Shunsuke Kazama gets starring film role in "Maebashi Visual-kei"

Actor Shunsuke Kazama (27) will make his big screen debut as the star of a new movie by actor/director Gitan Otsuru (42). Titled "Maebashi Visual-kei," the film is a coming-of-age story about the young members of a visual-kei band in a small town.
Kazama is one of the few members of Johnny's Jimusho who primarily works as an actor, rather than as a singer or musician. He has already appeared in many television dramas and theatrical productions, and he is well-known as the lead voice actor for the "Yu-Gi-Oh!" anime series, including two film versions in 2005 and 2010.
"Maebashi Visual-kei" is Otsuru's fourth film as a director. Kazama plays the eldest child of a farm family in Maebashi, Gunma. While dealing with problems at home, he is also the aspiring vocalist of a four-member visual-kei band.
Filming has already begun in the Chiba prefecture, though the concert scenes have not yet been shot. Theatrical release is planned for February 2011.
On this week's sales charts, Kanjani8's album "8UPPERS" ranked #1 with just over 231,000 copies sold. This is their third consecutive number-one album. Two remastered Beatles albums entered the charts at #3 and #4, while Golden Circle of Friends, ORANGE RANGE, and Takeshi Tsuruno occupied the #8 to #10 slots.
On the singles chart, another Johnny's Jimusho group, NYC, led the way with their "Yoku Asobi Yoku Manabe." The song sold close to 93,000 copies, giving them their second consecutive number-one.
The bigger story, however, was Korean group SNSD reaching #2 with the Japanese version of their song "Gee" (66,000 copies). They are just the second foreign female group to enter the Top 3 of the singles chart. The only other group to do it was The Nolans, thirty years ago in 1980.
The other new singles in the top ten were from The ROOTLESS (#3), Maaya Sakamoto (#5), ClariS (#7), Sphere (#8), and The Cro-Magnons (#9).
Hey!Say!JUMP announces new single “Arigatou” out December 15th!!
Johnny’s group Hey!Say!JUMP will finally release a new single called “Arigatou ~Seikai no Doko ni Itemo~” on December 15th, just in time for the holiday season.
The new single is the 6th single overall for the group, and the second from them this year. They recently compiled their hits from their debut until now on their first album, “JUMP NO.1,” showing how much the ten members had grown over the years. Now their “Arigatou” single will mark the beginning of their next stage. The theme of the song is the word ‘thank you’ and how this is unique in every country. Even though the title is rather peaceful, the song itself will be more of a hard dance number that will show that Hey!Say!JUMP have become adults.
The single will be released in both regular and a CD + DVD limited version. The CD will contain the title track plus three different couplings, all with their own karaoke version, for a total of eight tracks on the single. The DVD version will come with the music video for “Arigatou.” The Jacket designs will be completely different between the two versions as well.

NHK has just announced the performer lineup for this year's Kohaku Uta Gassen. A total of 44 artists have been invited, with an even split of 22 on the Red Team and 22 on the White Team. 5 of them will be making their first appearance on the show, including Kana Nishino and AAA.
Some early news reports proved to be wrong: artists such as BIG BANG, KARA, and Masahiko Kondo did not make the final list.
Artists are listed in Japanese alphabetical order. The performance has not yet been announced.
