MBC The God of Victory (Shinhwa vs. 2PM) to be broadcast on Sunday, August 19th
Nichkhun will be edited out for the upcoming Shinhwa vs. 2PM special on ‘God of Victory’
On the upcoming episode of MBC‘s ‘God of Victory‘ featuring an intense battle between first generation idol group Shinhwa and beastly idol group 2PM, it has been confirmed that the scenes featuring Nichkhun will be edited out.
On the 27th, the PD of the show confirmed, “On the September 2nd episode of ‘God of Victory’ featuring Shinhwa and 2PM, we will try to edit out Nichkhun’s parts as much as possible. We will try to edit [Nichkhun] as much as possible to prevent any interruption of the program’s momentum.”
This episode was recorded a few months ago back on May, prior to Nichkhun’s DUI accident on July 24th. On this special episode to be aired on September 2nd, the two respective groups will be competing against each other for ten fierce rounds of competitive games.
Fans of 2PM will unfortunately have to wait a bit longer for the group’s comeback.
2PM previously mentioned news of a September comeback. However, due to the recent controversy surrounding member Nichkhun, 2PM had to stand on stage as a five-member group during the ‘JYP Nation‘ concerts and also had to juggle changes to their comeback date. Nichkhun halted his activities to take some time to reflect on himself before returning to his fans and the public. A fixed comeback date has not been decided as of yet.
A representative of JYP Entertainment revealed, “Nichkhun is still taking the time to reflect on himself at the dorm. He has feelings of deep regret and is self-reflecting on his actions.”
Due to his recent DUI charge, 2PM‘s Nichkhun will be paying a 4 million KRW fine (~ 3,524 USD).
The statement was released on August 30th by the Seoul Supreme Prosecutor’s Office: “Nichkhun already reached a settlement with the other party. There were no serious injuries, and his blood alcohol level was low, so the case was settled with a summary judgement (settled by a judge with no jury involved). There were no further investigations.”
Nichkhun was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of 0.056% on July 24th after a small accident occurred on his way home.
2PM’s Junho breaks the most chopsticks with his butt on ‘God of Victory’
Shinhwa‘s Jun Jin and 2PM‘s Junho battled it out on MBC‘s ‘God of Victory‘.
The September 9th broadcast of ‘God of Victory’ aired the second half of the ‘Beastly Idols’ Competition’.
It was here the boys played a game called ‘Breaking Chopsticks With Butts’ where the boys attempted to break the most chopsticks with their rear ends in under 15 seconds. Shinhwa and 2PM were both successful in the second round, but 2PM’s Chansung failed in the second round, and Shinhwa’s Andy failed in the third, leaving the final battle to take place between Jun Jin and Junho.
Jun Jin and Junho ended up breaking so many chopsticks that they ran out of them in the end, and every time they yelled out a different number, the scene of the judges frantically counting the number of broken chopsticks evoked laughter amongst the audience members.
Preparing for this game took anywhere from 10-15 minutes, but the game was over in 3 to 6 seconds, and this situation was repeated again and again until 2PM’s Junho broke 28 chopstick pairs. Jun Jin then attempted to break 33 but failed, and thus the victory went to 2PM over Shinhwa.

On October 16th, 2PM‘s Junsu announced via his Twitter that he will be changing his name.
He tweeted the following tweets,
'BECAUSE OF A FAMILY MATTER, IT WAS DECIDED TO CHANGE MY NAME. OFFICIAL STAGE NAME WILL BE "JUN. K" AS IT WAS BEFORE BUT THE REAL NAME HAS CHANGED TO "MIN-JUN". JUNSU WILL NO LONGER BE USED IN THE FUTURE.'
He also wrote the same message in Japanese and in Korean. He didn’t explain the sudden change of name except that it was because of ‘a family matter’. The singer explained that he would be keeping his solo name of JUN.K, but did not elaborate if his name in 2PM would change from ‘Junsu’ to ‘Minjun’.
Why do you think he went through the sudden change in name?

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here like this.
Everyone is doing well right? I am doing well.. Nowadays I’ve been spending lots of time at the work room..^^
What I want to tell everyone is nothing other than that I have changed my real name.
I know there’s many people that are confused.
Since early this year, my family has given their opinion to change my name, and I’ve been worrying, thinking about it for a few months, including our CEO Jinyoung hyung, manager, our company staff etc.; we’ve been thinking and worrying about it all this while.
In the end, I think that following my family’s opinion is the right thing to do and I changed my name to “Minjun”.
For my official stage name, I will go by the name Jun.K.
Everyone, I’m so sorry for confusing everyone so suddenly. But I do believe that (the fans) will understand the situation I’m currently in more than anyone else will.
I believe in our HOTTEST and I am always thankful to you guys^^
Suddenly the weather has been cold. Do go around wearing warm clothes!!
While anticipating the day we can meet.. Then, I will go now…
I will come here frequently^^
