Priyanka Chopra inaugurates a cancer ward in memory of her dad

Priyanka Chopra inaugurated a new cancer ward at the Nanavati hospital today. The ward has been named after her dad, Dr Ashok Chopra who lost his brave battle to cancer in June this year.

Priyanka is also believed to have donated Rs 50 lakh to help build this ward.

In Priyanka's words, "Loosing my father was the most difficult situation I ever had to deal with. Cancer and its many complications may have taken him away from us but it never broke his fighting spirit. He was a true inspiration and I have lent my support to this initiative not only to honour his memory but also to take his fight against this dreaded disease forward."

Deepika copies Ash

Deepika Padukone in Ram-Leela holds an uncanny resemblance to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan


Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Romeo Juliet set against the backdrop of Gujarat is reminding us of SLB's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (HDDCS). The character of Leela played by Deepika looks quite similar to Nandini (played by Aishwarya Bachchan) in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Here are some of the similarities we spotted between the two leading ladies.

The dance
One look at the Nagada sang dhol baaje and you remember Dhol baaje from HDDCS. Deepika’s whirling dance moves remind us of Aishwarya. Though Ash is a trained dancer and graceful, Deepika too puts her best foot forward.


The adas
Lahu muh lag gaya from Ram-Leela has the naughty feeling of Aankhon ki gustakhiyan. Though Ash is all coy in her version, Deepika's character is bold enough to kiss her lover on his lips. Both the songs have the ladies playing garba and stealing glances at their paramours.


The chemistry
When HDDCS happened, Ash was dating her then boyfriend and co-star Salman Khan. Now Deepika too is said to be seeing Ranveer Singh. So the off-screen chemistry surely on the silver screen.


The beauty
SLB is known to make his actresses look royal whether in a lehenga or in a Victorian gown. Aishwarya looked beautiful in ghaghra cholis and sarees – perhaps her very best in HDDCS and Devdas. While going by the rushes of Ram-Leela, Deepika looks drop-dead gorgeous too. Considering there are steamy scenes, Deepika’s curves are well-displayed. As SLB vouches, she will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar.
