Posting on 'brave' karate champ goes viral, but incident is fake

KOTA KINABALU: A Facebook posting stating that a woman had bravely fought off two men who tried to rob then rape her in Penampang, near here, has gone viral, but the incident has been found to be fake.
Penampang police chief Deputy Supt Rosley Hobden said the "news" that went viral a few days ago is false.
It was reported as a true story by several blogs and online news portals.
"We did not receive any report of such an incident," he said when contacted Monday.
He said police had investigated the claims in the posting, stating the alleged victim, one Alice Lien Hua, 20, who is also a Sabah karate champion, had beaten up the two culprits, resulting them ending up in a coma.
"Those found spreading false information can be charged under the Communications and Multimedia Act for using the Internet or telephone to spread false news or information," he said.
He said a person convicted under the Act faces a jail term of up to a year or a fine of up to RM50,000 or both.
In the viral posting, the alleged victim is said to have also responded by asking whether she would be charged for attacking the men.
Netizens who replied to the posting described her as brave and asked her not to worry, saying that the suspects deserved to be beaten up.

huhu..i bleh sense ade something off psl story ni...
1- sbb dlm kes ni Alice kata die x takut?..i mean kalau Alice ni laki pun kena ekor dgn 2 mamat naik motor..x kan xde rasa cuak kot??...
2- gambar 2 mamat pati yg terlentang tu?? kalau kes dlm siasatan bleh dpt ke gambar clear close lagi sampai nampak pusat mcm tu?...
3- Alice pulak tu ade member penguatkuasa? aiik? mcm kebetulan sgt kan?...
4- x pernah baca kisah benar sorg wanita yg ade martial arts skills dpt selamatkan diri dari dirogol/rompak..seriusly...belum pernah bc or dengar lagi..
5- 2 mamat skali kena koma sbb kena karate chop dgn sorg wanita??..u only see this kind of things in movies....

Perempuan kalau berbadan kecil walaupun reti dalam karate tidak mungkin dengan begitu mudah mampu menumbangkan seorang lelaki yang bertubuh lebih besar walaupun lelaki tu tiada apa-apa kemahiran dalam seni mempertahankan diri, lebih-lebih lagi lelaki tu seorang penjenayah, dah pasti mereka ni tersangat ganas.
Rasanya amoi tu dah kena lahar oleh netizens sampai terpaksa delete posting-posting 'kejadian' tu dalam Facebook dia.
Rupa-rupanya dia cuma seorang gilakan publisiti murahan sahaja. |

So skrg mesti cuak sbb kalau kena tangkap masuk jail or 50 ribu!
