Kimutaku in new Sankei Express CM

SMAP's Takuya Kimura is appearing in new commercials for Sankei Express, a daily morning paper affiliated with Sankei Shimbun. The commercials are being broadcast on Fuji TV in the Kanto region. Broadcast begins on the 29th.
The paper, which launched last November, is notable for its compact size and high quality paper. It is currently popular among young people.
Kimura's commercials promote the paper's 7-day free trial campaign. He plays the role of an ordinary businessman who starts reading the paper and gains extraordinary powers by the end of the week.

Kokubun to host new variety show

Taichi Kokubun of idol group TOKIO has been announced as a host of NHK's new variety program "Kaitai Shin Show." Including this show, Kokubun will be a regular on six different programs.
The show's focus is using science to explain the mysteries of the human body. Announcer Yuka Kubota will be Kokubun's co-host.
"Kaitai Shin Show" will air on Saturdays at 10:00pm, starting on April 14.

new release: Takuya Kimura (SMAP)
Takuya Kimura in Bushi no Ichibun w/ English Subs
Director Yoji Yamada's "Bushi no Ichibun," the follow up to previous samurai trilogy films "Tasogare no Seibei" and "Kakushi Ken Oni no Tsume," is coming soon to DVD. This time around, Takuya Kimura plays the main role as a blind samurai.
Shinnojo Mimura became blind while working as a food-taster for his master. Though he had once given up hope and attempted suicide, he stopped himself for the sake of his beautiful wife, Kayo (Rei Dan). However, he finds Kayo is secretly meeting Shimada, a high-samurai samurai, in the hopes of finding financial support to maintain the house for Shinnojo. While Kayo's sacrifice for Shinjo leaves him with nothing but agony, Shinnojo moves closer to his destiny.
The film features English Subtitles. Limited edition includes two bonus discs with making-of documentary, feature on sword battling, promotional video, award-acceptance footage, interview with Takuya Kimura, and more.
Also check out the upcoming combined soundtrack for the three films in Yoji Yamada's samurai trilogy, including unreleased music from "Bushi no Ichibun"!

FamilyMart announces tie-in with Arashi film
Fri, March 23, 2007 (4:46am EDT)
A FamilyMart store in Toshima, Tokyo is participating in a joint PR campaign with the upcoming film, "Kiiroi Namida," which stars the members of popular Johnny's group Arashi.
Arashi member Sho Sakurai visited the convenience store on Thursday for a publicity event. The shop will be selling a special menu of four dishes that appear in the movie, including spaghetti napolitan (said to be one of Sakurai's favorite foods). Since the film is set in 1963, the store is aiming to reproduce the flavor of that time.
FamilyMart will start selling the foods on April 3, the day before the release of "Kiiroi Namida."
