Lexus began taking orders for the LFA supercar on October 23, 2009.Buyers will be selectively chosen by Lexus in the second quarter of2010.Production will begin in December 2010 as a 2011 model. Only 500 totalLFA models will be made worldwide, with only 20 produced each month.Each car will be custom ordered to the customer's specifications, andwill cost an estimated $350,000 - $375,000 USD, depending on optionsand customization.

Following the LFA's release at the Tokyo Motor Show, Lexus unveileda website with a 'LFA configurator' which allowed users to selectexterior and interior colors, brake caliper colors, seats, steeringwheel leather, and other interior designs.In total, there are over 30 billion possible configurations.Each LFA will be hand-built by a dedicated production team of engineers and specialists at Toyota's Motomatchi plant in Aichi, Japan.
In the North American market 150 LFAs will be sold through a two year lease program much like the Ferrari F50. This is to prevent owners from reselling the vehicle for a profit.Racing driver Scott Pruett was hired to give test drives to interested buyers, demonstrating the vehicle's capabilities at Auto Club Speedway.The Lexus division of Toyota Motor USA will stop taking orders at theend of 2009. In the European market buyers order their LFA through asingle Lexus dealer located in London where it is purchased outright.
During LFA production, each vehicle will receive a plaque which isindividually numbered, indicating the unit's place in the productionrun. Each LFA V10 engine will also bear the signature of the specialistwho assembled it.With 20 units produced monthly, production of the entire LFA run will last from December 2010 to December 2012. |

Toyota has officially confirmed that its master test driver Hiromu Naruse was killed yesterday in the Lexus LFA crash.
67-year-old Naruse lost control of the LFA Nurburgring prototype and swerved into the oncoming lane and collided with a BMW driven by two BMW test-drivers.

HIROMU NARUSE MASTER TEST DRIVER TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION
Hiromu Naruse is Master Test Driver at Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in Japan.
Naruse joined Toyota Manufacturing Corporation in 1963 as a test driver with Motor Sports in the Technical Division where he test drove the Toyota 7 and the 2000 GT. In 1970, he was transferred to Switzerland where he contributed to the growth of Toyota Motor Sports. He participated in and won many races, as one of the first Japanese participants, including the Nurburgring and Spa 24 Hour challenges. He transferred to the Dynamic Performance Testing Group in 1975 and in 1979 became part of the Overall Testing Group.
Naruse helped establish Special A in 1984.
He also helped establish VDx in 1995 where the group was responsible for auditing and evaluating new vehicles. In 2002 Naruse joined Team N where he is responsible for special assignments.
Naruse’s experience as a driver has included the evaluation and development of every Toyota sports car including the Supra and many hours at Nurburgring. He has earned the nickname “Nur-meister” and holds the top spot of Toyota’s 300 test drivers |

nie kereta prototype...khas utk test handling n performance kat nurburgring ...of course tak de airbag bagai... driver bawak pakai drive suit ngan helmet macam racing driver... rasanya mati sebab broken spine sbb orang tua (umur 67 tahun !) |
