Manchester City outcast Joe Hart was left feeling deflated following an ill-fated 2-1 defeat in the FA Cup fourth round.
In their wisdom, City fans carpeted Hart's box at Bramall Lane with a sea of sky blue balloons.
Blades' winger Lee Martin looped in a cross which hit two of them, bamboozling City defender Michael Ball in the process. Jamaican striker Luton Shelton was left with the easiest of chances to sidefoot the opening goal.
Then City manager Sven Goran Eriksson was equally bemused. 'I've never seen a goal like it before,' said the normally unflappable Swede.

CL Preview..
AZ Alkmaar v Arsenal, Tuesday 20 October, 19.45
After two consecutive defeats in Manchester, Arsenal have put togetheran impressive seven game winning streak in all competitions.
They have rattled the net an incredible 39 times this season but questions still remain over their fragile defence.
A win in Holland would practically secure qualification for The Gunnerswho have arguably been given the easiest Champions League group out ofall the English sides.
Team news
Theo Walcott is out for a month after Liam Ridgewell's crunching tackleinjured the England winger in Arsenal's 3-1 victory against Birmingham.
Nicklas Bendtner and Tomas Rosicky will also miss Tuesday's clash withAZ Alkmaar along with long-term absentees Samir Nasri, Denilson andJohan Djourou.
Gael Clichy, who picked up a knock while on international duty, is passed fit.
Last time round
Arsenal dominated Greek champions Olympiakos for the whole match buthad to rely on two late goals from Robin van Persie and Andrei Arshavinto secure victory.
Opponents
Dutch manager Louis van Gaal led AZ Alkmaar to the Eredivisie titlelast season despite strong competition from Steve McClaren's FC Twente.
After winning the title van Gaal left the club for German side BayernMunich, former Barcelona player Ronald Koeman was appointed AZ's newmanager.
Renowned for their attacking style they have been compared to the "Dutch Arsenal" by AZ Alkmaar defender Kew Jaliens.
Despite their free flowing style of football, AZ have endured a difficult start to the season.
After losing to Olympiakos and only managing to get a point againstStandard Liege they are bottom of Group H. Their domestic form is alsopoor, with them languishing in sixth place, 11 points behind leaders FCTwente.

Arsene: Robin’s our Van Basten
ROBIN VAN PERSIE is just like Dutch legend Marco van Basten.
That is the view of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger after seeing his Holland striker hit a fifth goal in six games in Saturday's 3-1 win over Birmingham.
Van Persie, 26, returns to his homeland tonight to face AZ Alkmaar in the Champions League.
And Wenger said: "He is much stronger physically now. I think he's a Van Basten type - he's a technical centre-forward.
"He has that classy first touch, sharp movement and a short back-lift. I always thought he was more a first striker than second striker."
Hitman Van Basten scored 24 goals in 58 internationals for Holland.

Anything for Wenger to worry about?
YES, he could be without the services of Theo Walcott for a while.
The nippy England winger made his first start of the season and looked sprightly before a crunching tackle from Liam Ridgewell quite literally brought him back down to earth.
Arsene Wenger was not amused.
'I felt it was a tackle meant to impress,' he said afterwards.
'I want to see it again, but that's my first impression.
'It looked quick and hard and I don't know if he wanted to play the ball, but he certainly went through him.'
Walcott managed to play on, but was finally forced to limp off after little over half an hour.
'The fact that he says he felt unsteady when he was running is not good news,' grimaced Wenger.
'We don't know much is down to the kick and how much is down to the fact he twisted his ligament, but we will reassess soon.' |
