Beast King GoLion (百獣王ゴライオン, Hyakujūō Goraion?) is a Japanese Super robot anime television series. The animation from GoLion was edited and trimmed to create the Lion version of the U.S. Voltron: Defender of the Universe series, with new names and dialogue, as well as several plot changes. An uncut Region 1 DVD containing the first 18 episodes was released on May 27, 2008 as Collection 1. Collection 2 was released in most stores on August 12, 2008
Voltron is a series of animated television programs, the first of which was titled Voltron: Defender of the Universe. There has since been a second series, made in the 1990s using CGI techniques. The 1980s Voltron series was based on two unrelated Japanese anime series GoLion and Dairugger XV (both originally produced by Toei Animation & Bandai). The anime was later dubbed into English and edited by the North American television production and distribution company World Events Productions. The adaptation was not a straight dub, however--as much violence as possible was removed from the original Japanese series.

Vehicle Voltron (Voltron of the Near Universe) @ Armored Fleet Dairugger XV
Later episodes were based on the 1982 series Armored Fleet Dairugger XV (機甲艦隊 ダイラガーXV, Kikō Kantai Dairagā Fifutīn?), and they changed the storyline considerably. In this iteration of Voltron, the Galaxy Alliance's home planets have become overcrowded, and a fleet of explorers has been sent to search for new planets to colonize. Along the way, they attract the attention of the evil Drule Empire, long engaged in an ongoing war against the Alliance, and the Drules proceed to interfere in the mission of the explorers and the colonists. Since the Voltron of Planet Arus was too far away to help the explorers, a totally new Voltron is constructed to battle the Drule threat.

Challenge of the GoBots (also known as Mighty Machine Men) is an American animated series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, based on the Gobots toy-line released from Tonka. Most of the toys were imported from the Japanese Machine Robo toy line .
The GoBots originally debuted in animated form as a five-part miniseries, which aired in syndication from October 29-November 2, 1984 as part of . A regular series followed the next year, premiering on September 16, 1985. The series was later rerun on the USA Cartoon Express.
Getter Robo G (ゲッターロボG, Gettā Robo Jī?) is a super robot anime series created by Go Nagai and Ken Ishikawa and produced by Toei Animation. This direct sequel to Getter Robo was broadcast on Fuji TV from May 15, 1975 to March 25, 1976, with a total of 39 episodes (some episodes were rebroadcast, erroneously giving the impression that there were 43 episodes).
People familiar with Mattel's popular Shogun Warriors toy collection will remember all three of Getter Robo G's robot formations in that toy line: Getter Dragon (Dragun), Getter Liger (Arrow) and Getter Poseidon (Poseidon). As a result of the popularity of these toys in the US, Jim Terry included this series in his Force Five anime lineup under the title of Starvengers. The original Getter Robo series, however, has yet to appear in the US (although the Shin Getter Robo OVAs have appeared). In the UK, Starvengers episodes were released on video by Krypton Force under the name Formators.
Getter Robo Go (ゲッターロボ號, Gettā Robo Gō?) or Getter Robot Go also known as Venger Robo or Venger Robot Go, is a japanese mecha anime and manga series created by Go Nagai and Ken Ishikawa. It was released in the US under the name Venger Robo and in Spain as Venger Robot Go. Also, sometimes it is wrongly written in Japanese as ゲッターロボ号.
Getter Robo Armageddon (真(チェンジ!!)ゲッターロボ 世界最後の日, Shin (Chenji!!) Getta Robo "Sekai Saigo no Hi"?), often simply referred to as Change!! Getter Robo in Japan, is an original video animation released in 1998 by Bandai Visual, based on the manga and anime series Getter Robo, created by Go Nagai and Ken Ishikawa. The series, however, owes more to the manga than the 1970s animated adaptation, with designs closer to those of Nagai's original art, and a darker, more serious theme than the anime. It is a direct sequel to the audio drama 'Getter Robo: The Moon Wars', not the 1970s TV series (a common misconception).

Blue Comet SPT Layzner (蒼き流星SPTレイズナー, Aoki Ryūsei SPT Reizunā?), sometimes translated as Blue Meteor SPT Layzner, is an anime series produced by Sunrise between 1985 and 1986. Space Carrier Blue Noah (宇宙空母ブルーノア, Uchū Kūbo Burū Noa?) is a science fiction anime TV series produced by Office Academy which ran in Japan from October 13, 1979 through March 30, 1980. It was later distributed overseas in English by West Cape Corporation under the name "Thundersub". The series was called "Nave Anti-Espacial" (Anti-Space Ship) in many Spanish-speaking countries.
Set in the year 2052, Earth has managed to find peace until the arrival of the Death Force - ruthless aliens from a dying solar system - who are desperately searching for a new home. Attacking the Earth with a massive satellite ship called Terror Star, the aliens proceed to terraform the planet to make it their own. For mankind there is one hope: it's up to Colin Collins and a small band of his fellow surviving students to crew a top-secret submersible vessel that can fight the invaders at sea or in space.
Space Warrior Baldios (宇宙戦士 バルディオス, Uchū Senshi Barudiosu?) is a super robot anime series produced by Ashi Productions, with its full length feature film produced by Toei Animation in 1981, which has a strong environmental theme. Many of the pivotal episodes were joined and released as a "movie" in the United States as "Space Warriors: Battle for Earth Station S/1." The name of the Baldios mecha was unchanged, although it played a surprisingly small part in the movie that was created. In Italy, the TV series and feature film were exhibited under the name Baldios, Il Guerriero dello Spazio. In Cuba, another feature film version of Baldios was released in theaters, including much of the bloodshed and disturbing scenes that had been excised from the American version, under the name of Yaltus. However this version had some sexual content excised as well. As of today, the most complete version of the film is the Japanese DVD release.
