Is Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey's divorce final? While the singer is engaged to her billionaire boyfriend, James Packer, she technically is still married. As of August, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were still trying to finalize their divorce. And Carey obviously can't marry billionaire boyfriend James Packer until she reaches a settlement with Cannon. But now that Carey is engaged, she will try to come to an agreement with her ex as soon as she can.
Cannon and Carey got married in April 2008. But by August 2014, they were reportedly living separate lives. They were fighting over money, and rumors swirled that Cannon had cheated on his wife. The America's Got Talent host then officially filed for divorce from Carey last January.
But TMZ reported that the split has not yet been finalized. Over the summer, Carey felt that Cannon was dragging his feet in negotiations. And she met with her lawyers to brainstorm ways to pressure him into a settlement. But the two sides are now working together to come up with a resolution as soon as possible.
In fact, James Packer is reportedly still married to his ex, as well. He split from Erica Packer in 2013, and she has since moved on to date Seal. But because of Australia's laws, the divorce process takes a while to complete.
