Kamiji stars as fugitive lawyer in "Toubou Bengoshi"
Talento Yusuke Kamiji (31) has been given his first starring role in a television drama series. He will lead the tentatively titled "Toubou Bengoshi," based on the manga "Toubou Bengoshi Narita Makoto" that was serialized between 2007 and 2008.
The manga's draft was written by Takeshi Natsuhara (under a different pen name), who is also credited for the "Kurosagi" manga. The suspenseful story follows an enthusiastic lawyer who becomes a nationally wanted man after being falsely accused of murder, arson, and embezzlement. He goes on the run, and while trying to hunt down the real criminal, he encounters various people and helps them with their troubles.
Satomi Ishihara (23) plays the daughter of the murdered lawyer, while Akiko Yada (31) plays a prosecutor. The series starts this July on Fuji TV in the network's Tuesday 10:00pm time slot.
