English as a Foreign or Second Language  -dari wikipedia

ESL (English as a second language), ESOL (English for speakers of other languages), and EFL (English as a foreign language) all refer to the use or study of English by speakers with a different native language. The precise usage, including the different use of the terms ESL and ESOL in different countries, is described below. These terms are most commonly used in relation to teaching and learning English, but they may also be used in relation to demographic information.

ELT (English language teaching) is a widely-used teacher-centred term, as in the English language teaching divisions of large publishing houses, ELT training, etc. The abbreviations TESL (teaching English as a second language), TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages) and TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) are all also used.

Other terms used in this field include EAL (English as an additional language), ESD (English as a second dialect), EIL (English as an international language), ELF (English as a lingua franca), ESP (English for special purposes, or English for Specific Purposes), EAP (English for academic purposes). Some terms that refer to those who are learning English are ELL (English language learner), LEP (limited English proficiency) and CLD (culturally and linguistically diverse).

MSU  - Management & Science University

Diploma in Education (TESL)

Introduction:
At the end of doing their Diploma in Education (DTESL), graduates will become teachers of English in primary schools. Many people assume that teaching English must be "easy" but in reality, to be good, one must understand the pedagogical and psychological theories related to the development of children. This course offers students an in depth understanding of the teaching of the English language. At the end of the course, students need to complete a 14 week practicum in a primary school.

The MSU-BTESL programme differs from other programme in the country because we emphasize the acquisition of soft skills such as using ICT, communication skills, public speaking, developing leadership skills, developing critical thinking and problem solving. It is these soft-skills that allow 95% of MSU graduates, on average, to find a job six months after they finish our programme.

After completing their DTESL programme, students can either start working or join the BTESL and get exemptions for 10 subjects.

Academic Requirement: Total Credit

Bachelor in Education (TESL) (Hons)

Introduction:
The Bachelor in Education (TESL) is geared towards producing teachers of English for secondary schools. We start by offering key courses in language proficiency, linguistics and education. These courses allow students to develop a sound theoretical and practical knowledge of teaching English. The course finishes with the practicum, a capstone 14 weeks as teacher in a secondary school.

The MSU-BTESL programme differs from other TESL programme in the country because we emphasize the acquisition of soft skills such as using ICT, communication skills, public speaking, developing leadership skills, developing critical thinking and problem solving. It is these soft-skills that allow 95% of MSU graduates, on average, to get a job within six months of finishing their course.
