Ryo Nishikido 1st Movie "Chonmage Purin" to Use Kiyoshiro Imawano's Song
NEWS and Kanjani∞ member Ryo Nishikido (錦戸亮)'s first movie "Chonmage Purin/ちょんまげぷりん" will premiere on July 31. In the movie, the Samurai Yasubei (cast Nishikido) travels through time from Edo period to the modern time, meets with a young boy and becomes a patisserie after making puddings. And the ending theme song is decided to be "REMEMBER YOU" written by Kiyoshiro Imawano (忌野清志郎) who passed away in last May.
The song was included in "GOD" released in 2005. Nakamura, the movie director, said: "When I wrote the script of the movie, I listened to a variety of songs, and I thought 'it would be perfect if my movie is like this' and I tried to impress the producer. I hope each audience has a good mood after watching the movie and listening to 'REMEMBER YOU'" How will the combination of Kiyoshiro and Chonmage Purin look like? Let's look forward to the movie!

94-second trailer for Chonmage Purin starring Nishikido Ryo
The official website for Chonmage Purin has been overhauled and now includes a new 94-second trailer. The film was directed by Yoshihiro Nakamura (Fish Story, Golden Slumber) for Johnny & Associates subsidiary J Storm.
Based on Gen Araki’s novel “Fushigi no Kuni no Yasubei” (Yasubei in Wonderland), the film stars Ryo Nishikido of the pop group NEWS/Kanjani8 as Yasubei, a samurai from Edo period Japan who somehow slips forward in time 180 years to the present.
Confused by his unfamiliar surroundings, he wanders to the home of a single mother named Hiroko (Rie Tomosaka) and her 6-year-old son Tomoya (Fuku Suzuki). In exchange for allowing him to stay there, Yasubei offers to do work around the house. After making purin (Japanese-style custard) for Tomoya, Yasubei proves he has a knack for preparing sweets and eventually becomes a popular pastry chef.
“Chonmage Purin” will be released by J Storm in Japan on July 31, 2010.
