TOKIO to be on 24 Hour TV for a Record Breaking Third Time!
TOKIO will be taking part in the Nippon TV category program [24 Hour TV 33 - Love Saves the Earth]. On the program airing through August 28th and 29th the personalities of the members will be revealed. Previously they have been taking part in that program in 1998 and 2003 and after 7 years, they are now back in focus for a third time. This year the program will be on air for the 33rd times, which is the very most until now for the same program to be aired.
This year's topic will be [ありがとう～今、あの人に伝えたい～ / Arigatou / Thank You ~Now I would like to say thank you to this person~] Producer Yasuoka Yoshirou said "It is great to have TOKIO taking part in this, with the program in its 30's staring for the 3rd time showing their personalities. To say [Thank You] they will first of all have to sweat!
Yamaguchi Tetsuya, who will be staring in the series for the 4th time, personally, due to his previous appearance as a marathon runner in 1997, commented on the project "I think it will be different from what we experiences in the 24 Hour TV program the last two times. I also remember the charity marathon we did in the last century and I would be happy that with that same feeling of happiness, we can say Thank You with a smile."
In 2009 TOKIO had been moving to Tokyo Big Sight, however, they will be returning with their base to Nippon Budokan for 2010!

Huge Japanese pop group SMAP will perform in the Expo Cultural and Performing Arts Center on June 13, the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination said today.
Free tickets can be reserved free at the center, which can hold 18,000 people, on the day for the 1pm concert. The production will include a medley of hit songs and interaction with fans.
This will be the first time the group, which has gained popularity around Asia during the past two decades, performs outside Japan.
The current members of SMAP, which stands for Sports Music Assemble People, are Masahiro Nakai, Takuya Kimura, Goro Inagaki, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi and Shingo Katori.
SMAP, considered a Japanese "idol" band because of the huge profile of its members, released its first CD "Can't Stop LOVING" in 1991 and has since released more than 40 singles and 20 albums. They are also involved in TV series, movies, entertainment programs and musicals.
In addition to SMAP members starring in dramas and movies, their music is widely known, and they boast great popularity in China as Japan's top group.
"We are honored to obtain the opportunity to participate in the grand Expo," said SMAP members. "We believe that June 13 will be a memorable day for us as well as Chinese fans."

"SP" movie split into two parts

Fans of the "SP" drama series, starring Junichi Okada (29) of V6, have been waiting a long time for the theatrical film version, titled "SP THE MOTION PICTURE." It has now been announced that the film will actually be split into two parts, with the first one scheduled for this fall.
The action-packed drama originally aired in 2007-2008, followed by a special episode in April 2008. Around the time of the special episode, it was revealed that a movie version was in the works, but it ended up being delayed until this fall. After 8 months of filming, the project is finally coming to a close.
Although the two films are collectively known as "SP THE MOTION PICTURE," each will have its own subtitle. The first film is labeled as "Yabou-hen" and is due in theaters on October 30. The second will be "Kakumei-hen," scheduled for release in spring 2011.
