Synopsis

Kim Yeon Woo, an orthopedic doctor, takes up a new post at Taereung National Village, the training center for national Olympic athletes, after she is fired from her previous job. She becomes romantically involved with the gruff and cynical director of the facility, a crippled ex-speed skater who was forced to quit due to injury, as well as a young judo athlete. This is further complicated by the presence of the swimming coach, Hee Young.

Uhm Tae-woong joins new drama ''Dr Champ''

As reported previously, a new drama called Dr. Champ will air in October. The love interest of Kim So-yeon has been revealed which is played by actor Uhm Tae-woong, as a director at the Taereung National Village. He will play a brusque character who used to be a speed skater, but due to an injury his leg was semi-paralyzed thus he had to give up this sport and on top of that, he was recently dumped by his ex-girlfriend.

Uhm who joins the cast will heat up the story a lot more. He has acted in many great dramas before like The Devil and Resurrection, where he played the role of a ''cold'' character as well. I am looking forward to the love triangle plot between Kim So-yeon(an orthopedic doctor) , Uhm Tae-woong (Taereung's director) and Jung Kyeo-woon (Judo athlete).

Kim So Yeon will appear in SBS upcoming drama titled “Dr. Champ”. She will play female lead, named Kim Yeon Woo, a doctor. The male lead will be Jung Gyu Woon (Women of The Sun, Hateful but Once Again, Loving You Thousand Times).

This drama will be aired around October after I am Legend finished.

Kim So Yeon who gain popularity after her perfect appearance as North Korean agent in IRIS , just finished her latest SBS drama “Prosecutor Princess“. We should give praise to Kim So Yeon for her role selection. She didn’t do stereotype. After played great as a spy in thriller drama IRIS, she became a prosecutor in “Prosecutor Princess”, kind of a fun drama, and now she transform herself to be a doctor.

Dr. Champ is a sport medical drama, story about love, friendship, conflict and reconciliation , dream and hope. The doctor, Kim Yeon Woo, is a perfectionist doctor who is in charge of the national representative athletes at the Korea National Training Center who sometimes clashes with the athletes.
The male lead (Jung Gyu Won) is a national judo athlete. A most promising judo athlete ten years ago, but made mistake at an international competition.

Kang So-ra joins cast of Dr. Champ

Twenty-year-old Kang So-ra has been added to the SBS medical sports drama Dr. Champ, which has already cast Kim So-yeon (Prosecutor Princess) and Uhm Tae-woong (Devil) as doctors in Taereung, the training village for national athletes (see: Taereung National Village). Jung Kyeo-woon (Loving You A Thousand Times) completes that main love triangle as a judo champ, although there are other characters who will complicate romantic matters, naturally.

Kang will play a swimmer on the national team and is a frank, lively girl who likes Jung Kyeo-woon. She has begun intense swimming training in preparation for her role.

Kang So-ra has hitherto been known mostly as “Yoo Seung-ho’s girl” or “Yoo Seung-ho’s first kiss” because she scored the leading female role opposite him in the teen thriller Fourth Period Murder Mystery after Kim So-eun dropped out. She drew added attention when she revealed that prior to her debut, she had weighed over 70 kg, and had shed 20 kg to realize her dream of being an actor.

Shindong to Appear on SBS Drama Doctor Champ

Super Junior's member Shindong will become an actor.

Shindong will play the role of a judo player on SBS new Monday Tuesday miniseries Doctor Champ(directed by Park Hyunggi).  Doctor Champ's representative said, "Shindong will meet TV viewers as an actor Shin Donghee and not as a member of Super Junior.  He will play a judo player, a lifelike character that will make the drama more energetic."

Super Junior has already expanded their field of activity with member Choi Siwon, Kim Heechul and Kim Kibum appearing in dramas and movies.  Shindong has worked as a singer and a variety show MC.  He will expand his field of work by working as an actor.  Doctor Champ is a drama set in Taereung Training Center where it will show the love and the friendship between the members of the national team and their physicians.  Lee Soyeon and Jung Kyeowoon have been cast as the main leads.  Shindong is expected to work with Jung Kyeowoon.

Doctor Champ will air on October after I am a Legend ends.
