The soul of TVB's grand production Triumph in the Skies II, Francis Ng, runs the show. Francis is already in his 40s and is still making a fuss. He finally agreed to be part of TITS2 for HK$80,000 per episode, but brought along a lot of 'headaches'. It was understood that for Francis' return to his maternal home (TVB) to 'help out', he would only do it on one condition, that is TVB has to accommodate his schedule. He wants to finish up his new film Du Yuesheng 杜月笙 with Chow Yun Fat before he makes his comeback. As a result, TITS was forced to push back its initial schedule from June to sometime in September. Even the Siu Sangs and FaDans including Myolie Wu, Fala Chen and Raymond Lam had to modify their entire schedule to accommodate him.
TVB planned to shoot a sequel to the 2003 popular hit Triumph in the Skies, but unfortunately after 9 years we are seeing less and less of the original cast. Flora Chan and Michelle Yip are already out, Bosco Wong is shooting in Mainland, Sammul Chan and Joe Ma left TVB and became 'traitors'. Although the sequel added Chilam Cheung, Fala Chen and Raymond Lam into the cast, but they still cannot compare to the handsome pilot Francis Ng, the 'soul' of the series.
It was understood that in the recent year Francis has been doing quite well in his career and hopes to continue the good luck in both the film and TV scene. An insider exposes: "TVB makes a hero through time. TVB accommodates everything for Francis, making him so cocky! Initially he said he's not going to shoot TITS2 at all, but then he saw an opportunity to take a beautiful spot, so he suddenly changes his mind. He even wanted two in one, asking the entire crew to accommodate his schedule. The most unexpected is TVB agreed, so the schedule all changed. He really played Chilam Cheung to the ground, who thought he would be leading! The Siu Sang and FaDans, don't have it any better because their schedules were initially already pretty tight, and now it's all confusion. TVB quickly made arrangements for them to shoot a modern series to pass the time (from June - Sept)."
TVB production director Tommy Leung confessed: "We are accommodating Francis' schedule and delaying the start date a little. We are mutually accommodating the schedules, don't say the whole world is relying on him, such negative news."
Myolie Wu: "I received internal notice, but I'm not too sure of the reason. Even if the whole world is accommodating Francis, that is not a problem, he's really a Film King. I'm just worried we can't shoot it. I heard I'll first start with a modern series, TVB will make the arrangements."
Fala Chen and Kenneth Ma were both clueless. Fala said: "All along it had been said we are starting in May, I don't know! Is this true or false?" Kenneth said: "Why is it like this? But, shooting series had always been about the scheduling, mutual accommodations. I'm already very happy to be able to participate in a grand production. It's fine to accommodate a little."

There has been a recent wave of TVB Siu Sang and FaDans leaving the company, like Charmaine Sheh, Sammul Chan and Joe Ma. In 2003, Sammul became popular after Triumph in the Skies and was known as 'S4' along with Bosco Wong, Kenneth Ma and Ron Ng. Earlier, Sammul ended his relationship with TVB and even criticized the company on iCable's interview that they are harsh to their artists. He expressed his hard work in TVB was ignored for several years and wasn't even part of the nominations for awards. He also exposed that he even had to haggle over a HK$10 raise when he was discussing for a contract renewal.
Not sure if its because of his criticisms that angered TVB, but Sammul is 'kicked out' of the Triumph in the Skies (TITS) sequel. It was said that TVB will start shooting TITS sequel at the end of this year and a movie version next year. Back then, S4 members Bosco, Kenneth and Ron of course will get boosted into fame, while Sammul gets kicked out because he already left TVB. His role is said to be replaced by Raymond Lam, creating a new S4!
In fact, when TITS broadcast in 2003, it quickly became a popular hit. TVB had always hoped to shoot a sequel with the original cast. Although they couldn't get the 'housewife killer' pilot Francis Ng back, TVB initially considered Alex Fong, Anthony Wong and Jessica Hsuan to take over, but unfortunately things did not work out. According to sources, the TITS sequel is one of TVB's grand productions this year with plans to shoot in Australia, Japan and other locations in Southeast Asia. TVB looks into adding new faces and a fresh feeling, such as the recent rising stars 'gamers' goddess' Cilla Lok and 'super voice' Mag Lam.
Producer Tommy Leung expressed over the phone yesterday: "TVB is planning to shoot a sequel at the end of this year and next year the movie version. Currently for any popular series, we will consider a movie version, so our artists can become both TV and movie stars."
Many of the cast from TITS have already left TVB including Flora Chan, who had a major reduction in jobs after she had her daughter, Michelle Ye who went to the big screen and most important Francis Ng's chances of coming back to TVB is not very high.
About Joe Ma's contract expiration? Tommy said: "Initially I wanted to get the original cast, and then add new characters. If the series didn't use newcomers, then there wouldn't be a S4!"(yg ini sy setuju)
Yesterday Joe Ma expressed over the phone that he hopes to participate in the sequel: "There are many ways of collaborating, I am not worried. It would be best if there is an opportunity to shoot a movie version. It's hard shooting a series, and to be able to have performances on other platforms, then that is my personal achievements for my hard work." Back then in TITS, Joe became popular from his character Vincent, he admits that he really likes the role, but the story explained Vincent had died. If they shoot a sequel, it would be hard to bring the character back to life again, Joe said: "We can't figure it out either, it is the hard efforts of the scriptwriter."
Regarding the news of being 'kicked out' of the series, Sammul's manager was agitated: "We don't have a contract with TVB, we are the ones that ditched them! We are not TVB people anymore. It was only that time when he still had a contract with them that he had to shoot anything they asked! It's not necessary for them to ask him to shoot the series now! They have so many people! (Has TVB contacted you?) Why would they contact us, we still have 3 series to shoot, no time!"
In the recent year, Sammul Chan has been focused on developing in Mainland and rarely sees his HK fans. Earlier he came back to HK to rest for half a month, and conveniently set up a fans gathering. Wonder if its been too long since Sammul's been in HK, but many fans didn't even have dinner yet, and already wanted pictures with their idol. Sammul fulfilled all requests.
Earlier, Ricky Wong established new television station CTI, Sammul was asked if he invited him over? He said: "Actually I have a pretty good relationship with Mr. Wong. Earlier he flew all the way to Taiwan, where I was working at the time, to talk to me!" It was understood Ricky has intentions to use he and Maggie Cheung, two former TVB artists, in a new series to fight TVB. He said: "Nothing has been confirmed yet, I don't know anything!" Sammul also stressed he completely enjoys working in Mainland because of the high salary and good benefits. When asked if he's afraid TVB would label him as a traitor? He said: "Nope, there are many people in this society that changes jobs. So are they all traitors too? TVB treats me OK too, just there are some people I don't like."

TVB grand production Triumph in the Skies II is scheduled to start shooting in July. The 3 lead actors are Francis Ng, Chilam Cheung and Ron Ng. It was said rising Siu Sang Him Law joins the cast and takes on a significant role. Although Him is an artist under Filmko and not one of TVB’s ‘biological sons’, in the recent year, he's still heavily favored by the company and appears in one series after another.
Earlier Him was involved in the Lau Sing Ding's nude photo scandal. At first, Him lied and said he didn't know him, but it was later discovered that he actually met Lau a few years ago. Following last year’s incident where ex-girlfriend Theresa Fu exposed he was a four-timer and even beats her, Him’s damaged image deepens after this scandal. Fortunately his work at TVB was not affected and the company strongly supported him by casting him in several series post-scandal including Tiger Cubs, the just completed A Chip off the Old Block II, currently shooting Seasons of Love and will be joining the cast of TITS2, which starts in July. Nine years ago, aside from lead actors Francis Ng and Joe Ma, the S4 (Ron Ng, Bosco Wong, Kenneth Ma and Sammul Chan) gained much recognition and popularity and later went on developing a successful solo career. This time TVB arranges Him to be part of TITS2, the purpose is obviously to help him clean his public image. Him had always been seen as TVB's 'godson', and TITS2's producer Joe Chan admits Him is part of the cast. As to his role, it was will be announced later; Elena Kong is joins the cast as well.
Recently Ron Ng's fans were outraged by their idol's injustice, and attacked every discussion forum stating that TVB is demoting Ron. Producer Joe Chan is unsure of Ron's fans complaints, but he reassures fans, that Ron definitely has the leading role in TITS2 and takes up heavy screen time. He has not been demoted.
In regards to the Sales Presentation, where the initial TITS2 cast included Raymond Lam, Bosco Wong and Kate Tsui, the producer said the sales presentation casting is not official. Currently there are three lead actors Francis, Chilam and Ron; The lead actresses are Myolie Wu and Fala Chen. The cast is excellent.
