Is the derby the most special match for you?

It is very special for many, but not that much for me. I think it is abeautiful game, one of those fixtures everyone likes. Everyone wants tobe there either as a player or as a coach, inlcuding myself. I was inmany as a player and this is my first as coach. People shold enjoy itand be aware of its importance, but we mustn't get too excited. It willbe nice to go back to a stadium where I played for many years, butthat's it.

Are Real Madrid in their best form?

We are leaders, but experience tells me that the table isn't tooimportant in games like these, which are marked by intense rivalry andmotivation; stats sometimes don't influence the match at all. Therehave been excellent derbies when both sides weren't playing well in therest of the competition. Nevertheless, judging from how well both teamsare doing, I think we will see a great encounter.

Do you fear Barcelona won't let you keep possession?

Not at all. The two sides that have to generate the most ball movementeverywhere in Spain are going to face each other tomorrow evening, soboth of us are going to try to keep possession and steal the ball asmuch as possible. That is our duty.

What's more relevant, Messi's injury or Eto'o's return?

Eto'o's return is very important because he has been out for severalweeks. He is proving his worh and we all know him perfectly well.Messi's injury is obviously very important too. During the matchagainst Valencia one could see that he is the one who assists Eto'o orthat scores the goal all by himself; he is no doubt a very importantasset in Bareclona's attack. They've gained a lot with Eto'o's return,but they have also lost a great player.

Would you prefer Ronaldinho to play?
I prefer him to play, the same as I would prefer Messi to be there too.As a football fan I like seeing them on the pitch. I feel the sameabout Guti, who has luckily recovered from his injury.

Has he recovered from his sprain?
He is in perfect shape. He trained well today and he is ready to play.

Last season's match at Camp Nou was a turning point for Real Madrid...
It was their best game last year. I saw a true team on the pitch thathad previously gone through a very rough patch. I hadn't seen a gamethat good in years.

Roberto Carlos: Board, not Capello, axed Real Madrid's Beckham

Roberto Carlos has revealed how Fabio Capellohad no say on the decision to dump David Beckham from the Real Madridfirst team midway through last season.

The Fenerbahce star, writing for the Observer,penned: "Early in that season there was the problem with David Beckhambut it was not Capello who threw him out of the team. Whatever it mighthave looked like, that was a decision that came from the board andCapello was forced to accept it. It really surprised me the way he wasleft alone to take the blame for that story. It seemed it was hisfault, but it wasn't.

"David, meanwhile, was relaxed and tranquil -he knew he would be needed sooner rather than later. After a few gamesCapello analysed the situation and realised there was only one option:to go against his bosses and bring Beckham back.
"He called David, said he was sorry and told himhe was back in the team. David wasn't mad, not at all. There were nobad feelings because he knew it wasn't Capello's fault. Now, I am surethat Capello will select Beckham for England - 100 per cent sure. Hewill call David and I think he will make him his captain.

"What Capello likes to see in a player iscommitment to training well, and motivation. Whoever practises wellwill play. For him, the names don't really count, there are no stars."
