HOLY CRAP! This movie is a COMEDY!!!!
I heard laughter all throughout the movie, and yes! I was giggling to no end during the movie too! Pure crack!
From a standpoint of someone who read the book, it sucks really bad. And if I haven’t read the book before, I wouldn’t really get it, especially the relationship between Edward and Bella.
She stared at him. He glared at her. He was missing. She looked around for him. He came back. He talked to her. He saved her. He ignored her. He talked to her. He saved her (again). She figured it out what he was. BAM! They’re in love.
The audience went: WT*?!
Without Bella’s thought to explain things like in the book, it didn’t really make any sense.
There’s soooooo many WRONG things about this movie...
How should I do this? Chronological order is not gonna work here~ I’ll be jumping all over the place. LOL
I don’t even know who to blame, but I think director, screenwriter, editor and their team should be shot to death, so they can replace them with a new team. Seriously. Umm, add their make-up team and costume design too… along with sounds and location and hell, just murder the entire set and re-shoot this movie!
Well. Let’s start with Edward, my favorite character from the book.
Edward Cullen. Pale white and ice cold skin doesn’t really equal to corpse with lipstick look! He’s supposed to be BEAUTIFUL, graceful, stunning, gorgeous, godlike, exquisite, dazzling, etc etc go read the book (or download it somewhere!), but he is not. Not.At.All..EDWARDDDDDD *wails* The intro scene for him and his family was super crack though. All those close up shots also showed his wrinkles.. he looked way older than 17!!!
And what’s up with Edward covering his nose when he first caught her scent when vamps could hold their breath and completely stop breathing! LOL Excuse me, but it’s still very cold in Washington during March, who needs a big huge giant random fan in a classroom?! XDD
Edward ’slooooooowly’ jumping over Bella’s truck after he saved her cracked me up to another galaxy.
Rob Pattinson, slap him for switching accents back and forth! And his voice was so not velvet when he ‘murmured’ (if you read the book, Edward hardly spoke, he usually either murmured or whispered.. from Bella’s POV at least LOL). When he said hello to Bella the first time, I almost fell off my seat xD I think he tried too hard, especially during the first hours of the movie, his acting went totally overboard, which I actually blamed the directer for this one ^^” Those brooding eyeballs moments were such laughing materials.
[OT] if I can pick one person to be Edward at this moment, River Phoenix is my choice. Yeah, I know he died 15 years ago, but I still think he’s a perfect Edward. ^^ (totally agree with this! River Phoenix also my pure choice!)
When I saw him handed Bella the apple, and his sleeves were tucked up, his arms were so hairy *cringes*
GLITTER EFFECT! This one got my WTF?! award of the year! It’s the crappiest effect ever. Okay, vampires should be beautifully sparkling like diamond under the sunlight (yes, lame, but blame it on Stephenie Meyer here!), but WTF with glittering lotion effect they used! Or did they throw him into a glitter glue pool? He looked.. wet. UGH. If that’s not enough, Robert Pattinson, GO WAX YOUR DAMN CHEST HAIR! Ewwww! Minus 1000 points for hairy chest! >”< oh, and the glittering SOUND EFFECT! LOL Major laughing here!
You know, Legolas glowed with style in LOTR, but Edward sparkled in the cheapest way ever, if you asked me.
oh and how convenient that in this entire forest, they found a one perfect spot to have sunlight shone through like a spotlight!? LOL
Meadow! FAIL FAIL FAIL! no mention of their meadow at all, what on earth will Bella search for in New Moon when they didn’t even mention about this spot at all? But we got sparkling!Edward again! YAY! ROFL
Edward jumping from tree to tree was hilarious. BTW, his nails were dirty when he touched Bella’s chest LOL yeah right, he just grabbed a tree trunk and threw it away~

Above was a pretty cheesy but cute dialogue in the book, but I think it was delivered at the wrong moment in the film. The impact of those lines was gone.
oh, and since when did Edward ever wear sunglasses? It’s very OOC for him to do that. Plus, I could never believe that Alice would let Edward leave the house with those outfits. So. Wrong! Plus, this Edward was too laid back, IMO. He’s over a hundred years old, they should have tried to show his depth in this film… nada. He’s just look like a regular high school boy. bleh. Spider monkey? no no.
He showed up in her bedroom, admitted in a very creepy way that he’s been watching her sleep for the past couple of months, and then he wanted to try ’something’, then kissed her, then she kissed him back, and we saw that she’s in her undies and can I say it again that Washington is freaking cold at night, especially in Forks which is supposed to be the rainiest place in the US? LOL
Bella’s single emo face was driving me nuts (in a very amusing way). She looked like a confused fish who’s scared pretty much all the time. But the point in Twilight was that she’s not supposed to be scared when she’s with Edward, but she looked that way all the time! xD
No sleeptalking, what a disappointment! I expected her to moan out Edward’s name when we first saw her in bed, having a nightmare or something since she’s writhing.. *giggles* ..because it was a pretty significant moment for Edward to hear her say his name when he first came to watch her (read Midnight Sun)
Anyway, nothing top Bella’s imagination of Vamp!Edward biting her neck. I almost choked on my Sprite! Laughing spree. Very Herlequin Romance, indeed! XDD
Charlie wins, he was the best actor in this film.. the poor deer came in pretty close too LOL
Jessica was not as bitch as she’s supposed to be LOL Angela and Eric? Nooo!! Where’s little Ben!?
Rosalie is supposed to be a super beautiful woman, holy hell, she looks so old… with giant hips. x__x’ She had to many extra lines too, while Alice almost had nothing. -”-
but Alice and Jasper landed with a big THUD when Bella came to their house. I thought vampires were supposed to be creepily quiet, the way they walked, moved jumped, and all. Remember Edward got inside Bella’s room without a sound!
Sad story for Emmett and Jasper, they hardly got a chance to speak up -”-
James actually looked more attractive than the Cullens LOL
Close-up shots. oh god, why did they have to zoooooom in to someone’s face every 30 seconds? To show us all the make up flaws? XDD
Vamp!Make up .. I could never laugh enough to see CONTACT LENSES on their eyes every single time they had a close-up shot! Dear Editor, are you BLIND?! Esme’s face had 2 colors, you could easily see where make up meet either real skin or the wig! *rolls eyes* The thing that bugs me most is the production. The book itself is cheesy but at least squeeable in some parts, however, the production made it 20x worse. It’s like they didn’t have any quality control. Like when the Nomads showed up at the baseball game, they forgot to delete the damn sling. ugh!
It’s like they take bits and pieces and put them next to each other, without even realizing that they didn’t really flow together. Storyline had no focus, they kept skipping from here to there without focusing on anything.
They also changed the story a lot. I know that they had to cut down some details to make it fit into a movie, but cutting some very important parts and adding some extra scenes didn’t really make any sense to me. Lots of wrong place at the wrong time stuff. Including the soundtrack. OMG what did they think to use Rob’s song as a BGM when Edward’s talking! LOL *shakes head*
That “say it out loud, say it!” “vampire!” lines cracked me up to Pluto ever since I saw the trailer. Could it be more obvious? XDD
Crack overloaded when Jacob told Bella about the old Quillayute’s tale. I laughed soooooo hard at the flashback of 4 vampires feeding off their prey, wearing classic outfits with hats! LOL You gotta be kidding me, throwing sepia color on top, YAY we got something from the past! XDD
How could I forget to mention this?! Edward’s flashback about when he and Esme became vampire! I almost died laughing when I saw Carlisle bit Edward’s neck in sepia color ROFL well, he’s supposed to be in pain but can I count this as an ‘intimate’ moment in this film? LOL
I wish they would include “Do I dazzle you?” “Frequently” lines, those were lame, but it described Edward, he’s supposed to be dazzling!
Bella on Google! ROFL, dude, do you really have to show us how you search the Cold Ones up? And navigate through each page with each click? LOL
Billy Black was driving! I thought he sold his truck to Charlie because he’s now in a wheelchair and couldn’t drive anymore XDD
They basically assumed that everyone read the book already? There’s no mention of Bella’s Lullaby. How could you know that he’s playing the song that he wrote for her, inspired by her, had you not read the book? -”- Bella’s Lullaby was one of the sweetest moment in the book, and what’s with that super blue lighting, with Bella spawned on the couch? ick
Speaking of a couch, Edward’s room was decorated in black and gold. Definitely black leather sofa, not WHITE. And his room was really small and messy in the movie, it was a big surprise to me LOL
Ballet studio. James! I thought you want to kill Edward!! Why did you lightly touch his neck and almost caressing his cheek? *shivers at the thoughts* ROFL! Grab it harder, dude!
Edward sucking venom out of the bite was one of the most hilarious moments. He looked so funny. Major disappointment where he didn’t stop by himself! Carlisle had to tell him repeatedly to STOP STOP EDWARD STOP! pssst! Hence, the missing “It was impossible to stop. Impossible. But I did. I must love you” in the hospital.
That oxygen thing in made Bella’s nose looked goofy. And the way Edward pretended to be asleep was such a crack. What a bum, he just kissed her forehead. In the book, he kissed her lips and her heart stopped beating for a second. I thought it was such a cute moment, and they ditched it! grrrrr…
Prom. Bella, you’re not supposed to be able to walk like that, the cast was there for some reasons, young lady! Her dress wasn’t as stunning as I imagined, but it’s passable. However, her cardigan/jacket must go. Along with that stupid leggings! LEGGINGS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! *giggling fits* And what, a Converse? Where was that stiletto heel? ARGH!
The dance was quite hilarious, it should be an ‘effortless waltzing’ since Bella was like featherlight to Edward.. well, didn’t really look that way, eh? XDD
And can you believe that there was no “I LOVE YOU” from both Edward and Bella…
A major kiss was missing and some tiny little ones where Edward ran his nose along her jawline, those mini romantic moments, all gone!
p/s: mcm kite ckp before, nih another insight, no offence to anybody who loves this movie, but this is just not my piece of meat... may be i'm too immersed in buffy, angel, supernatural, moonchild and vampire knight types of vamps... kite lg prefer a vamp who can suck my blood from vein and giving some hot rush in my blood, that's what a vamp supposed to be, a loyal and royal thrill of romance... now i can go back to vampire knight and crying out my tears when kaname suck the blood from the yuki's vein...
