Yoo Geon "the stubborn unemployed bum is a lot like me"


Big bright round eyes and tall nose, through his sturdy built, he often gets mistaken as mix-race.
Even from Caucasians in America, he was thought as mix-race. To prove he was 'Korean' he made a choice one summer and
his skin color changed. As his skin tanned to brown under the sun, his Caucasian friends realized he was Asian.
Actor Yoo Geon (24) who has an attractive appearance is very Korean unlike his outter look.
After exchanging just a few words he is already joking and his warm manner wants you to share your thoughts.
His amiable behavior scents off that he is native more so even than the soybean paste soup.

Perhaps that is why it feels really natural for him to play the 20-something jobless Seo Jong-Man character in film "The Kidnapping Incident of Madam Kwon Soon-Boon." ( MISSION POSSIBLE: KIDNAPPING GRANNY K)
He wears jeans instead a suit, and he is a jobless bum who lives in reality instead of goals, and the image he sets off is not polished refinement, but rather a comic ruined person. "Actually this is a new venture for me too. This is first time acting comic. But after I did it I realized he resembles me a lot. His role is part of a 3-person team that kidnaps Madam Gwon Soon-Boon (Na Moon-Hee), as the youngest member who is their driver." He does whatever he wants with the orders given to him by his seniors and ruins things and has a lot of complaints. Yoo says, "with wardrobe of clothing he's never wore before" and "it is a project that helped me realize by awkward points."

Though Yoo Geon began his acting through 2006 KBS 'Hello Dear God,' he actually got a taste of the entertainment world in '99 as a rapper in the group 'OPPA.' And he went through a lot before his debut in entertainment.
After wrapping up his singing career he went against his parents to return to Korea to be an actor,
and while working odd jobs in clothing shops and restaurants, he groomed his dream of becoming an actor.
With the money he earned penny by penny he entered school and enrolled in a management company but was conned. He says, "Back then I didn't have a place to sleep, so I went to my friends' places, and it was to the extent that there are no neighborhoods in Seoul I didn't live in," and as he blushed around the eyelids he disclosed,
"When I think about it now I became an actor by my own making." Whether it is because of the difficult past, or because of the past times of loneliness, he says he is more comfortable infront of the camera than infront of people.
He said, "I am most happy and joyful the moment I act." "Even though I started acting against my parents, now I think that being happy in acting is my way of being filial. No matter how many times I go into filming, I am always happy in my heart."

YTN: The film 'Kidnapping Mz. Kwon' opened this Wednesday and it's receiving lots of love. What is it about?
A: It's about 3 people who are trying to kidnap Mz. Kwon Soon-Boon, and the drama that arises from it. Na Mun-Hee teacher is very smart so even though we kidnapped her it's as if we're the ones getting kidnapped.

YTN: Yoo Geon, your role is one of the 3 sloppy kidnappers, right? What is he like?
YG: Mine is the role of 'Jong-Man' who is a 20 something bum, and who isn't very bright, but he is very opinionated, and stubborn in doing things his way, and lives life without much thought.

Q: In comic films it seems there might be lots of NGs due to the hilarity. Especially since mz. Na Mun-Hee's great at ad lib. Please tell us about something that occurred that was funny.
YG: Teacher Na Mun-Hee, and everyone was so good at acting, instead of saying the NG was funny, it was fun all the time we were acting. The director is very funny, and the whole acting was fun,

Love can never be sold or bought, that is something everyone says and everyone acknowledges.
However, the world has always agonized and be conflicted over love versus money.
In today's world, people offer love as a service and in a place where the cost of such service is demanded, there are also people who hesitate over it. Our commercialized society that puts a price over love or such highly cherished thing as memory....
Our reality which is becoming a merchandize... Under such society, how will love be possible...?

SPOILERS !!

Synopsis:

After discharge from the military and during a introduction meeting of friends, Dong-Ah falls at first sight for Yeon-Woo who works part-time at a restaurant. He tries to create good feelings by working together with Yeon-Woo, however due to other faults, time after time he misses the opportunity to talk to her during work hour.

Finally he even gets the news that she has quit working there. Upon missing his chance at fate, Dong-Ah agonizes over how to start over with Yeon-Woo, and that is when he becomes shocked as he discovers Yeon-Woo's photo posted at the role-play service website his friend Tae-Ho goes to. However, Tae-Ho who is smitten by Hee-Joo who carries out a role play service, advises Dong-Ah to abandon any preconception about role-play service.

At last, Dong-Ah who is hopeful that this could be yet another destined chance solicites a service from Yeon-Woo. Thus, Dong-Ah gets to meet Yeon-Woo... and Yeon-Woo is startled to learn someone she knows has requested her service and tries to reject it, but at last she approves spending a day with him. These two people enjoy their brief happiness on their date. However they lose each other during the date but when they find each other Yeon-Woo leaves when she sees 'first client' as the name that appears on the cellphone.

Dong-Ah is frantic as he worries whether he will lose her for sure after this time. Then Dong-Ah gets another chance when he starts to textmessage Yeon-Woo through help from Tae-Ho, and Yeon-Woo agrees to meet, and Dong-Ah waits for his date with her as he hopes to show her all his heart.

Spoilers Alert !

Dong A makes his entrance to the restaurant. There he meets YeonWoo (JYH) - who's working as a waitress.

^As he tries to speak to YW, Dong A accidentally trips & tipped over YW's tray ... oH-Oh! the coffee cup flew over to this AhJummah.


In this next scene, Dong A is seen with his friend - Tae Ho.

^Tae Ho shows Dong A the picture of his "girlfriend (i.e. HeeJoo ) " stored in his handphone.



Tae Ho suggests to set him up for a blind date on the site .. so he sign up Dong A in this ' Love Selling Dot Com ' site
(even tho Dong A said 'no' )



While, the 2 guys goes for some soju for a heart-to-heart talk...& DongA surfing the net searching for this artist ( I think.. )


^ DongA receives news YW has quit working at the restaurant.



Tae Ho & Dong A is shocked to see YW's picture on the website ...



^TaeHo hurries Dong A to text msg this 'girl' & now this girl ie Yeon Woo - rcvs the text message.


Dong A set a place for them to meet that is , at the ' Fine Arts Museum' & YW agrees to meet his ' blind-date '
( unknowingly that it's Dong A).
Both guys got so happy & excited upon receiving YW's favourable reply, they hugged each other .
Tae Ho dials HeeJoo's h/phone wanting to tell her bout this matter .... instead, Hee Joo pretends that she's abroad ( Paris...? Rome ? )
& that her line ( h/phone connexion ) is bad .. then cuts it off .


Next ... as YW walks up to her meeting place, she thinks her date is late ( unknowingly that her 'blind-date' is already there but hiding behind a tree )
YW suddenly hears a faint whistling sound of a h/p ...turns & walked towards the faint voice talking behind the tree ( observe the cute reactions from DongA ) ... YW got closer to the tree & instantly recognises that is Dong A ...the same guy from the restaurant ! )

YW turns & hurried to leave. Dong A spots her & calls out aloud for her name but YW pretended not to hear & continues to leave...


^ Dong A caught up with YW & asks if she's here to meet her 'date'. YW denies it.
So, Dong A tested her and dialled to his 'blind date's' h/p no. ... YeonWoo trapped in more awkward situation when her h/p rang right in front of him !!

Yeon Woo tries harder to differ & says that this h/phone isnt hers...and tries to leave again.


Quickly Dong A shows her these tickets & bowed humbly for her.
Leaving with no alternative YW asks Dong A to 'follow her'.

Dong A listens as he grins to himself in delight ....

(Their dating scene is so cute ! this familiar nice English song playing @ the background )

While out on the streets in the midst Yeon Woo & Dong A were seperated ... YW dials DongA's h/p but later decides not to...since they're not 'lovers' (thinks YeonWoo..)
So she switched off her h/p instead. Dong A went looking all over for her, he even tries to call Yeon Woo but wasnt able to get hold of her.

YW goes home with disappointment. HJ asks how's her date...YW replied it's not like how she expected it to be.
(Aah ~ seems that Dong A was already attracted to YW frm the beginning.)
HeeJoo (YeonWoo's room mate / buddy) recvs this text msg saying '' I miss You ...'' from this other guy ( Seo Ji Han )
whom she's been seeing without Tae Ho's knowing . HJ hurries over to see SeoJiHan @ his place.


Next scene...YW is out with this 'long haired-specky' guy .. (i think, it's another one of her ' blind-date(s) ' ?? )
YW receives a text msg from Dong A. (Seems that of late, she's been avoiding all of his calls)

Dong A text msg to asks YW to return him his call. YW excused herself from the specky guy to make this call to Dong A.

( ^Woah .. this scene, the facial expressions .. Dong A speaks to YW in super speed made him sounded like chipmunks ... ... )
After such speedy explanation...YW agrees to meet up with DA.

Next, YW meets Dong A at Lotte World (... I think ). Dong A suggests they go skating ...YW hesitated.
So they had some fun... ( & I had fun watching these 2 'butterflies' .. )

^ (Flashback) himself being bored & snoozing during one of his ' soo gae ting ' ( Edit: ' introduction meeting ' ) at the restaurant where Yeon Woo works.

Then he woke up & saw his ' love at first sight ' --> ....... her, that is. ( Yeon Woo blushes & suddenly feels the atmosphere is a little warm. )


In this next scene - they went for some ' refreshments'.... and more dialogues.
(YW made a pretty nice sketch of Dong A on the paper napkin )


Due to some misunderstanding YW got annoyed with Dong A, so she stepped outside.
Dong A raced up to Yeon Woo then puts his arm round her shoulder .... (Uh Oh...bad timing)


^.... Dong A tries to kiss YeonWoo .. & later got the nose bleed

Dong A sees Tae Ho & tells him what happened earlier (nose bleed). Tae Ho teases Dong A & then falls off frm his swing.
*giggles* Dong A got pretty mad so he chases TH round the park /playground. Tae Ho encourages Dong A to call YW to apologise on his behaviour ... in return, Dong A receives a loud YELL from Yeon Woo.

Next scene - YW is seen out with this specky ajusshi (again) .... her heart & mind is some where else...
this specky ajusshi wants YW to be his steady.... YW panics & quickly runs out frm the ajusshi's car.

At Hee Joo's home : Hee Joo tries to call SeoJiHan but he hangs up on her.
YW comes back & i dont quite catch what was their conversation...
