OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Akanishi Jin will study abroad for half a year
It has been decided that Akanishi Jin (KAT-TUN) is going to study abroad. For the present, he will stop all activities. We apologize to the fans and everyone involved for the sudden announcement. It has barely been a year since KAT-TUN debuted and they are still newcomers, Akanishi's wish to study abroad has been postponed so far. But in respect of his strong wish to be an exchange student while he is still young, he has been permitted to study abroad for half a year. As it is also possible that his studies might take a longer time than that, it is yet unclear when he will return.

KAT-TUN will continue with five members. We hope for your understanding. To support Akanishi in his devotion to his studies, there is no plan to publicly announce where he will study.

I spoke to Akanishi over the phone what we want to, his strong will this time roung, and how i felt towards the whole incident.
because as a member of KAT-TUN, the happening this time, honestly speaking, it was quite painful to understand, but yet on the other hand, it was something i could understand very well...
While Akanishi is learning over at the other side, we would like to continue to learn over here too.
to continue to grow together.
In whichever shape, KAT-TUN must continue to improve.
And we need everyone`s support. please continue to support us warmly.

When i first heard it from Akanishi, i thought what kinda joke was this and was frankly, stunned. But while hearing his decision, i felt the power of Akanishi, who was doing what he want to now while he can.
Not wanting to lose to Akanishi, I will continue to put in my energy in my work, and when he returns, i want to be able to puff out my chest and say proudly that I grew up too!
I am sure the lonliness all of you fans feel is the same, but even when Akanishi isnt around, we will caontinue to workl hard, so please do wait for him to return.

It was a very sudden decision and i am sure everyone got a bad shock, but this was what Akanishi himself decided on, and till the time he comes back from going to learn many things, please continue to watch over him. Really sorry for making everyone worried
I am sure there are alot of you who are really shocked, and there are definitely some who are angry and screaming at him to `stop playing a fool`. But this is a decision he made which would be of an advantage to Akanishi himself as a person, and definitely not something he came to the conclusion lightly. If everyone could understand this, I am sure Akanishi would be really happy too. That`s why I am sure everyone would lonely but till the day a even more Kakkoii Akanishi comes back, please hold on in there for awhile. Really sorry.

Thinking normally, to go aborad to study at this timing is ridiculous, but Akanishi himself has his own set of thinking, and since he is going, i want him to go and bring back something he cant find in japan and back to KAT-TUN.
Of course the one who are in the biggest shock are all of you, the fans. BUT there is no quitting or disbanding, so puff out your chest and till the day Akanishi comes back, please do wait for him. |

It's lucky 13 for actor and SMAP member Kimura Takuya (33). He's been chosen as Japan's favorite guy for the 13th year in a row by readers of women's magazine an.an. He was way ahead of No.2 choice, singer Fukuyama Masaharu (37).
As usual, SMAP dominated the rankings, with Nakai Masahiro (#3), Kusanagi Tsuyoshi (#6), Katori Shingo (#8) and Inagaki Goro (#9) all in the Top 10. Two other Johnny's Jimusho artists and a pair of "ikemen" (handsome) actors completed the ranking.
