Allo tambi. The question posted by 'naimareim' is about the different versions of the bible but you shifted the goalposts (ie. change the topic) to be different translations of the bible. Versions and translations are 2 different things. The different versions of the bible as follows :

As for the NT in Codex Sinaiticus (the oldest dated bible so far) :
The version of the New Testament has some few interesting differences. It includes two works which have since been dropped from both Catholic and Protestant Bibles – "The Shepherd of Hermas", a heavily allegorical work full of visions and parables and "The Epistle of Barnabas", which contains highly-charged language about the Jews as the killers of Christ.

The Codex omits the words which Protestants add to the end of The Lord's Prayer, and Catholics omit: "For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever (Matthew 6:13).

Other differences include it saying that Jesus was "angry" as he healed a leper, where the modern text says he acted with "compassion". The story of the stoning of the adulterous woman – "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" is not there. Nor are Christ's words about his executioners from the cross: "Father forgive them for they know not what they do". And its Gospel of Mark ends abruptly after Jesus's disciples discover his empty tomb – omitting the 12 verses on the appearance of the resurrected Christ – and leaving the disciples exiting in fear. The Codex leaves an unusual blank space where the verses should be. "That's a very odd way of ending a Gospel," says Juan Garces, the curator of the Codex Sinaiticus Project.

Additionally :
Protestants, Roman Catholics, and Greek Orthodox Christians agree on the same 27 books for the composition of the New Testament; however some smaller groups of Christians do not. The Nestorian, or Syrian church, recognizes only 22 books, excluding 2 Peter, 2 and 3 John, Jude and Revelation.

On the other hand, the Ethiopian Orthodox Church includes the same 27 books in its "narrower" canon but adds 8 books to its "broader" canon: "four sections of church order from a compilation called Sinodos, two sections from the Ethiopic Books of Covenant, Ethiopic Clement, and Ethiopic Didascalia."

Ha ha , confirmed that there are different versions (not translations) of the bible , both the OT and NT. No wonder you try to change the topic to different translations. Are you embarrassed with the different versions (not translations) of the bible?

Appears that the different sects in christianity have independent ideas of what should be the word of the biblical God.

In other words , you agree that there are many versions (not translations) of the bible. The question now which version is the so called authentic one , if there is one.

You read which version of the bible with faith? With or without faith , it is still one of the many versions.

Ha ha , this is really funny. When cornered , you try your best to shift the goalposts aka change topics. We are done talking about sects and killings , you've been thoroughly refuted in this issue. Can you focus on this issue of the authenticity of the bible? As predicted , you cannot do so. Told you christian theology is indefensible.

Bible Verse Comparison            It is the intention of our Compare Bible Verses by Translation pages to allow users to study Bible verses using more than one translation and version. This study tool can help people see how different translations and versions have interpreted the original Greek and Hebrew languages.  When comparing translations for a Bible verse, users can read the well-known translations including New International Version, King James Bible, The Message, Revised Standard Version, and English Standard Version, as well as more than 30 additional translations. When reading Bible verses in different translations, users can compare word for word translations and thought for thought translations that offer a parallel idiom for contemporary language. In addition, more recent versions offer a paraphrase translation for modern English.Whether you are a just beginning to read the Bible or a seasoned reader, comparing translations for individual Bible verses allows for a broader understanding of the passage and insight into the intent of the original Biblical manuscripts.

Ha ha , you have many problems with the bible lah tambi. As follows :
- many version of the bible with different books (additional) per the different sects
- many editions of the bible (meaning the bible has been revised over and over again) which also mean many versions

Meaning :
- the different sects of Christianity have different ideas of what should be the word of the Christian God
- the word of the Christian God is dictated by man with the many revisions

I am not talking about the different translations.

I believe it is the Christians who read the bible without understanding :

What say you?

Aiyoyo tambi. How come you so slow one? The question here is that with the many versions of the bible , which is the authentic version?

Bear in mind
- many version of the bible with different books (additional) per the different sects
- many editions of the bible (meaning the bible has been revised over and over again) which also mean many versions

An example of 1 joh5:7
bible kjv (or gay-J-V) : For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
bible niv : For there are three that testify
bible nrsv : There are three that testify

Big difference between the KJV (or Gay-J-V) and the niv / nrsv

Why you still 'die-die' talk about the different translations?

Aiyoyo tambi , such simple concept yet you fail to understand

Simple test for you -
(1) different translations of the bible
(2) different versions (comprising of different books) of the bible
(3) different versions (of different editions) of the bible

(1) = (2) = (3)?
(a) yes
(b) no
(c) don't know

(a) or (b) or (c) is the answer?
