Leon has agreed to attend the charity performance to raise funds for victims of the recent Tsunami, "Operation Relief 2005", held at 8.30pm tonight. On the other hand, he had also donated HK$100,000 to Oriental Daily Charity Fund, which were all to be donated to Hong Kong Red Cross and other international relief organizations to support the relief work at the affected areas in South Asia.

Leon, who was at Beijing, said that when he woke up on the first day of the new year, he felt that he had to do some meaningful things. Therefore, he responded to Oriental Daily Charity Fund's South Asia disaster relief activity. He also urged everyone to treasure what they had now, do their best to help others, and raise their consciousness of recycling and protecting the earth.

To raise funds for the victims of the South Asia Tsunami, a charity performance will be held at the Hong Kong Stadium on 7 Jananuary 2004. The organiser invited Cheng Kwok Kong to pen new lyrics for the song "We are the world", and with Anthony Lun Wing Leung as the producer, over a hundred singers went into the recording studio from 9pm the night before to the morning to record this song. The singers include Alan Tam, Andy Lau, Leon Lai, Hacken Lee, Denise Ho, Beyond, Andy Hui, Eason Chan, Nicholas Tse, Twins, Boy'z, Joey Yung, Yumiko Cheng, Deep Ng, Miriam Yeung, Edmond Leung, Jaycee Fong, Jackie Chan, Eric Tsang, Jacky Cheung, Dicky Cheung, Aaron Kwok etc.

Leon felt that Hong Kong is a fortunate place. Therefore, since Hong Kong was not affected, they should do more meaningful things and unite to help the victims of the disaster. He would treasure everything around him even more.

The nominations list for "The 7th China Changchun Film Festival" held on the 12th this month was announced yesterday. Leon was nominated for the Best Actor award for "Leaving Me Loving You"

In the charity bid jointly organised by Oriental Daily and The Sun Newspaper charity funds, Leon donated his Gold Song Gold Award which he had won in the 1997 Jade Solid Gold Best 10 Awards with the song, "Just Love For Me One Day", to be bidded from a starting price of HK$10,000. The most special thing about this award is it was engraved with diamonds.

Leon said, "It is very difficult to win the Gold Song Gold Award. When I won this award at that time, I was really very happy and I treasured it very much. This time, the natural disaster had taken away many lives. When I watched the news reports, I felt that I'm very tiny. An award is only something outside your body. If you could help others by donating it, why not?"

Leon had also donated his 1995 Jade Solid Gold Most Popular Male Singer Award to another charity bid organised by atnext.com, with a starting price of HK$5,000.

Unicef Goodwill Ambassador, Leon Lai, and Unicef Hong Kong Committee Vice-Chairman, Mrs Anson Chan attended a cheque presentation for "South Asia Earthquake Tsunami Fund-Raising". Both of them represented Unicef to accept the donation cheques from different companies and organisations. Presently, over HK$48 million had been raised, but the whole disaster area require over much more to take care of the 1.5 million children affected by the disaster.

Besides giving a hand, Leon also donated HK$100,000 to Unicef on the spot. He said that it was only a small token. In the past, although he is Unicef ambassador, most of the time he mainly gave a helping hand. This time, he would contribute money as well. Would he urge his fan club to initiate a fund-raising activity? He said, "These things should be done with own initiative. Actually, for those who care, whether they are fan club members or not, they will take their own initiative to make a call to donate. Artists are only a type of motivation force, a slight assistance."

However, Leon felt that when such a disaster happened and everyone were so enthusiastic in giving help, everyone have to be calm. He said, "With so many food and relief goods sent to the disaster area suddenly, they haven't finish handling the bodies, and now they still have to handle the decaying food, and the many clothes." He felt that an organisation should set up first to assess the situation of the disaster area and see what is needed. It must be systematic and the usage of donations should be transparent. He said, "There's a possibility of an 'over-donation' situation."

About the incidents of children being raped in part of the disaster area, Leon said, "This matter has to be solved by their local government." Have he thought of visiting the disaster area? "I don't want to be a burden rather than a help. Just do what you can and have the ability to do. Different people have different roles. Victims have the role of victims and Hong Kong play the role to help others. This is our fate and fortune."

Leon arrived at the Hong Kong Stadium at 5pm and performed at an earlier time for the Crossing Borders Fund Raising Show. He described Hong Kong as a fortunate place and no one would expect in a rare holiday, while enjoying the sunlight at the beach, a huge wave suddenly took away everything. In the end, the things that floated up were all bodies. This was the century's biggest disaster. His participation in giving a hand was more meaningful than anything. Leon performed very early at around 5pm. It was guessed that it was because he had to attend another very important event, as yesterday was his old schoolmate *** assistant, Alan's wedding day.

Leon, who had stopped receiving Hong Kong music awards for many years, also attended the "2004 Jade Solid Gold Awards" as a performing guest. A group of anonymous donors donated HK$3 million to Community Chest to request for Leon to sing at the awards presentation. Therefore, as one of the committee members of Community Chest, Leon sang "Deep words not spoken yet" which won him the 1996 Gold Song Gold Award, "I love you so much - 1998 Gold SOng Gold Award, and his new song "A Promise". Leon urged Hongkongers not to forget to donate the needy in Hong Kong while they donate to the South Asia Tsunami victims.

Leon attended the JSG Top 10 Awards and sang three songs; "Deep Words Not Spoken Yet" & "I Love You So Much" and "Promise". Anonymous donors had donated HK$3 million to hear him sing at the show.

With the movie, "Leaving Me Loving You", Leon won the Best Actor Award in the "Changchun Film Festival" last night. About the rumours earlier that said that he attended the film festival to exchange for the award, he said, "I don't know how this news came about. Actually, winning the award or not is not important to me. I've experienced not winning the award even though I'm nominated in the Golden Horse and Hong Kong Film Awards, and have already been used to the feeling of only being nominated but not winning the award. If the person who spread the news did it with good intention to help to promote the film festival, I don't have anything to say. But if it was with ill-intention to stab on me, I feel that it's unfair."

To celebrate Valentine's Day with fans, Leon specially released a special version of "Love & Promises" which came with a free silver necklace earlier. Fans could also use the necklace to buy a diamond ring series engraved with Leon's signature at a discount price, and at the same time get a free Leon 903 concert vcd. Yesterday, many Leon fans went to the jewellery shop to buy the diamond ring. According to the staff of the jewellery shop, many fans had come to the jewellery shop to buy the diamond rings recently. As the response was very good, they had already increased their stock for the diamond rings. And according to a staff from a CD shop in Tsim Sha Tsui, the sales of Leon's "Love & Promises" special version was very good and they had already ordered more from the record company. The spokesperson of the record company said that the sales of this CD had already exceeded Gold Records sales and was moving towards Platinum Records sales.

The night before, Leon attended the 1st aniversary celebration of a 3G mobile phone network as its spokesperson. During the event, he called up the network's customer using video mobile phone and gave out presents. During the Chinese New Year, Leon would have 3 days holiday and on the 4th day of the Chinese New Year, he would be in Vancouver performing in "S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fund-Raising Gala", and stay there for 3-4 days. Did Leon have any plans for the holiday? He said that he did not plan but he had considered going back to Beijing.

Leon just set up East Asia Record Production this year, would he start the new year in the company? He said that these things would be handled by the company's colleagues. Would he give out red packets? He reacted very fast and said, "Then the most important thing is to find the person who is married and ask for the red packets first." The reporter said with a new company and new style, the red packet should be very big, right? Leon said, "There's no relation. The 'starting work' red packets have to be distributed, of course it would be a small gift with deep affection. It's just a form of encouragement. I believe the company's colleagues would not mind. It's an auspicious thing to do, just like you would be very happy when you received the big red packet from your father when you were a small kid."

Recently, it was rumoured that Sammi would leave Warner Music and join East Asia Music. Leon said that these things were best left to Sammi to announce herself. When it was confirmed, then he would say. He said, "You won't pick a fruit which is not ripe yet." On the other hand, about Tian Liang being kicked out of the National Diving Team, would Leon feel that it was a pity? He felt that this matter should be left to Tian Liang and the country to handle, and there was no need to continue to create more news.

Leon had cooperated with Law Kar Ying many years ago in "Class of Distinction". When he learned about the news of Law Kar Ying contracting cancer from the newspaper, he immediately remembered James Wong who still dubbed for "Leaving Me Loving You" when he was already seriously ill. At that time, when Mark Lui told him that James was not feeling very well, he immediately asked James, but James said he was alright and was very positive. He believed that Law Kar Ying is also a positive person and has the fighting spirit, and believed that he would definitely win the fight. He hoped that everyone do not disturb Law Kar Ying and could wish for him in the heart to win the fight.

Dia bukan jenis yg gay atau bisexual, tapi dia jenis yg belum ader komitmen terhadap hidup berkeluarga.... sbb dia fobia mak & ayah dia bercerai masa dia kecik2 dulu - itu ikut alasan Leon sendiri.Tapi kalo kita tengok, biiasa lah artis Hong Kong... dah jadi trend diaorg kawin lambat.
