uols rasa ok ke exora ni...i kena buat decision dlm 2 hari ni nak beli ke tidak...kata adik ipar kalau exora keluar avanza jatuh harga...sekarang guna avanza..so lbh baik jual sekarang...adik ipar ni keja dgn one datuk yg ada kedai proton..so senang blh dpt stok awal tak payah tunggu lama..

adik ipar tu salesman jual kereta...mcm2 kereta dia jual..yg recon dari jepun pun..dia bg tau avanza nanti dah tak ada resale value...dia baru aja jualkan 35k aja..jual kat kedai use car 41k....lg lama simpan lg tak ada resale value...
sbb exora ni katanya ada tv lah, leather seatlah ada air bag lah avanza mana ada tapi harga avanza lbh kurang exora

tak semestinya beb, resale value bukan bergantung kepada harga kete lain, tapi pada demand. lagi satu, kalau kete tu buatan mesia, resale value dier pong cam haprak jugak aper..

dulu sekitar tahun 1993-1995, iswara brand new RM36k, tapi sebab demand tak hingat, secondhand pong bleh cecah RM38K.. uhuhuhuuhu

AYOYO aku punya hak 1.3 tu lah..almost 4 years pakai ni....guna gomen loan 2.1%..aja..tadi adik ipar called dia kan salesman ada 3 org nak beli..sorang offer 35k, 36k dan 38k....adik ipar soh ambil yg 76k punya exora...berbelah bagi ni nak beli ke tidak ni...

Wednesday, April 1, 2009Proton Exora Undisguised ImagesThe following set of pictures of the Proton Exora MPV were receivedfrom an anonymous reader, with no further information. Official launchwill be on 15-April 2009.





Theseare not the first set of undisguised images that I have come across butthe one thing that I am curious to know of is why are there twodifferent front grille design? The set of photos below are supposedly pre-production models. Note the different front grille.


Theseshould be the same model grade as both sets of pictures show the samewheel designs, body coloured mirrors and door handles plus front foglamps, which suggest this to be a high-end "Hi-line" model.


Boththe Avanza and the Grand Livina will no doubt face a lot of heat fromthe Exora. The Avanza is the oldest of the lot, with rather crudeinteriors. It's unique selling point is now down to its low price1.3-litre version and the public favourite T-badge. However, contraryto popular perception, the Avanza is actually a Daihatsu developedmodel (Xenia) mainly for the developing Indonesian market, but thelocal Toyota distributor fought hard and managed convince TMC group tosell the model locally as a Toyota rather than a Perodua (Daihatsu'slocal JV partner). You can tell whether a Toyota badged model is aToyota developed product by simply looking at its engine bay - if thetrademark VVT-i badge is stamped on the engine block it is a Toyotadeveloped model. If it's a VVT-i sticker it's a Daihatsu OEM sourcedproduct with a Daihatsu engine.

Salesman of both makes will gointo overdrive claiming the Exora will suffer from high fuelconsumption and long term engine durability due the small 1.6-litreCamPro CPS engine and the Exora's high kerb weight, which by the way isthe heaviest of the lot.

Fair point, but neither the Toyota orthe Nissan is the final word in real world fuel economy anyway. Plus,Nissan salesman are quick to claim that the Livina shares the sameengine as the Latio / Tiida hatch and sedan sold all over the world.But they seem to conveniently ignore the fact that the 1.6-litre Livinadoes not have the CVTC variable valve timing feature available in the1.6-litre Latio.

Anyway fuel economy is more dependent on yourright foot than anything else. Best is to try the vehicle for yourself,though I highly doubt that 80% of the potential buyers who are reallyin the market for an affordable MPV are put off by the engineperformance.

On a macro industry level, I wonder if this signalsa "Game Over" for non-national makes in the MPV segment, especiallywhen you consider the fact that Perodua too will be launching a locallyrebadged version of the Daihatsu Sirion Luminas(Toyota Passo Sette). Foreign car makers have been very patient withthe Malaysian government's flip-flop long term policy for the Malaysiancar industry and they are not going to sit around very much longer.Budget models like the Avanza and Vios is one of the main reason TMCpoured so much investment in Malaysia, including building of a metalstamping plant.

The slightly higher end MPV segment are one ofthe few segments that non-national makes can compete "fairly" in. Withthe protectionist measures continue to be imposed and a diminishingmarket opportunity for these foreign makes, many of these companieswill just pack-up and leave for Thailand. It is interesting to notethat despite the many political coup that troubles Thailand, it doesnot seem to affect the confidence of many carmakers who continue topour in money to Thailand. The thing about Thailand is that althoughtheir government may change, their macro policies don't. In contrast,Malaysia have gone through a lot less Prime Ministers in the sameperiod of time, but yet is unable to properly follow through oneconsistent policy. Aren't APs supposed to be phased out? But we allknow what happens after a group of politically groups started makingsome noises.
