Putatan MP Datuk Dr Marcus Mojigoh saw at firsthand the ugly side of people last Saturday.
He was returning home after attending an Upko convention in Apin-Apin when he happened to pass an accident scene near Kampung Kibunut along Tambunan-Penampang Road at about 4.30pm.
"The blood-soaked motorcyclist who rammed the tyre of a trailer carrying a container was lying by the side of the road and he was clearly in pain due to the injuries but to my surprise none of the passers-by gathering around him was willing to do anything," he said.
Believing that the victim could not wait for the ambulance to arrive, Mojigoh said he decided to take him to the hospital himself in his car.
He was again surprised when nobody was willing to even help him carry the injured man into his car.
"Only when I raised my voice, out of desperation, that one or two people scurried to help put the man in my car," he said, adding that he met up with the ambulance while on the way to the hospital, which turned around and helped clear the way.
According to Mojigoh's aides, the victim was now warded in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
"The interior of my car was really soaked with blood but I think it is easier to clean it up than to rid the guilt of watching a man dying in front of your eyes when you know you could at least try to save him," he said.

heran juga.. selalunya sabahan kalau ada exsiden ja mesti ramai yg berkumpul sudah tu...... blum pernah sia nmpk exsiden yang tidak jam.... walaupun terlanggar sikit saja pun |

tu yg bikin heran tu....... mustahil teda orang berkumpul sana....
tapi since dia bilang terberlimpas sama ambulance,maknanya ada la bah sudah orang panggil ambulan... kadang2 kita ni takut mo kasi move tu orang cedera sebab manatau kalau kita move dia jadi lagi teruk. maklumlah kita ni bukannya ada asas paramedik |
