SO how do you replace the irreplaceable? It took United 40 years to find the next George Best and by the end of the summer they could be looking for another one.
While Sir Alex Ferguson remains steadfast in his resolve that Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale at any price, he will already have at least one eye on his options should the double footballer-of-the-year move to Real Madrid.
United refuse to even countenance the possibility of losing the Portuguese international, but the Old Trafford hierarchy can no longer ignore the strong hints from Ronaldo himself that he sees his future in Spain.

Rooney Demands Ferdinand Explanation
Manchester United team mates Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney are reportedly at loggerheads after Ferdinand failed to appear at Rooney抯 wedding, according to the Sunday People.
Ferdinand, who also did not attend Rooney抯 stag night, had been expected to attend the event with his heavily pregnant partner Rebecca Ellison and Rooney had even supplied a car to take the couple to the airport.
However, the couple failed to appear and their actions have apparently infuriated Rooney and his new bride, so much so that Rooney and Ferdinand have apparently not spoken since.
The paper reports a friend of Rooney as saying: 揜io was invited. Very, very late on it was apparent he was not turning up. It was furiously late. There's been no conversation since between Wayne and Rio. |
