Nada jalan2 dekat komen dramabeans tadi, dan terbaca short interview PD Jelousy Incarnate selepas tamat drama baru-baru ni.
PD Park Sin-Woo of ‘JealousyIncarnate’ had a question and answer [OSEN]
Q: How do you feel now that you finished the drama?
A: It was really fun. Regardless of outcome concerning ratings, I feel I did a meaningful project. We had such ideal work environment. There might have been differences in ideas and preferences, but never was any lacking or mistake. The writer wrote long 24 pieces of script, but she put meaningful lines or scenes, and staff put their efforts more than I expected. This was possible thanks to the staffs.
Q:There were scenes like a sitcom including the wedding scene and CGs. There were fun to look at, but must’ve not been easy scenes to shoot.
A: Drama kept changing. On what we thought originally, I added some, writer-nim added some, and drama was changed that way. There were somethings I did which was not in the script, and the writer used them as a connecting situation. It worked out so well. There are some writers who don’t like something added which is not in the script, but fortunately the writer Seo Sook-hyang liked it and used it. Also actors gave many ideas.
Q: It was also fun to find some hint/details hidden in every scene.
A: Many people gave ideas when I said I was going to do that. The staffs who were eager to get involved and vice-director pitched in with new ideas. At first we planned not to stand out with hints, and we made it ambiguous so that the viewers couldn’t catch it, but these days’ young people are so good at readinga screen. So I thought we should just show clearly. It was all possible because competent veteran staffs worked together.
Q: Jo Jung-suk and Gong Hyo-jin’s acting had good feedback in every episode. Especially their kiss scene and bed scene created buzz. How were they?
A: As you know they are such good actors. Before shooting started, they discussed their experiences saying “How do you do this? I am going this way.” And they matched their acts. They acted well, were nice, and considerate of each other’s acting. Actually actor is an occupation to use up emotions, so it is very hard to be considerate of their acting partner. For more than half of the scripts, Jo and Gong thought about it with head, felt emotions and spit out their lines, still they could afford being considerate of each other and they were very close. They are perfects actors in personality and acting ability.
Q: Funny scenes were nice, but the most impressive scene was their doing news. Especially the scene they covered election results looked almost real.
A: Actually reporters have their own tone, way of speaking. Jo Jung-suk imitated a reporter’s way of reporting. He actually tried to express what the broadcast reports do. So it felt realistic. Also he played a reporter role in his previous project, so he did well.
Gong Hyo-jin’s case was different. Nari used hard tone on purpose. They tried to show difference between announcer and reporter. So we made it emotionless and hard. Both did so well. I am grateful for that.
Q: The theme of man having a breast cancer was meaningful and unique.
A: The writer picked a unique topic. Even if they are minority, there are really male breasts cancer patients. There are people who said they found about their illness and started the treatment thanks to the drama. I think it is very fortunate.
