RSF Rules & Guidelines (Last Updated: 16th October 2010)

The moderators of RSF will use this thread to list every rule of this baord. We will explain each rule in reasonable amount of detail, specify the corresponding penalty for its violation and its effective date (7 days from the its publication date).

Please be aware that the 7-day grace period is not intended to give a chance for a member to commit the violation as much as possible before the effective date, but rather to give the chance for each member to familiarize themselves with the rule. During the period, moderators will only advice a member if his/her action will be a violation when the rule takes effect.

Once the rule is effective, upon encountering a violation of the rule, a moderator will warn the violator to delete and/or take the violating statement back and issue an apology* to the community or risk a penalty. It is sufficient to apologize by writing something appropriate within the thread where the violation occurs. We also believe that it's only fair if we enforce a rule on posts posted after the effective date of the particular rule.

New rules will be added when deemed necessary. We will try not to introduce more than one rule in a week. The reason why we introduce one at a time is to allow RSF members to adapt to it gradually and effectively. We also need to give ourselves time to discuss a new rule privately to come out with the best version we possibly can.

Please be infomed that all rules listed here except for Rule 1 is only applicable within RSF.

Any questions, comments or complaints on any rule or its enforcement can be addressed in Complaints, Suggestions and Feedback thread.

Please be informed that the rules may be updated from time to time. The post following this one lists the rules and their last update dates as well as highlighting newly introduced rules. The subject of this thread will be "RSF Rules" and followed by the date of last update. As a member, we expect you to keep yourselves updated.

*apology - As humans, we have no way of determining with absolute certainty whether or not an apology is issued with sincerity. However, we expect an apology to at least appear to be as sincere as possible. A violator is also expected to make an attempt to aviod committing similar violation in the future. We will try to be as forgiving as possible. Afterall, 'to err is human, to forgive, divine' (A. Pope).

Religion, Spirituality and Faith General Guidelines

As all of you know, we come from different religious background and undoubtedly different opinions and viewpoints will arise. Our wish for this forum is that all who attend come away with a richer understanding of the issues being debated, and with an increased appreciation of contrary viewpoints held by other members. These guidelines are in place to encourage that end above any others.

All participant of RSF board engaging in debate are expected to adhere to the spirit of the following guidelines.

PURPOSE

Most of us here will have been involved previously in other discussion communities where some contributors' goals seemed rather different. We assume that we are already uniquely in possession of the 'ultimate truth' is as effective a blockade to learning anything new or our readiness to reason and accept the differences between members beliefs.

Apply humility to yourself, NOT to others. If we do this perhaps there will be less religion bashing going around in this board.

GRACIOUS BEHAVIOUR

Previous rule still applies. There should be no rude comments, flaming, bashing and personal attack.

Vacuous and sarcastic slanders towards religious figures will not be tolerated. Consider that you are joining a community marked by good spirit and a shared commitment to learn and to help others learn. Thus it is expected that all discussion participants will:

Read others' posts with care and thoughtfulness.

Write your own posts with care and deliberation.

Please try to understand the position of those who disagree with you.

Value your own experience and knowledge, and allow the same for others.

Please don抰 hog the board. Keep your posts to a size and frequency which allows others an equal place in the discussion.

Respect the intention of the person who originally posted and keep discussion relevant to the topic or question if that is his/her expressed wish, or the wish of others engaged. Always feel free to begin a separate question yourself if a tangent seems particularly interesting or important.

Feel quite free to disagree, but please keep it pleasant.

Remember that humor and a friendly manner can go far in encouraging your readers to 'hear' your opinion - and, make your posts helpful to the whole community.

Prove your claims, be specific and please differentiate between FACTS and OPINIONS.

Claims you want to argue in your posts ought to be clearly stated, but specific and not unhelpfully generalized. Try to find examples. If your claim isn't something you are able to verify, note that it is your opinion only. Where you can verify, show the sources so others can check. Provide links wherever they are useful. Don't assume something must be true simply because an 'authority' says so, or because some large number of people believe it to be so.

In general to keep the board clean and informative, and parallel with CARI FORUM Guidelines, all members may NOT:

Post Abusive Comments
While debating and discussion is fine, please refrain from making insulting, purposeless inflammatory posts, rudeness or personal attacks.

Spam
Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such.

Multi Posting
Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count or getting attention paid to your issue is not allowed.

Make Thread or Post for Advertisement to sell/buy things.
You cannot post advertisements or notices for contests. This includes using the forum Private message system to promote/sell/buy stuff or services.

Post Pornographic Message and Pictures.
We also do not allow posts that are sexual in nature.

Post Obscene/Unsuitable Pictures/links.
Please refrain from posting pictures of an unsuitable nature/links to unsuitable websites.

Copyright Infringement.
Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.

Troll the Forum.
Trolling is the posting of messages intended to spark a fight or stirring up trouble or to incite disruption.

Make Thread Hijacking Posting.
Remarks that is not in good humor and with no intention of joining in with the threads original purpose.

Slander Unconstructive Remarks.
Do not make any kind of this type of remarks against other religion, race or other forum member that could be detrimental to the wellbeing of the RSF board. This include calling the person's religion or holy book as fake/false/corrupted. - - - - Updated 15/5/2006

Censorable Types of Post
Penalty: Deletion of the post/thread
Effective Date: Immediate

The Administrator of Cari Forum has listed down the following 6 types of posts that should be deleted by moderators.

1) Multiple post
2) Pornographic post
3) Advertisement (except in Classified sections)
4) Post on any variant of get-rich-quick scheme
5) Looking for sex and closely related post
6) Post which contains copyright infringement, federal law or Cari Forum Terms of Services violation

Rule: Ban on personal attacks against a member.
Penalty:up to 30 CP deduction.
Effective Date: May 20th, 2006

Personal Attack argument (aka argumentum ad Hominem in Latin) has been one of the most common offenses in RSF. Many good online forums ban personal attacks for it always causes stir in the community. Looking at their success in maintaining peace within their communities, we believe that it is a good idea to implement this rule here in our effort to encourage fruitful discussions in peaceful environment. We also believe that this rule is consistent with the Cari Forum Freedom of Speech Responsibility rules which prohibits defamations.

There are many variants of personal attacks. Its Latin name literally means 慳gainst the person

TO ALL MEMBER!

No post or thread shall be allowed that is for the express purpose of picking fights with other members, and/or name-calling other participants in this regard. A thread that has an indecent, offensive, misleading or provocative title shall be modified/removed. Posts containing indecent, flirtatious, foul, offensive or abusive language or insulting and derogatory to other members, their family or relatives shall be removed. Broadly speaking, topics opened for a discussion on a particular topic should stick to discussion on that or any directly related topic. Please don't derail discussions by irrelevant side-topics.

Any violations of above rules may result in the posts being removed/edited/credit deducted and the thread deleted (as the case maybe). Repeat violations may result in additional restrictions imposed by the Admin.

Any posts containing words such as :

mo  (insulting to  Prophet Muhammad swt)
jezzz  (insulting to Jesus)
cow  (insulting to most Hindus)
etc

will be deleted as soon as they are identified. This forum is a place for intellectual discussion and not a place to vent your frustrations about other religions. Additionally insulting words used for other members like king kong, animal, baboon, moron, stupid etc, or any word which is meant as a disrespect to other members, fall under the same category. Using such words may lead to a warning being issued and in case of repeat offenders, to being banned.

Also I would like to add that the common habit of twisting CARI's  nicknames to make fun of them or insult them, will no longer be tolerated.

Minimum Penalty for ALL Types of Violation

Effective Date: Dec 2 2007

The content of a post which contains a violation of board rules shall be deleted (partially or entirely), and it shall be accompanied with credit deduction of no less than 15 (up to whatever our daily limit is). If the violation occurs in the opening post of a thread, the thread may also be closed immediately.
Should a conflict arise between this and the penalties introduced before, the harsher one shall prevail. This shall be the standard penalty for any violation of the rules introduced hereafter, unless otherwise specified.

Penalty will be carried out without further warning. An apology will no longer excuse any violation.

Any posts containing defamation, insult, ridicule or mockery of:

- any God(s)
- prophets or people of comparable status
- religious practice
- sacred place
- sacred item

will not be tolerated. Showing any disrespect towards them is not acceptable under any circumstances. Any posts that contain deliberately distorted and/or misinterpreted material may be removed. This will be at the discretion of the moderators.

Any violations of above rules may result in the posts being removed/edited. Repeat violations may result in additional restrictions imposed by the Admin.

Ban on Non-Standard Designations

Effective Date: Dec 2 2007

The follower(s) of a specific religion/sect/denomination et cetera shall only be called by the standard designation for the follower of such belief.

Buddhists are to be called Buddhists
Christians are to be called Christians
Hindus are to be called Hindus
Jews are to be called Jews
Muslims are to be called Muslims
Voodoos are to be called Voodoos
et cetera.

Standard penalty applies for each violation.

Post Deletion

Effective Date: Apr 17 2008

Any posts that contains meaningless emoticon or any sort of meaningless symbol/character will be deleted without any warning & notification. The same goes to double/multiple post.

Any other posts that are offensive/insulting will be deleted with credit deduction. Copy of those post will be put in the Posts Dumpster and the guilty member will be notify of the offense.

ANY FORM OF RACISM will see you penalized with -50 credits with warnings. Ignoring the warnings and i will deduct -100 for every post plus report to the SuperMod or Admin.

Know that we (Mods & Supermods) consider everyone on the board (regardless of skin color and background) is equal as a person and everyone is entitled to their opinion and it entitled to argue their opinion.

●１）Tidak dibenarkan menghebah iklan di forum:
Demi menjaga forum, ahli forum tidak dibenarkan membuka thread yang mengiklankan sesuatu perniagaan atau meletakkan LINK di dalam thread tidak kira secara langsung atu tidak langsung.

Ini termasuk tidak dibenar meletak Link forum yang lain atau blog yang berunsur perniagaan diforum ini.

Perkara yang mengenai jual beli juga tidak dibernarkan kecuali di Board yang diizinkan, sebarang pengiklanan atau jual beli sila ke Board CARI Classifieds atau Board Jual Beli.

Jika ahli ingin membuat iklan yang lebih berkesan, sila ke link http://banner.cari.com.my/untuk mendapatkan maklumat lanjut.

Walau bagaimanapun, mengiklan sesuatu perniagaan atau pemberitahuan sesuatu produk melalui PM atau signature juga tidak di benarkan. ●２）Tidak dibenarkan membuat aduan atau melepaskan perasaan ketidak puas hati anda di forum:
Sedia dimaklumkan, ramai ahli suka melepaskan ketidak puas hati mereka di forum, tidak kira tidak puas hati dengan perkhidmatan sesebuah organisasi, kedai atau terhadap seseorang. Mereka semata-mata untuk melepaskan geram, tanpa menghiraukan keadaan ini akan mengugatkan keadaan forum di mana forum ini mungkin perlu menghadapi kedakwaan satu hari nanti.

Kita sedia dimaklum,seseorang ahli forum ingin melepaskan perasaan tidak puas hati terhadap sesuatu organisasi atau seseorang di thread, jika pihak berkenaan ternampak therad ini, mereka akan mengeluarkan surat kedakwaan kepada forum ini. Akhirnya ahli berkenaan juga akan dikenakan tindakan yang tidak dapat didugakan.

Perkara di atas akan menyebabkan forum menghadapi masalah yang tidak dapat didugakan.

●３）Avatar:

Ahli forum tidak dibenarkan meletak gambar bogel, iklan, tidak seronok atau gambar yang boleh mengugut ketenteraman publik sebagai avatar. Jika didapati ahli meletak gambar sebegini, jika arahan sudah diberi, tetapi ahli masih enggan patuhi, admin berhak menukar avatar tersebut tanpa pemberitahuan.


●４）Signature:
Signature tidak dibenarkan untuk membuat iklan sesuatu perkidmatan atau produk, malahan juga tidak boleh meletak link forum yang lain.

Ini disebabkan kebanyakan ahli forum suka menggunakan kemudahan signature untuk meletakan Link website lain, semata-mata untuk mengiklan sesuatu produk/ perkidmatan.

Walau bagaimanapun, ahli forum juga tidak dibenarkan memaki seseorang melalui kemudahan ini.

Blog atau facebook yang tidak berunsur ikan atau sesuatu perniagaan adalah digalakkan.

●５）Puak/ kelompok tidak dibenarkan:
Puak atau kelompok yang boleh mendatangkan masalah kepada forum tidak dibenarkan. Jika ahli forum ternampak keadaan sebegini boleh lapor kepada moderator, super moderator atau admin untuk tindakan lanjut.

●６）Thread yang sama tidak dibenar buka di merata board:
Pihak kami mendapati banyak ahli forum suka membuka thread yang sama di banyak board, semata-mata agar ramai ahli nampak informasi yang mereka ingin sampaikan. Keadaan sebegini kebanyakan mengenai pengiklan sesuatu perkidmatan/ produk dan fitnah terhadap seseorang.

Dengan ini ahli forum tidak boleh membuka thread yang sama di banyak board. Jika ternampak kedaan sebegini, kesemua thread akan padam tanpa diberitahu. Jika ahli yang sama berulang kali melakukan kesalahan yang sama, serta engan mematuhui peraturan ini akan dikenakan tindakan berat.

Akan tetapi, thread yang mengenai perkara yang penting atau cemas boleh dikecualikan, tetapi harus mengikut keadaan. Seelok-eloknya ahli seharusnya minta keizinan daripada admin atau super moderator terlebih dahulu.

Harap moderator ternampak ahli membuka thread yang menglanggar peraturan ini, sila periksa sama ada ahli berkenaan juga buka thread yang sama dimerata board, jika ya, sila lapor kepada admin atau super moderator untuk padamkan thread tersebut.


●７）Kata-kata yang boleh merosak hubungan kaum,lucah, mencarut dan mengugut diharamkan:

Sebarang kata di atas adalah tidak dibenarkan, jika terlibat dengan perkara diatas, kemungkinan ahli berkenaan akan dipanggil oleh pihak polis untuk siasatan lanjut. Jika ahli terlibat dan melakukan kesalahan ini, ID anda akan terus menjadi Banhammer.

●８）Fitnah, maki, personal attack, mengungkit perkara sensitif dan kata kasar juga tidak dibenarkan:
Bagi mengawasi forum sentiasa dalam suasana yang mesra tanpa kacau-bilau, perkara seperti di atas tidak dibenarkan timbul di forum ini. Jika ahli forum terlibat kesalahan diatas, pihak admin, moderator atau super moderator akan mengambil tindakan berat ke atas ahli berkenaan. Jika kesalahan berat, ID akan menjadi Bamhammer.

●９）Menghebah maklumat peribadi atau mengubah gambar orang lain adalah diharamkan:
Maklumat seperti nombor telefon, alamat, nombor IC, maklumat lain atau mengubah gambar orang lain ATAU gambar ahli forum adalah tidak dibenarkan. Ini termasuk menghebah gambar peribadi orang popular atau politik atau sebaliknya yang boleh mencacatkan nama baik mereka juga tidak dibenarkan.

●１０）Private Message (PM):
Ahli forum menggunakan PM untuk mengiklan, memaki, mengfinah, menghebah maklumat peribadi orang lain,kata-kata lucah/ kasar juga satu kesalahan. Jika ahli terima PM sebegini, sila PRINT SCREEN dan hantar kepada super moderator atau admin.

●１１）Thread bunuhdiri:
Thread bunuh diri, mengajak ahli bunuh diri atau membincang mengenai bunuh diri tidak dibenarkan.

●１２）SPAM:
Ahli yang buat SPAM semasa berforum atau membalas thread dengan ICON sahaja adalah satu kesalahan. Ahli yang terlibat dengan kesalahan ini akan dikenakan tindakan. Moderator berhak padam thread berkenaan. jika ahli masih berulangi, moderator berhak tolak kredit ahli berkenaan.

Moderator berkuasa untuk menilai dan membuat keputusan akhir sama ada ahli tersebut melakukan SPAM atau tidak.


●１３）Mengutip derma atau menyeru ahli menderma diharamkan:
Bagi mengelakkan masalah yang tidak seronok berlaku, forum ini tidak membenarkan ahli mengutip derma atau menyeru ahli menderma untuk sesuatu persatuan kebajikan atau untuk seseorang. Sebab forum ini susah hendak mengenal pasti sama ada persatuan kebajikan yang dikatakan oleh ahli benar-benar wujud atau tidak. Pihak kami tidak mahu sebarang penipuan berlaku di forum ini.

Ini bermakna ahli juga tidak dibenarkan meninggalkan nombor akuan bank di forum ini.

●１４）Bahasa:
Kalau boleh Ahli forum digalakkan menggunakan bahasa yang mudah difahami semasa berinteraksi di forum ini.

    Selain Peraturan CARI Forum di atas, setiapboard juga terdapat peraturan tambahan mengikut board masing-masing, tetapi peraturan board tidak akan bercanggah dengan peraturan CARI Forum ini. Ahli forum diminta memberi kerjasama, dan mematuhi Peraturan CARI Forum atau PeraturanBoard.

    Selain itu, jika moderator, super moderator atau admin memberi nasihat atas kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh ahli, harap ahli berkenaan mamatuhi. Jika tidak pihak kami akan mengambil tindakan seterusnya.

    Jika ahli forum mempunyai cadangan sila nyatakan di sini.

    Walau bagaimanapun admin atau super moderator berhak mengubah peraturan CARI Forum atau peraturan dari semasa ke semasa mengikut kesesuaian, tanpa pemberitahuan.

REFRESHING GUIDELINES FOR FORUMER

Let us refresh once again on the rules.

No personal attack, provocation, sarcasms leading to fights, name calling (change the nick just to show spite and engage in personal attack of forum members), hostile languages, vulgar words, insult, disrespect and rude, racist posting or words that has no views but purely an express of anger or attacks:
