...

Just curious.. why are we discussing this here..?  Consumerism..?

In any case, I'd like to join in the discussion

The Yamaha Music Foundation Program is a pre-Diploma program for those who do not have the
necessary qualifications to go directly for the Diploma program.

The Entry Requirements are:
Age 17 years or above at registration
Yamaha Grade 6 or ABRSM Grade 7 or its equivalent

The beauty about being a student of Yamaha is that you get a chance to sit for the Yamaha exams
on top of external exams like ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) and Trinity
Guildhall (a merger with the Trinity College of Music, London since 2004).

Whether you choose to go to KDU or Yamaha Academy would all depend on your intended career path.
If you wish to join Yamaha as a teacher upon graduation, then I suggest you enroll in the Yamaha Music
Foundation program... cos you will get the Yamaha preference treatment upon getting your Diploma..
The next intake is in September.

ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall exams are recognised world-wide so if you wish to continue with a Bachelor
of Music, then I suggest you check the entrance requirements for that particular university.  If the course
is available at KDU.. why not? You can study at KDU.

All the best...!

Liza minat muzik ke???saya mmg minat...tp belajar gitar separuh jalan je....guru dah pindah tempat lain..kalau tak konpem terrer main gitar skang ni..

Minat tu minat jugak.. but I hated my exam pieces & didn't practise enough.. so I flunked
my Grade 6 piano exam... and quit

I sat for the Trinity College of Music exams for piano and ABRSM exam for Theory of Music.
But I've learned enough to play well and keep myself entertained

I also play the organ. Not difficult to pick up once you know how to play piano.  I just learned
for 3 months.. provided free when we bought the organ..
