People always have preconceived notion and ideas regarding wealth. We are conditioned to regard material competencies negatively. Societies, mass media, authorities, religion, etc2...

That's their view, that's their reality. It's not for us to change them. The greatest joy is in giving. Let us make those we love happy. Let us be happy.

I won't argue with them on this matter.

Being poor and broke is not noble.

I am now earning more than what I used to earn 5-10 years ago.
I am happy with my current earning and so is my wife. I will be even happier if my income increases 2-3 fold, so will be my wife.
It is suffering being poor, like living in HELL. I have gone thru this.
I don't want to be poor again, even just enuf is no good. it is still poor.
As long as I am HAPPY and my loved ones are HAPPY, and you are HAPPY,
we don't have to bother about what others have to say or think.

Don't worry, Be Rich and Happy.

the purpose of my life is to enjoy it and live it to the fullest. in order to get that destination, i need to invest on myself, buy books, sit for exams and eventually get a position that i always aimed for, (hopefully).

you need to know you want and only then you can succeed. i want to be a lecturer at the end of my career cos i wanna share my thoughts, skills and experience with the younger generation.. i have a professional profession right now but it would be a waste if its not being shared at the end of the career. afterall, wisdom is all i have when i grow older.

In this discussion I try to avoid the narrow materialistic interpretation of life. This is hedonistic tendency. It is UNINTRESTING AND NARROW. It is a minor grain in the universal interpretation of life. A philosophical discourse of life must move towards seeking the UNIVERSAL answer to the purpose of life, the self in itself, essence, existence and being ( surely we are not the only being in this universe). I enjoy discussing life as a metaphysical topic. Blow up my mind till kingdom come. As a subject which is external and transcends human mind ( sound like madness...and very frightening). God give life with goodness and this goodnes is truth. I beg for an answer.......please.

Live life to the fullest IMHO does not limited to material accesses....pardon me sir! A destitute drunked too live a fullest life with daily dose of alcohol. And also calilbate nun who spent her life reading old scriptures and meditation.

Goes to show LIFE (or TRUE LIFE) exists when TRUTH abounds? Does it then mean that lies is anti-life ....against the grain of good men!

IMHO, life is a SEARCH ..........a SEARCH for TRUTH. The ultimate search would be a search for the ultimate truth. When that is reached before life expires then there is true and everlasting contentment. On the other hand when the search fails before life expires the essence is not satisfied and may be said to be doomed to eternal discontentment and suffering.
