[08.05.09] Korea's pop culture summer award ceremony (the third annual 2009 Mnet 20's Choice) nominees revealed!
Onthe 5th of August at 8pm, through the Mnet Wide Entertainment Newslivebroadcast, the 20 award categories and nominees for 2009 Mnet20'sChoice (which will be held for the third time) were revealed.
The2009 Mnet 20's Choice, which will be held on the 28th of August,isKorea's summer pop culture award ceremony where the real cultureiconsamong hot trendsetters will be chosen by people in their 20's.
Differentfrom normal award ceremonies, there will be a blue carpet atthe Mnet20's Choice, exceptional performances, and a voting which willfocus onthe 20's; and with the introduction of many new awardcategories, theevent got praises like "An up-to-date and revolutionaryconcept," whichresulted in showing off their sensational lineup ofaward categoriesand nominees which you won't be able to see at otheraward ceremonies.
Theaward categories and nominees were chosen by reporters,magazineeditors, movie promoters, designers, people in charge ofclothingbrands, moderators of portal sites, operators of forums,universitystudents, 50 small-scale trend leaders and from a survey on ahomepagewhich only runs for people in their 20's. The data was alsobased offan offline survey and on-and-offline data.
It's said thatseveral industries, which are dependent on the trends ofpeople intheir 20's (such as fashion, broadcasting, andadvertisementindustries) are showing much interest in this event andwith thereflecting thoughts, sense and interests of these people, theawardcategories and nominees of the 2009 Mnet 20's Choice are showingus thetrends of this year.
Award categories and nominees are soon 2009's trend focus!
Inthe context of the 2009 Mnet 20's Choice, an award ceremonyrepresenting the 20's, it was decided to have 20 award categories.
Thecategories are decided depending on the trend each year andawardcategories new this year, like girl group style/mister beauty/boomupsong/etc., are drawing attention. The "girl group style" award hasbeencreated due to the big influence on the fashion market through thegirlgroup craze. Additionally, a new award called "mister beauty" hasbeencreated to focus on handsome men. Another category attractingattentionis "boom up song." This category features songs from variouspopularCFs and dramas.
Following the trend of the "middle-agedbeauties," Yoon Sanghyun, GoHyunjung, Kim Namjoo, Kim Taewon, SeonwooYong Nyuh and other stars intheir 30's are also on the nominee list,whilethe F4 from the drama "Boys Over Flowers" set a record forbeingnominated in several categories. Especially Lee Minho, who hasbeennominated in 5 categories, has made 2009 his year.
This year,many love relationships have been revealed and thus it isexpected thatthe competition in the category "Hot Couple" with KimYongjoon &Hwang Jungeum, No Hongchul & Jang Yoonjung, Se7en& ParkHanbyul, Junjin & Lee Shiyoung and Tablo & KangHyejung will betough.

Theaward categories and nominees have been revealed through the MnetWideEntertainment News live broadcast on the 5th of August and the listcanbe seen on the Mnet homepage (www.mnet.com). You can participate in thevoting through the official homepage "Mnet 20's Choice"(http://choice.mnet.com)and Mnet Mobile 2566 (mobile 2566 + internetkey) starting from 9pmafter the announcement on Wide EntertainmentNews on the 5th of August,and it is planned to add 50% of the votingresults to 50% of the resultsof research on people in their 20's.
Ratherthan just looking at the preferences of people in their 20's, itisplanned to analyze and examine more in-depth with a separation ofageclasses from early-middle-late, so that the award ceremonies aremoreconvincing.
The 2009 Mnet 20's Choice, which will unite hottrends in a hot summer,will be broadcast live on the 28th of Augustfrom the Jamsil Gymnasiumfrom 5pm to 10pm.

@2:49 The MC asks the onlookers if they like BOF and they all answer yes. She asks them what they liked about it.One says she liked everything,,the bitter and sweet love, the swing scene where Joonpyo and Jandi kiss was so charming...

@3:37 MC sits where JP sat waiting for JD in the cold.
@3:43 GHS: That day all I remember is how cold it was. It was so cold that we had to share a portable heater during filming and try to overcome the difficulty of the cold weather of that winter.
@4:01 MC: Was the filming long that day?
GHS: Yes, we had to work throughout the whole night until the next morning.
@4:15 They meet up with LMH. GHS calls out LMH and MC calls him with ssi at the end of his name out of respect.
GHS jokingly says to MH, were you pretending that you did not see us.
@4:43 MC Has it been a long time since you each other?
GHS: We saw each other about three weeks ago.
MC: Three weeks ago, for reason did you see each other?
LMH: She is so multi-talented that she had a gallery opening that day so I went to support and to see her.
@5:43 MC asks where they sat for the filming of the cable cart scene and both show how they sat trying not to touch each other. GHS comments that, that day, MH had a runny nose that "trickle, trickle down". Then MH says that HS has a runny nose that "flow, flow down". They are just making fun of each other as they alwasy have done even on the set in a joking way. (They were describing how their nose ran--MH is saying if my nose trickled down, HS' nose flowed down.)
@5:45 MC: Was there any memorable event that day in the cable cart?
LMH: I really fell asleep on her shoulder---
MC: Because you were so tired? MH says Yes.
@6:18 MC Did you know about the original work of BOF before being casted?
LMH: It is such a famous original work that I knew about it. But after I was casted, I saw the original dramas already made.
MC: Once casted, how did you feel?
LMH: I felt so lucky for have been casted for such a wonderful role. It felt like I won a lottery.
(they visit the Teddy Bear museum and look around. I think JP and JaeKyung went on a date there. GHS was saying these bears are good as gifts.)
@8:05 MC: In the BOF drama, both JP and JD had many scenes where theyreally could not be very honest about feelings for each other. If you are dating somebody, would you be any different or same to the person that you are intersted in?
GHS: I tend to be honest about those things and express my feelings.
MC: Even before the other person confess his feelings?
GHS: Yes, because I have no patience to wait. I have a personality that cannot wait.
LMH: For me, I think I would be more careful. If I like somebody, I will take a long time to just observe that person and see.
MC: Did you ever receive any special, romantic event or gift from a boyfriend before?
GHS: Yes, there was a time that I did receive such. However, I prefer to give than to get.
MC: like what?
GHS: I have not done this yet, but I would like to get a licence to operate a plane and take my boyfriend on a plane ride.
LMH: The person riding besides you would be scared to death! (Laughter breaks out.)
Both LMH first and GHS say their good byes with asking the audience to watch and enjoy BOF and to take care of their health in hot weather
