Leon and Jonathan Lee cooperating on a Mandarin album A Story will be released tomorrow. In the album, Jonathan makes a brand new Leon.
Why did Leon asked Jonathan to cooperate? He said, "I felt that it was time for me to make some changes on music, so I told him 'I want to change, but how, is decided by you'." As a musician, Jonathan described himself as a western doctor in the past. When the singers stand in a bottleneck position, he helps them with a powerful injection and helps them embark again. But working with Leon, he changed to an oriental doctor. He slowly used methods to allow Leon to make changes.
In order for Leon to make new changes on music and besides choosing songs, Jonathan recommended him to leave noisy HK to record in Beijing. During the two months of recording, Leon spent an ordinary life. It was very orderly like riding his bike back home for dinner at 6pm each night.
After the cooperation, Leon and Jonathan understands each other a lot more. Leon said, "I feel that 'Dai Gor' is like a big music tree. Very solid, have many feelings, and needs a woman's hug. When he is happy, he'll throw a sweet fruit for the people around him to try." And how does Jonathan feels about Leon? He smiled and said, "I feel that Leon is a pure person. Through so many years, his childish behavior still exists. I also feel that he understands the environment sufferings, is very open-minded, and extremely persistence in regards to music."
When mentioning the first plug song Have a Lover from the album, Jonathan said that he hopes from Leon's voice can express many men's aspirations. For example, everybody does not want to be a man with burden but want to have a lover. Only that many things develop what people expects. Does Leon have a lover? Jonathan joked, "Then must have to ask his girlfriend!"

Leon's all new Mandarin album A Story is released throughout Asia today. Yesterday, he attended a press conference in Taipei which attracted 50 journalists. The event also arranged 200+ fans to witness the birth of the album.
Leon appeared in a casual shirt paired with jeans. Although flying in early to Taipei, he looks like in good spirits. Responsible for releasing the TW version of the album, Vogue Elements president Li Wen Da presented Leon an ice sculpture implying cooperation from both sides to prosperity and new album sales a hit.
There were some lucky fans who got to meet Leon up close and exchange gifts. A female fan gave Leon a mosquito repellant which made him laugh. Actually, the female fan is sad that Leon gets bitten by mosquitos while filming so she presented him a mosquito repellant. Another female fan gave a model home to Leon. She hopes Leon gets married and have a family, because she is married and feels very happy. After listening, Leon only smiled and then autographed new album posters in exchange with the fans. There was a happy female fan who got to hold Leon's waist which immediately created cheers among the fans.
Leon was faced with continuous questions from the TW journalists regarding whether or not he has a lover. Leon said that he have five accurate answers. It includes 1: Yes, I have a lover but I'm not telling you. 2: I have one before, but don't have one now. 3: I really don't have one right now 4: Temporarily do not have one. 5: I don't want to discuss about this question. He allowed everyone to choose from the five answers which he doesn't have an opinion on.

Leon Lai Concert Report ~ part 1
Ini adalah report konsert Leon Lai yg dilaporkan oleh salah seorang Leon's fan yg turut menghadiri konsert Leon Crazy Classic Live 2005 pada 10 sehingga 15 Okotber 2005 yg lalu. Thus, anda boleh baca... tapi kalo nak copy, sorry... sila bagitau aku dulu, thus aku boleh contact pengarang nya yg original. Tq!
OPENING
The lights dim.
The audience screams.
Chapman To appears in the middle of the coliseum,
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Leon Crazy Classic Concert."
and he repeats in Mandarin, Japanese, Thai, and finally in Cantonese,
"Ladies and Gentlemen,(screams)
[14/10 version: Donald Tsang's concert (laughter), oops wrong...]
[15/10 version: The last night. (screams)]
Leon's concert officially starts now!!" (Screams)
Then the ambient music changes into a classic symphonic music, and Leon begins to sing There is not a day that I do not think of you. But where is Leon? He appears on the long vertical screen that stretches almost from the ceiling to the stage (imagine a giant Leon towering over the coliseum), but he is not on the stage yet. When the song goes to the second verse, then he comes up to the stage. Of course, that's the part where the audience screams!
2nd attempt at capturing the sea of fluorescent lights - a bit over-exposed though... but at least you could see the lights at the "peaks" too.
After the first song, the rearranged music (still recognisable) of Unacknowledged Romance rings out and Leon begins the song by immediately going into its chorus.
At this point, let's mention about the atmosphere on the last day of the concert. It is the night with the most fluorescent lights and the most responsive audience with the most, loudest and longest screams (You will have a better idea as you read along). Before the concert begins, you can already feel the "high" in the air. Whenever Leon sings a song, he will turn to face different audience at different times. It is phenomenal that wherever he turns to, you can see and hear the roar of the audience from that side, like a wave being conjured up by Magician Lai in the already turbulent sea.
Just when Leon disappears from the stage and the sea calms down a bit, two bubbles pop up from the two ends of the stage and slowly moves towards each other, followed by two more, and two more.
Then, when the music changes and the last two bubbles with acrobats inside are lifted up, Leon, in white shirt with black furry sleeves and black tie, also reappears on the stage to the screams of the audience. With the blue lighting, you should be able to guess that the song is Blue Street Lamp.
Somewhere along the song, Leon gets lifted up by a blue shimmering stage, very beautiful indeed. When he gets down, he will stop just to say hi only and continue to sing Long Sentiment, and very quickly, he disappears from the stage again.
Along with the oriental style music, dancers dressed in kimonos holding umbrellas appear. At the end of this interval, the dancers left the stage, leaving behind an acrobat performing the act of rotating an umbrella with his leg.
The music changes to a lighter and gentler music, Leon is back with Dawn in Autumn!
I am growing very fond of this song (besides the point that I already liked the song since young) because he will turn and walk to our side every time he starts to sing this song. It is the song where we can get exceptionally excited, sing exceptionally louder and I can finally take some good and clear photos, with him standing just in front of me. (My friend could also pass his pandan cake to him at this time ^_^) Otherwise from my position, most of the time I am only looking at his back or side view.
If you are able to see the effect of the whole stage at this point, it should have been a very beautiful view with flowers floating in the air behind Leon, created by the vertical main screen and two cubic screens high up beside the main screen. This is one of my regrets for being seated just beside the stage.
On 14/10/2005, after singing the song, a guy offered a carnation flower to Leon and Leon asked why we like to give him flowers. Nevertheless, Leon said that because he is a guy, he will take it. He also said that many people gave him wine and if he drinks them all at once, he will definitely become unconscious immediately.

Leon: I remember around the SARS period, I went to Shanghai to film a movie called Leaving Me Loving You. During the filming period, I asked Ah Mark to go with me to Shanghai, and we sit at the common coffee shops in Shanghai. I asked him, "You've never been to Shanghai right?" He said yes. Then I asked where else he have not been to before. He said he had not been to New York. Beijing? Went before. Then after drinking some beverages, I told him why don?t you see whether the environment will give you some inspiration, the atmosphere, the scent, then you compose the song, maybe it will be better. He said I'd already thought of it. Then after returning to Hong Kong, he wrote a song for me. For this song, whether the movie suits you or not, for this song itself, it is a song which I like very much. Hope you'll like it too. The firework of 2 people.
For 15/10/2005, Leon told us that he received many red packets, but he advised us not to give this to him in such a situation, because if it is lost, he will feel sorry and if it drops, even worse. He also told us just to put $1 inside.
At this point, the whole coliseum kept screaming Leon, and he did not continue to say anything, so the screaming continued and it became vigorous chants of "LEON, LEON, LEON..." It was actually quite scary that the audience was even louder than the mike. I saw Leon almost wanted to cover his ears  When Leon finally said something to continue to the next song, then the chanting stopped.
After The firework of 2 people, Chapman To, dressed in a red hat and white suit, came out riding a bicycle hanging in the air.
Chapman To: Wow, so many people. Very beautiful. Hi everyone, I am Lai Siu Ming. Maybe many people don't recognise me. Actually I often come out, but all of you didn't notice me. Most of you only notice that one called Lai Lo Ming. When I was very young, I came to Hong Kong from Beijing. My father told me not to compete with other people. Although my family was not rich, we lived happily. Since young, I liked music very much. Therefore, once I graduated, I went to participate in the New Talents Competition. But after becoming a singer, then I realised that a newcomer does not have much money. Therefore, I went to sell handphones to earn a keep. Actually, now I also sell handphone... 3G... have you all bought it? In a glimpse, I've been in this line for 20 years. I've done many things, some were very happy, some were not. Some people criticised me of singing off-key, being not serious in acting, I'm a bit upset. I'm happiest when I donate to Community Chest, did bungee jump and acted in Peter Chan?s movie as Lai Siu Kwan. There's something which I haven't do, which is to get married. Sigh, it's difficult. They always say that I'm an expert in wooing girls, you thought that I'm Mark Lui or Chapman To? I don?t understand why the people nowadays like fat guys? (Mark Lui points at Chapman To) But I've many rumours with many female stars, some were real... at least I thought so myself. Nevermind, I still have many good friends, and all of you! (screams) I understand that in this line, you never did something, they can say that you did. When you did something well, they can act as if they never see it. When you are good to someone, someone may not be good to you. But I have never thought of retaliating, because I don't even know how. I only know how to do the things that I like to do. I like music. I will not change myself, because this is me. Actually, I'm a very simple person. It's just that I'm an artiste. I know that as an artiste, when you are happy, I am happy.
Then, it goes into the music of If I Can See You Again. This is a beautiful song which I feel its music arrangement is especially suited for this classic concert. It is a pleasure listening to the music and singing live, and moving your fluorescent lights to its flow.
Maybe because it is too beautiful, maybe it brings out what you are feeling tonight, on both 14/10 and 15/10, Leon missed out the second sentence of the chorus while singing this song.
On 14/10, it was only during the second time the chorus was sung, but on 15/10, he missed out both the first and second times the chorus was sung, probably proportional to the emotions of each night.
But not to worry, whenever Leon misses out the lyrics, the audience's immediate reaction is to sing for him. All along from the first song, the audience has been singing along. So after he missed out the lyrics, the audience sings even louder.

Leon: Thank you. Erm... Then I myself definitely is... (Audience continues to shout Leon...) I believe that my emotions are easily affected by other people, definitely so. Every person is like this, including myself. (Audience continues to shout Leon...) Then why not, this Will you be coming tonight, newly rearranged by Ah Mark. All of you are so loud, let's see whether you can follow the song, alright?

Leon: Every night, the mood is different. The first night was nervous. The second night was nervous with a bit of peace. The third night was a bit nervous. Tonight, I'm very peaceful again. I'm very happy, because as a singer, as long as I'm given the opportunity to have more different creative inspirations, and I can grab the chance, then I believe I can do something which I am confident and present to every one of you here. And those with fate will naturally get to listen to it.
I've done a lot of work for a long time. Whether doing charity work was out of your own heart or it's something you should do, I feel that it's both out of sympathy and also what you should do. Whether the heart is more or less, it depends on your ability. Therefore, I believe that every one of you here have been supporting the Community Chest. Actually, Community Chest is like our home, a big family. Hong Kong people's matters, Hong Kong people do it themselves. Harmony in the family will bring joy to all things.
Among family members, some people like to use the "argue" method, some people like to use the "quarrel" method, some like to use the "calm" method and some like to use the "no-brain" method. (Audience shouts out: What about you?) Me? I use a bit of everything. Sometimes I will not use my brain, sometimes I will be hot-tempered, sometimes I will be calm. Then you have to see how my father teaches me.
But I'm very happy to grow up with a group of friends supporting me till today, and to have participated in many charity activities. In these activities, I get to know many seniors who taught me many things, and also get to participate in many charity activities together with our Chief Executive. I believe that the job of a Chief Executive is much more difficult than the job of a singer or many other people. I'm very happy that today, the Chief Executive could sit here today, like a common citizen, together with everyone to listen to songs. I hope that I will continue to do my part as a singer, continue to do what I need to do. Every one of the family member continues to do your own part well. As long as we love our home, Hong Kong will definitely be better.
When Leon sings Will you be coming tonight on 15/10, he deliberately did not sing the first 2 lines of the chorus and let the audience sing. The audience really sings very loud and clear.
Then, it is the guest performance of Janice with her song, My Love, My Fate. Her singing is good, and the song is nice. Her name in very nice wordings, animated along with the slow beat, is projected on the screen as she sings, creating the feel of a diva in the making. It was only on the last day that she sang another song, Big Brother.

Leon: Everyday is the same. Yesterday, my mood was also good.
Mark: I'd say your mood is getting better and better with each show.
Leon: I'm only more constant than another person, because I didn't change my clothes at all.
Mark: Yup, so your mood doesn't change.
Mark: Let me say this first. Yesterday when we sang that "snowflakes" song

Mark: Yes, it was beautiful. Yesterday, I felt it was very beautiful and perfect, but too bad, it almost made you fall.
Leon: Slipped.

Leon: The first song is "The Last Love" written by Pal. I have to say this again, this song was written by him 10 years ago. It was one of the songs for the movie "Run". But after writing this song 10 years ago, he has not composed another song. I don't know why after he wrote this song for me, other people doesn't have the chance to sing his songs anymore.
Mark: Actually, probably you are the only one who has sung his song before.
Leon: Because he has only written one song.
Mark: Probably right, haha...
Leon: I have composed more songs than him, a bit more than him.
Mark: Maybe he kept his songs at home to sing with his girlfriend?
Leon: The second song is written by me, called "My Other Half" for a TV drama. Don't always ask me why the song is only half completed, because halfway through the story, the female lead left for heaven, so the song is only half, with some flawed beauty. We thought of writing the other half when we do the sequel, but the producer did not film a sequel.
Mark: How come? The drama doesn't sell?
Leon: It sells, but maybe the producer didn't want to repeat.
Mark: Oh, ok, similar to us. We don't like to repeat.
Leon: So every song has to be newly re-arranged. Different eras, different times, different moods, different arrangement comes with the different stages of growth of every person. So tonight, we present "The Last Love" and "My Other Half" with a different feel.
(After singing The Last Love and My Other Half)
Mark: Ok, for the next song, don't spray snowflakes, but sing very loudly, ok? Do you know how to sing?
Audience: Yes
Mark: Then sing loudly, maybe it's more fun than snowflakes.

Leon: How are you? (Leon saw the Gao Hsiong words from Taiwan fans, greets in Japanese and Korean)
Mark: Very happy to see that every night everyone is so happy. Also very happy for you.
Leon: So we don't need to care about whether Ah Pal is able to write songs or not and being unhappy.
Mark: Don't need to bother about him.

Chapman (not in picture) calls out: Lai Lo Ming!
Leon: What's the matter, To Siu Chak?
After Leon's section with Mark, Chapman To appears again, this time to ask Leon to dance. Of course, Leon always sticks to his principle not to dance. The funniest thing is, for two nights (and probably for all previous nights too), Mark had sided with Leon not to dance, because the objective of the concert is to sing classic slow songs. But for the last night, he changed his side and asked Leon to re-enact "Sayonara O".
According to Chapman To, there were 2 disasters in Leon's dancing history. The first one was "Sayonara O", whereby he did not demonstrate quite accurately. Let Leon teach you how to dance it correctly, "You have to use a 'V' sign diagonally, place it in front of your eyes, and strike it left, then right. Just don't strike yourself, it'd be alright."
The second one was "Happy 2000", which is worse than the first one because it hurts others, hurts himself, and even the next generation. Mark added it hurts the fans' hearts too. While the dancers beside Leon had hurt themselves, Leon is alright. Why? Mark said because he is "hard" enough...
Anyway, no matter how hard Chapman or Mark tries, Leon can always reason his way out with his "Leon Golden Quotes".

Mark (to Chapman): Then you dance instead. Change a bit tonight since you've been dancing the same thing every night.
Chapman: Cannot. I will not change myself, because this is not me.

(After Chapman danced and even did a half split at the end)
Leon: You don't have work so hard...
Mark (not in picture): Just stamp the floor
Leon: Or just jerk and jerk is fine already.
Besides dancing, Chapman also has to help Leon to sing his fast songs, Eye Journey and My Dear Love (Sayonara), and shake hands with the audience. Actually, I think this is quite an innovative arrangement, because firstly, Leon always cannot sing the songs while he is shaking hands, as he will be engulfed by the frenzied audience. Secondly, while Leon is at one side shaking hands, the audience at the opposite side will not be left out as they still get to shake hands with Chapman first. Third and most importantly, Leon can use both his hands to shake hands with the audience, more efficient, haha...
Did I manage to touch Leon's hands? The answer is I seemed to have touched but yet not, as he passed by us like a lightning. (My friend said the secure pulled him away quickly as someone behind us wanted to pinch him... ouch!)
Chapman: Ok, then I'll sing that slow song...
Mark (back-facing): Ok, what is it?
Chapman: "Sayonara" and "Eye Journey"
Mark: Oh, very slow that two songs... (and fast rock music glares up)
On 13/10, Leon continued to shake hands with the audience after he returned to the stage, when all the secure had already left him! So, you see Stanley and his team dashing all across the stage to reach him in the fastest time, really scary. He did not dare to do it again the next 2 nights.
Shaking hands is even more dangerous than dancing "Happy 2000"

Leon Lai Concert ~ Report 6
After the crazy session of shaking hands, it is time for an interval of acrobatic performance again. To speak the truth, I did not really watch all the acrobatic performances at all. Whenever it is interval time, it is time for me to take a break from taking photos, waving fluorescent lights, singing along, shouting and screaming etc...
Anyway, very soon Leon reappears again in grey jacket and purple pants with the song Nameless Song, Nameless You. Usually, after singing this song, Leon will take off his outer jacket, a personnel will pass him his black shining cap, and he will directly go to the next song. But for the last night, as Charles Ying, another newcomer of his record company, will be giving a guest performance too, he stops to talk (a chance for us to shout his name again)...

Audience: LEON.... (feets stamping the floor)
Leon: Many people say I seldom talk. Sometimes I could talk, sometimes I couldn't. Sometimes, it is a complete blank. But I just want to say... I can see the people down here, the people up there. Although I see you very tiny, and you see me very tiny, but I can see you.
Audience: Leon.... LEON, LEON, LEON, LEON... (feets stamping)
Leon: All of you have all along been giving me chances to sing for you, film movies, and do the work I need to do. There were times when I didn't do quite well, but hope at least I have improved, just do the best is alright... I don't know whether this suits your taste or thinking, but I believe when a person has the chance to face it, he will go all out to do his best. Here, I introduce a new friend to sing a song here. Hope you will give him encouragement too. Charles Ying... (Audience cheers!)
The scene above where Leon is giving Charles encouragement to come up to the stage for his first performance in front of such a big audience is really touching. (The picture on the left captures Leon leaving the stage after Charles came up to the stage.) From this concert, I can really see that Leon is very caring of the singers under his record company. Besides the scene above, if I am not wrong, people do not usually bother about the stage effects for the guest performances, but in Leon's concert, he does. Just look at the nice stage effects for the guest performances of Janice and Kwong Leong, with their names being prominently displayed in nice graphic wordings.
The next two songs are really suitable for fans to profess their love for Leon. When Leon says the song title for Sorry, I Love You, after he says "Sorry", you can make use of the chance to say "I Love You", like the audience on the last night. For Summer Love, just sing the chorus part "I love you. Will you be able to hear it? ..." especially loudly so that Leon can hear it
After Leon sang Sorry, I Love You on the last night, somebody gave him a green furry soft-toy, and he just sat down on the stairs of the stage, but only for a short while. Then he stood up and said something that really moves me.

Leon: Time passes very fast. But most importantly is during the process, you are happy and I can do something that makes you happy, it's enough. Although tonight seems to pass very fast, it has to pass. Tomorrow, there will be another thing happening. If today doesn't pass, there won't be a future. Therefore, let's continue to walk forward. But, with all of you, my heart is very satisfied. (Audience screams.) Therefore, I can continue to walk this path, let all of you continue to look at me like this. For all of you, Summer Love.
I can say that Summer Love is the greatest mass singing session. Every night, you can clearly hear the audience sing this song. This song is especially meaningful to everyone because it will bring back memories of Leon's 1993 concert where the audience sang the whole song for him and he cried. At the chorus part, with lights upon the audience, you see the audience standing up, waving their fluorescent lights and singing "I love you..." loudly, you can really feel the fans' overwhelming love for Leon. And it did not stop even when Leon has left the stage, because the chorus continues and thus the singing and waving of fluorescent lights also continue.
When the song finally ends, it is an interval of "headless skeletons" moving around the audience area.
When Leon returns with I Love You So Much, you finally get to see how a person can look both cute and elegant at the same time. Cute yet elegant is how Leon look like, wearing a jumper with shirt and tie and black tailored jacket. This is my favourite costume for this concert and I keep thinking that it looks like what Mickey Mouse would wear, so I call it the Mickey Mouse suit. And this suit really fits Leon, because this is what he is - cute yet elegant.

Leon: Very happy. Thank you very much to friends who reappears every night, different friends every night. Thank you for coming tonight. Hope you have a happy evening. I'm very happy that while I record my album in Beijing, besides learning things that I've never learnt before, I also get to know a friend who loves music very much. Besides composing songs, experiencing many different routes, he has been composing songs for around 10 years. He sang as a group before, then he went solo and continue to work hard to compose songs. Opportunity is very hard to come, especially for a songwriter, inspiration is very hard to come. I believe that Ah Mark definitely knows this feeling. (Claps) The one who feels this even more is Ah Pal, our low-key guitarist. After he wrote "The Last Love", he never composes again. But he continues to do guitar accompaniment for concerts and albums, a very great behind-the-scene worker. No one blames him for not able to write new songs, because the people don't really know about this friend. But after I have said this today, hope you will have new works, maybe not for me, but for other singers. Let's give him some applause.
For myself, I will continue to work on the things that I am short of. If I have learnt everything, life is meaningless. There are still many things to learn, many things that I still don't know. I'm not good at composing songs. Singing, I'm also not very good, so I work continuously. I think it's enough for me to sing only, and let more people write songs for me. Ah Mark, I'm still waiting for your good songs. Before this, I believe there's one friend who has experienced a lot of what we have experienced. He used time, hard work, and his heart to go through the experience. Besides, he can sing, has a very nice voice and can also compose very nice melodies and write good lyrics. The Heaven gave me the opportunity to get to know him as a friend, and also invite him to join our East Asia Record Production Company. Let's welcome him, Kwong Leong.
With this, Kwong Leong appears on the middle stage, playing the piano and singing his song, Fairy Tale to the cheers of the audience. His name in big silver characters is shown on the vertical screen. Leon remains on the stage but the lights are not on him. Only after Kwong Leong sings half the song, then the lights shine on Leon, and his name also appears on the screen as he sings one verse of the song. This is one of my favourite moments at the concert but too bad, Leon only sings one verse, which is too little. Although he is actually singing along for the rest of the song, but you cannot hear him as he is not using his mike.
This is a really warmhearted session with everyone singing along, waving their fluorescent lights, complete with a hug between Leon and Kwong Leong. A really nice welcome for a new family member. For the last show, Kwong Leong also sang an additional new song titled Agreement. After that, Leon then came back on stage with If This is Love.
At this stage, everyone is a bit sad as this is the last second song, especially so for the last night. You can hear it from the screams of the audience at this time.

Leon: Thank you. To friends who came from all different places. (repeats in Mandarin) Thank you. (in Japanese/Korean) You can't bear to part with me, I will also can't bear to part. But if today don't pass, how do you know what is tomorrow like? As long as this a happy memory, thank you for giving it to me. I hope that I similarly gives you a happy memory. Next, I will continue to film the movies I need to film, sing the songs I need to sing, do the work that I should do. The grand philharmonic-style opening of Unspoken Words of Deep Feelings rings out, marking the finale of the concert. Everyone stands up and sing in unison. Sometimes, I really think that Leon fans could form a really good choir.
With also a grand closing, the song ended and Chapman To appears again. This time, his job is to thank all the credits.
   
Chapman: My greatest feeling of doing this concert is when you love a person, it doesn't need explanation. At this time when Hong Kong has lesser and lesser stars, we still have a real star beside me.
Leon: Hong Kong has many many stars, many many people with talent. It's just that it needs time to find them out. I believe as long as we put our hearts to it, we can do it.
 
At the last night, when Leon was about to leave the stage, the audience started to shout "LEON, LEON, LEON, LEON..." and thus Leon stayed back quite long on the stage and waved to the audience at all sides of the stage. I guess no one would want to leave without at least waving a goodbye to him, including myself. Luckily, he did turn to wave to us. Then, with a final goodbye, it means he really had to go. The picture above is the last picture I took of the LEON CRAZY CLASSIC CONCERT 2005, just when he started to walk down the stage. Until he finally disappears from the stage, then we started to move. The concert was over, but the night was not...
