The 10 keepers Chelsea could get on an emergency loan
 Though we'd all like to see Avram donning gloves, it's unlikely to happen. Here's who the Blues could sign on their emergency loan instead...
1) Ben Foster
If he's thinking long term, Sir Alex would be wise to give his number three vital experience at Chelsea. If he's thinking short term, he'd be billy bonkers to let his biggest rivals have their superb keeper. If it could happen it would be a dream.
2) Lenny "The Pidge" Pidgley
The Millwall Gypsy and former Chelsea shot stopper knows the squad inside out. Plus anyone who's seen 'Blue Revolution - Chelsea The Movie' will know he's a fantastic darts player who could boost squad moral with his arrows. As The Spoiler pointed out yesterday, he's also fun to go clubbing with.
3) Kasper Schmeichel
Currently on loan at Coventry, it's unlikely Manchester City will let the blues snatch him away from his Championship relegation battle. He looks a great prospect though, and would be a good option.
4) Paul Robinson
Remember him? He needs to get out of Spurs and into the shop window. It would never happen, but Tottenham's season is long over, so they might as well give Robbo away for a bit.
5) Andreas Isaksson
The Manchester City number two has performed well every time he's squeezed the excellent Hart out. With Sven's season all but over, he has nothing to lose by giving him away on loan.
6) Thomas Sorensen
The most likely option and a good one at that. He's out of favour, needs to get himself in the shop window and is solid at least 90% of the time. It's a win win situation for everyone involved.
7) Mart Poom
The ex Arsenal number two, and Derby number one is currently bench warming at Watford. He's got massive presence and a truck load of experience. A good option if Boothroyd would let him go.
8) Mark Bosnich
Bozza's on the comeback trail, and know his way around The Bridge if nothing else...
9) Graham Stack
The ex Arsenal keeper has lost his way at Reading, and would presumably leap at the chance...
10) Mike Polliit
The Wigan reserve is always superb when he fills in for the ever injured Kirkland. I'd like to see this one happen, but doubt it would. |
