yup..nice too.....for the eastern europe block they r preffer to use ERA (erawa reactive armour) block...look a bit messy....in term of practicallity i don't know....but ur tank surface looks so smooth and futuristic turret shape....... |

No doubt, Sg Leo 2s are now in urban warfare build which works just as fine in non urban areas as well. M1 Abrams have a similar upgrade called TUSK. Both tanks are using similar cannons. By the way, Sg Leo 2 new builds look like Merkava tanks

Apart from enhanced protection, what many people miss is the new firing control system( undisclosed) and networkcentric battle-field management system which should have also been installed. SAF Leo 2 tanks now becomes a shooter node in SAF's range of shooter and sensor net assets. SAF Leo 2 will be able to see far and see first and shoot first way over the horizon and beyond line of sight. And utilize long range precision guided weapons like the Lahat missile; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LAHAT . The Lahat missile has been successfully tested for usage on the Leo 2 tank guns( it is fired from the 120mm gun).
Like in any network, the Leo 2s will not be operating alone but with UAVs, Apache Longbows, F16s/F15s/F35s, AEW & C planes, Bionix 2(with 30mm cannons) IFVs, Terrex IFVs, Himars, Pegasus, Primus, FH-2000, etc.
My take on SAF's networked doctrine is this; hit a single enemy asset with the best, closest and effective assets and with everything you got. If one misses, another will come and if that misses, another will come. It can come from the air, sea and/or land. It wont stop until the single enemy asset is permanently destroyed. |

The AMAP-ADS and Iron-Fist/Trophy can be mounted as needed and I think we may see them only in a real conflict. The yet to be upgraded Leo 2A4s are in the picture too. I must say Singapore now has the most powerful tank in South east asia and Oceania. Even more powerful than the Aussie Abrams M1A1 tank. Imagine the current 182 (of these) monster tanks with possibly more to come in the future. Replacing AMx-13 tanks mah. The message is clear. Do not take on Singapore armour in head-on clash. Or rather avoid a head-on clash with the SAF. |

Aperhal la kao nih. If anything, we will be fighting together in any conflict. Relations have improved dramatically. The two economies are inter-dependant. Both our countries are small fishes in a pond dominated by giants. Technolgy levels the playing field somewhat. |
