Lokman: Rally training is to for Umno take on PH

PETALING JAYA: Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam described a video that depicted a group of people appearing to participate in a street demonstration, which went viral on social media yesterday, as not just an ordinary training session.
Commenting on the viral video, he said the rally was training aimed at the current government which had broken its '100 days' promise after winning the 14th General Election (GE14).
"Thank you to Twitter user @milosuam for uploading the video. We always make demonstrations for the first 100 days of the promise, unfortunately Pakatan Harapan-controlled media would not report about it.
"With the spread of this video, it gives a clear signal that Umno always brings people's issues and not racial issues," he said in a statement today.
According to Lokman, who is also Pemantau president, the spread of the video is also expected to give Umno members the realisation that the party's leadership is ready to face Pakatan Harapan (PH).
"With the spread of this video, new members of Umno are aware that the new leadership of Umno under Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as president, is preparing its troops to destroy Pakatan Harapan," he said.
The two-minute seven-second long video showed a group of people gathered together, with some holding placards. It was said to have taken place in Janda Baik.
It was then alleged that Umno had conducted a course at the Institut Latihan Memperkasakan Umno (ILMU) in Janda Baik from Aug 31 until yesterday.
In a statement earlier this week, Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam said the three-day course called 'Kursus Asas Pembangkang' (course on the basics of being an opposition) was being jointly organised by Pemantau Malaysia Baru and Umno's Communications and Media committee.
Lokman said participation was also open to the public with 50 limited seats, adding that participants should be selected based on their ability to debate, join demonstrations, head police reports and be active on social media, among others. |
