ASM.

fuiyooo... endurance tak penting, wa cakap lu....

endurance la paling penting. macam ni la. kereta hang gila punya laju, tapi tangki kecik je. baru lari 50km, dah kena isi minyak balik. apa susah. stesen minyak kan banyak.

nope. tak ada CN-295. C-295 ada la. yang buat kat Indon tu CN-235.

usia design tak penting. janji dia boleh function dengan baik dan diupdate serta upgrade selalu.

Juga sebab memandangkan bajet ciput, flying tanker ada berapa biji aje, nak kena support fighter lagi.....
