yes tis is typical johorean dish but without the orange.  my mum just baling limau purut jer!  memang sedap sangat2 lah especially with red snapper.

sihat...Kak Min sihat? yerlah...lama gak kan..

hai darling....yes sihat alhamdulillah.  baru jer lah sihat ni cos i have been so busy terbang sana sini sinun n attending banyak functions since balik brunei.  badan tak leh accept cos different zones selalu, so akak demam kerana terlalu letih.

ni next week nak terbang kebali, then g kapalai mid sept n myanmmar in october.  december pulak balik semula ke uk.  hah itinery sangat penoh maasyaAllah.

mana tak badan sakit2

yes periok tanah merah tu memang the best. since my dad ada keturunan indian kami masak kari kena pakai periuk tanah, even asam pedas n segala gulai pakai periuk tanah.

lagi 1 periuk tembaga tu, adoi orang dulu2 memang takleh challenge lah bab authentic cookings ni.  btw mana nak carik periuk tanah merah ni ek? kat sini takder jual hah.

sambal belacan thai ni dia boh terong pipit tu khen but kasik letak atas nasik panas dulu ler.  but then akak tak boleh makan pedas2.  kalo pedas cket pun tak tahan. siap kuor air mata hah.

i missed all the pedas foods but then nak wat mcm mana, dah doctor tak bagi makan khen, cket2 pedas jer boleh, half a chilli perhaps

ha ah kicap cair yg orang thais pakai, they call it kicap ikan or sotong, bau hamis sikit but the taste mmg sedap kaka

ada resipi asam pedas melaka yg buh kari and daun kari, mcm cross between asam pedas and kari nyonya style

yes chicken claypot rice with ikan kering n mushroom masak dlm claypot memang sedap.

akak ada dolsot cos suker buat korean n japanese foods.  ok lah ganti claypot n dolsot ni buat fm batu yg buat lesung tu.  unpolish granite ker?

arwah MIL dulu pernah ajar, dorang pakai perahan asam jawa tu tipis and air limau nipis, then blend dgn bawang and bawang putih, add all the perasa

that time shin dgn hubby went off the road in thailand,nampak menu semua mcm bland takda rasa, so kita cakap tumbuk kan sambal belacan buat pedas2 sikit yer, bila datang kami pun makan dgn kacang panjang ulam tu, punya lar berdesinngg, orang kata pedas berdengung, sampai rasa nak terjun laut, lidah kebas nak order air extra pun tak boleh, pandang ke tepi tengok kitchen staff tersengih

muahahaha, dorang pedajal kami agaknya,berlagak sgt

I cuba nak makan nasi claypot kat Thailand tapi saya tak tahan bau herbs tu, terus nak mun....nasi nampak sedap.

ok akak kasi versi arwah my atok yg orang melaka ok.

lada kering dipotong n direbus cket pastu bersihkan (sori akak tak pandai nak kasi estimates)
bawang merah, bawang putih, halia n kunyit.
ketumbar biji yg disangrai
belacan
sumer bahan2 atas dikisar

kelapa bakar or kerisik pun boleh
air asam
ikan dipotong (best ikan parang or ikan merah or apa saja lah)
daun kesum or bunga kantan.

bawang merah n putih hiris nipis2 sebagai bahan penumis.

panaskan minyak dlm periuk n tumis bawang merah n putih yg dipotong nipis2 n goreng smpi garing.  masukkan bahan2 yg diblend tumis sehingga garing n naik bau.  masukkan daun kantan or kesum (separuh tinggalkan).  masukkan ikan n gaul rata, then masukkan air asam n garam secukupnya.  biler mendidih n masak masukkan balance daun kesum n daun kantan n switch off fire.

serve with nasi panas2.

hahaha...akak ingat dulu masa g thailand kita mintak jangan pedas pun depa bagi pedas.  sekali dia nyer mango salad tu adoi ai...nasib baik akak check dulu.

wah tak berani ler shin so i tabik toing2 pada thais n saper2 yg can makan pedas2.

selalu akak sediakan fresh milk lah kalo makan pedas2 ni else ambek yoghurt.  kalo g thailand tu boleh ker elak foods yg tarak chili melainkan their desserts.

dolsot tu sama ker dgn claypot, i mean it's made of clay tapi mcm lacquered takut tak sedap sgt kan kaka?

batu granite mana sama nanti bahan2 tak hancur..hehehe
